Fitzpatrick is a game-manager on a offense that the QB needs to be a game-changer. Smith might be a bonehead but he does have talent that can beat you at any time. And has against us. No, we are better off with Fitzpatrick QBing the Jets.
This is great news for New York. Geno was going to be benched after the first few games anyway. Fitzpatrick is the better QB by a long shot.
Not sure what you're smoking because I watched a game between our Fins and Geno's jets at the end of last season that says different.
Apparently the whole incident originated because of money. You have to ask yourself how come Geno Smith could not come up with 600 dollars for an event .He picked the wrong guy for the loan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikemefuna_Enemkpali
Really that Enemkpali was a red flag as Rex should had rejected him at the time. Glad that Todd Bowles did!
I cant think of one quarterback since Marino that would have been in that kind of mess. They all were limited in skill but never disrespected.
The details of this are crazy. And, it appears that Geno has a lot of blame to carry - sounds like he really messed over a teammate. It is not good for the 'Fins b/c I think the Jets are worse off with Geno. Fitzpatrick will be a care-taker and that will suit them much better. Just crazy.
hes incredibly average if that, bottom line, cant make all the throws..what makes him successful sometimes is his balls, he isnt afraid to throw as hard as he can to make a tight throw...hes small with a lack of arm strength..he should be broken in half by the 3rd quarter with this dline...I worry for the mans safety..geno could at least get out of trouble..this dude will not be able to throw over the interior of the line, grimes and taylor will measure the perimeter, pick 6 guranteed.
Ya know...I don't care who you are, or where your from, or what ya think ya know... THAT'S SOME REALLY FUNNY ISH MAN!!!! I BENN LAUGHIN MY *** OFFF ALL F.N. DAY BOUT THIS. IT'S LIKE JERRY SPRINGER...NFL EDITION!!! HIGH LARRY US!!!
And yeah, even tho I spent thousands to watch Geno post a perfect game against us last yr, I think they probably will be better with the plop plop fitz fitz.
This story is what it is - funny Jets news. I hope it is not what many of you are making out of it: a difference maker if we beat the Jets twice this year or not. After an outstanding off season and a very promising camp so far I am not ready to believe that this Jets Team can win against us - no matter who plays at QP (Geno? Fitz? C'mon).
Being a cheap bastard, probably equally involved in escalating the incident... Very rarely do QB's as bad as Geno get a 3rd chance to start after the first two were abysmal. It's unlikely he ever had the locker room to begin with.
IK Enemkpali draft profile describes 'violence in his punch' http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25266616/look-ik-enemkpali-draft-profile-describes-violence-in-his-punch
Because he let it get that far to where he got punched. Did you see the comments from some of the Jets defensive players? They are not happy with what happen and that someone on their side of the ball lost his job.
Heh.... NYJ have ALWAYS been like an annoying pest. They can have a 3-13 team and one of those wins will be against Miami.
If you have noticed, it wasn't a sucker punched, he was pointing into IK chest, and everyone says it was both of their faults. And not one player has said anything to back Smith! He has lost the locker room already
The River Monsters is entirely too appropriate for him........ Seriously how does any aspiring pro QB get that out of shape?
Sad to say that this topic was left in the main. Oh well....I'll keep my other opinions about it to myself.
Classic Rex. So Rex you can't help but respect it. Incognito, IK, Harvin. And still no QB. Yup, classic Rex.
What I wouldn't give to find out that Rex and IK were in on it the whole time... "Hey IK, want to switch to a better team, make your old team look stupid and help me in the process? I just need you to punch Geno in the face...no, trust me...it's going to work!"
not sure a qb can recover from something like this, especially if he didn't pay the debt back with a sense of urgency..6th rounders don't make a lot, 2nd rounders do..if he deserved the punch his career is over at least as a jet.
By saying he may not recover, are you referring to the locker room and his respect from his teammates? It sure seems like nobody's jumping up to defend Geno. You may have the right of it.
obviously we don't all the facts but when you have a leader like revis saying their both to blame I'm left to think that a qb in no way shape or form should put himself in a situation like that if he's intelligent enough, a qb has to be able to understand how to win his locker room and teammates over, this incident shows me that he left something linger that didn't have to be left lingering, so if there was one person who would even think about taking a shot at gene theres probably others, so when he comes back he's not gonna have the respect of the locker room 100 percent, when that happens theres too many things that could go wrong..players want and need to be lead to perform at their highest level.
Agreed. Quarterbacks should never put their hands into someone's face and pretty much tell them, "You aren't going to do anything about it."
