Teams just keep feeding AA the rapies. To be fair though that's not a young team and with Bautista and Encarnacions contacts both coming up, their window is now. So at least AA had the balls to go for it

Have you seen Bautista's season this year... the Blue Jays won't miss him if he can't even hit .250.. The guy isn't even young either, turns 35 in 3 months.

He was killing it til he got injured. He's been playing hurt. That's just a silly statement imo.

If youre on the field you are fine, he would still be in the DL if it was something major. Hes been a pop fly batter chasing homeruns. The guy hasnt been good this season.

Yeah don't agree with that one that if you're on the field you're fine. He's been battling a shoulder issue all year. Plus who cares what his BA is, he's getting on base at a 36% clip, slugging over .500. An injured Bautista is still pretty good.

Its getting fun trolling Bryce Harper....Id call him this generations Barry Bonds in terms of his off field interactions with media and fans but Bonds, while he was a prick, wasnt dumb. Everything this guy says is verbal diarrhea..

I know what kind of team you are too Bryce....2nd place...*****.... http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/me...ippy-after-mets-take-sole-possession-of-first

All that and the Mets are lacking his type of Bat. He is the type of player you cant stand unless they are on your team.

I'm not sure you can chase 23 Home runs... Not with .360 OBP. Sure he is having a injury plagued down year. He isnt young but he is coming off a 6 WAR season. While i wouldnt sign him for a long contract i cant see the Blue Jays being better without him.

Yeah there were some heavy rumors of the Rangers poking around a trade for him a few years back. That would have been much better than the **** Dempster and Garza trades. I hated both of those so much. Joey Bats has been one of my favorite players for awhile.

Plus, the dude is great at revenge hits. Plunk/throw inside on him and he retaliates with big shots better than anyone imo.

The best player on the blue jays is Donaldson by far, its not even close, and they have Tulowitzki locked in till 2021. The Blue Jays have well prepared the departure of Bautista. The offense isnt going to miss a beat. I still think he re-signs with them but theyre going to be fine with or without him. The priority has to be signing Price long term, which they will be up against the Braves for Price it looks like (price grew up a braves fan and there are those that believe he would like to sign with them). Lets not pretend the Blue Jays dont have rich ownership, they can very well afford to spend and sellout their ballpark everyday if they wanted to. So those thinking theyre going to get away, dont get your hopes up. That team has a strong core for the future.

I'd be completely and utterly shocked if the Braves are a real player for Price. Outside of BJ Upton, the Braves have never spent big on a free agent and I doubt they're willing to spend over 200 million on 1 player.

The problem isn't that the Blue Jays do or don't have money, it's just that they have to grossly overpay to land players as they don't want to play in Canada due to taxes, living in another country etc.

And we finally DFA'ED Alex Torres and his 7BB/per 9IP rate. Acquired Eric O Flaherty from Oakland. Cant pitch to Righties but he can get Lefties out.

Yeah I thought Owens looked fine yesterday too. Used all 4 of his pitches, changed eye levels. His command was off (as it is sometimes) but he settled down after the 1st inning. Definitely a positive for him. With him and Rodriguez the Sox might have a nice foundation for their future rotation.

But seriously Clay is pretty freaking ugly, how he landed a "Deal or No Deal" model is a mystery.

Sevarino is gonna be a stud. He's got the right attitude...his comments from spring training say it all...he was asked about the most dangerous hitter in the game and he replied "the one at bat".

He's no Syndergaard but he will be a beast. :)

So Serverino was helped a little on the strike zone, not helped at all by Headley, but in all he looks pretty good.....

One glaring negative for me on him is that the kid throws using his upper body (too much elbow strain eventually) and his follow through doesn't follow all the way through....I think he is getting by on he is big and young but I hope Rothschild gets him to uses his lower half on his delivery more. Kid throws 97 now using mostly his upper body imagine if he honed in his lower half?

That's the big knock on him according to scouts. That delivery would scare me a bit, can't be good for the arm. But I mean he's no Steven Wright.

Steven. Wright. Yanks caught some bad breaks too, a few balls that ricocheted right to fielders, but that's baseball for ya and isn't baseball amazing Suyzn?

Yankees sucks against knuckleballers....always have...tomorrow they get Dickey who they have a 1.80ERA against...

Go back and look at his starts in double a and triple a, (youtube) and you'll see his wind up and delivery have changed drastically. His arm slot is over the top, and while he doesnt always use his legs as much as he should, this particular arm angle will keep him from having elbow issues. Now shoulder issues, that might be a different story. I dont agree that he was helped by the strike zone, the game tracker strike zone had him throwing more strikes than the ump gave him. I actually think he got squeezed a bit. For a first start, allowing one 1 run and 7 k's, i think that's pretty impressive.

He's a little stiff, but he certainly does use his legs.

That was great....told Ortiz "get the **** outta here" classic.....

His velo was avg 92 last night and went as high as 94....if he stays there he is a totally different pitcher but I think it was a case of the rivalry that got him there...

I dont pretend to expect that kind of performance from CC, but if he could just keep his **** together....well, that would be awesome.

Damn, you weren't kidding. Dickey looked like an ace.

Hmm, odd move. I get he's a veteran, and a former (well liked) guy, but he has also been terrible and has a terrible contract. I don't see him providing much help for a late WC push.
*Edit* looks like his numbers have improved since the AS break. The Rangers do need a righty bat, so I guess it makes some sense.

RA Dickey has been good but if you can get Toronto to score just one point, you have to come up with that win... Bad loss for the Yankees. Theyve had good success against Price but I dont like Nova against the Toronto bats..

Ugh, Hamels sucking it up again. Second poor start since the trade, and frankly he had several before that complete game right before the deadline. I really hope he hasn't lost it, or this will be yet another pitching trade bust.

Tuiasosopo hit 3 home runs last night. 16 home runs on the year after struggling with injury to start the year.

Would be starting in the Orioles outfield right now and putting up decent numbers.

Because no player has EVER been stashed in the minors for the wrong reasons right? *Cough Nelson Cruz cough*

Matt had some success in the big leagues. Posted a 112 wRC+ in 2013 for the Tigers.

Only reason he's not in the starting lineup everyday for the white sox is he's not on the 40 man.

One at bat too late for Girardi.. You see Nova struggling, just walked another Batter to load the bases, the velocity obviously going downhill, and you let him go up against Smoak where the obvious call is to hit it as hard as he can.. 4-0 Toronto..
