You can have a secondary helmet provided its the same color, the big issue they had was when the Bucs normally have a pewter helmet and wanted to bust out the creamsicle jerseys with the white helmet.
It is a concussion thing. They want them to use the same fitted helmet. Miami is just doing a sticker change.
I still think our current uniforms are better with the clean and more modern look, but these are beautiful as well. We should wear throwbacks once a year. This way everyone is happy.
I was a proponent for change because our colors had evolved into some green and weird orange that was just bad, especially the road unis, but this stuff is cool, the black cleats set it off and the combination of the modern helmet makes the old logo look better, my hope is that we wear these as much as the steelers and packers where their alternates which is a couple times a year.
I agree, I'd love to see them break em out at least twice a year. Steelers and especially the Packers on the other hand should never wear those throwbacks ever! Those are awful!
point is they rock them all the time so why can't we, is there any rule as to how many games you can do this per year? Cause if the players really like it then they will lobby for an extra game.. I mean this is not just a one game thing right, these are our official alternate unis right?
It's the little things I love about all of this.. the black cleats, gray facemasks/no visors, Wake with his fingers taped instead of gloves. It's gonna be a great night when we rock these, the last and only time we wore throwbacks we beat the cowgirls 40-21 on Thanksgiving in 2003. I liked the orange jerseys, but I am in love with these! Gonna try to pick up a #17 tomorrow.
I really wanted stripes on the new ones, but it probably wouldn't have fit the whole modern theme they were going for, so I can't be super upset. Especially now that these are an option.
Those look so awesome. Who still wants navy blue or grey instead? I hope they eventually start wearing these the maximum 2 games per year. I mean its not completely like the originals with the sleeve stripes, but it looks great. I miss the big orange outlines on the numbers with no navy blue.
Me. Although I do prefer this throwback aqua over the current aqua, I'm all about the all-white. Still, the grey would be awesome:
Those are, with out a doubt the best looking Uniforms in the NFL right now. WOW. They need to be the permanent Uniforms, Those Unis, on current helmet full time, make it happen Dolphins
Best I can find is from 2003 when Miami shredded Dallas on Thanksgiving. I get that they're going with the aqua since it's a Monday Night game, and I thought I saw somewhere that either this year, or next year with the canopy, all home games after 4pm Miami will be wearing aqua.
helmets... like the logo.. like the grey facemask. The jerseys/pants... i dunno... guess I've become used to the new ones...
I love the throwbacks, my only problem is that they didn't really solve for the disappearing sleeve stripe. It's too truncated for my tastes. I sort of wish they would have went with the stripes on a compression shirt instead. I love everything else about these.
Haven't read the whole thread, and somebody may have said this already... But I like those throwbacks MUCH MORE than the current garb. They friggin' POP.
Love em ! However....... We were promised an "alternate" jersey for this season...... Throwbacks are NOT alternates. I prefer the throwbacks over an orange or blue alternate..... But both is good too. Should we still expect an alternate? Or was this another botched uniform announcement, post Mike Dee.
I like the new uniforms, they look clean, but when I saw these today & thought wow they actually look like Miami Dolphins now. Cannot wait to see them kickoff in these.
So much positive feedback, I really hope they make these things permanent. I mean Mike Dee, who was behind the uni change, is gone, and Garfinkel seems to be more open to the fans opinions. Its all how these sell, and I think these will sell better than their current uniforms. I want to see what the white version of this would look like
True, only mentioning Dee because of how poorly the last uni release was handled... I do recall him leaving for the Padres job. Now they used the word alternate, but eventually release throwbacks? this "new" jersey has been in my closet for 20 years already ! Im sure there's more to come, maybe next year.

The shade of aqua is better than what our new uniforms have. Not a fan of the black gloves or shoes, but again, I get why they're doing it for this one game. As I understand it, NFL rules dictate that if we wear an alternate, this will be it through 2019 now.
If we are at all Rollin going into that 12/14 Mon. night game, and than we throw those on and whoop the Giants, that's goin to be all of us.
Ryan Tannehill looks like a super hero in this pic haha. Since I'm a malcontent, I'm going to complain a little about the aqua being too green. I prefer the aqua blue much more. Now that I got that out of the way, Love the uniforms. - Numbers font is great - Helmet stripes are perfect - Sleeve and sock stripes look good - Orange is represented - Logo doesn't suck, even if it's outdated. Still cool. Almost perfect. These should be worn 2x a year. Break out the all whites for day games too. In fact, get rid of our new uniforms/logo and just go back to this. Every aspect of these uniforms is better. Almost, I love the white face masks we're currently rocking.
Totally agree that color would be better than the present. I just hope come 2018 they change to the throwbacks full time, but I wouldn't mind that blue one bit either.
