Is Hull injured? I haven't seen his name or him on a group?

Philbin made some comment on Tripp looking good getting the defense set.....Is Tripp seeing first team reps in the middle?

Tripp looked better than last year. Got some first team reps. Praise from Philbin as a good communicator... He is a trip to listen to. Kinda like Rob Thomas from Matchbox twenty on speed.

I haven't been worried about our LBs going into this camp. IMO Jenkins, McCain and Tripp have the talent to be good to very good starters. Maybe not this year, but the talent is there. I think Misi would be an ideal back-up for all three LB positions. I also think that at worst Shepard and at least two of the UDFA LBs would be functional back-ups. On a team that uses only two LBs or less so often that's all we need.

Just listened to an interview with Kelvin Sheppard (sp?) on QAM with O. Kelly. I've never watched the guy play, but he comes off as being a pretty sharp guy who understands the MLB role well with a very good attitude.

Our linebacker corps just got a lot better with Sheppard.

Me neither. I am actually pretty confident about this group. It's not like it should be difficult to be better than last year's. I love the depth. I really like Luc and some others as well. I think we will have some solid starters and definitely some quality depth, some who have the potential to take over a starting role. Also, with Suh, their job should be quite a bit easier.

    Slightly left of center
I haven't been more worried about any position group ever. How our LBs play this year will be the difference between another 8-8 9-7 year and the Super Bowl.

    This makes me happier tho...

”It’s evident after only two days that the linebacker group once figuring to be a weak spot early on will be the exact opposite. Camp competition at the positing is only going to get more intense as the days of camp continue."

of which performance are you basing this ? so far in his career he was pretty average in buffalo and even worse with the colts...he had terrible grades against the run

I haven't seen anything yet to remember..2 down player I think, have to keep close eye on him in coverage, at least I know what I'm gonna get out of that with Misi and its decent at mike.

Sheppard sucks! There is no future there...no hope for greatness. Give Tripp the reps. With an athlete like Tripp, if it all comes together we may have a Luke Kuechly type player in a couple years.
