Dude, I watch a ton of soccer, and yes "whiffing less" means "scoring more". Just look at the US Nats. We've for who knows how long had a problem at striker. Even if a good pass from the midfield is made, the ball is often hit off-target.

Hell, that round of 16 game in the last WC against Belgium.. remember that? Chris Wondolowski missed an absolute sitter near the end of regulation time! Without that miss, we probably win that game and go to the QF's.

I don't watch too much, but playing I was always told scoring matters a hell of a lot more than making mistakes at my position, striker. Same could be said with drafting players. And you may not believe in the talent on this team and defense in particular that Ireland acquired, but my boy does. "Suh said there's more talent on this team than the No 1 Lions defense last year" according to Adam Beasley and keep in mind 7/11 starters on D this year are Ireland's guys.

Well, if you consider being demoted a good thing, I kind of see it as proof that he failed.

As far as Ireland hitting on some draft picks, there isn't anyone on these boards that couldn't draft some players that work out, you could draw players from a hat and you will get some talent, he failed at building a team, his draft history is vanilla, his FA history is a disaster outside a couple players, and we are still, quite literally paying for his mistakes, much of the massive 20+mil in dead cap space is due to his mistakes.

Suh knows, were loaded. In large part due to Ireland and the men he aquired during his tenure. Tannehill, Wake, Reshad Jones could become hall of famers and people will still call Ireland a failure lol.

What playoff games did we win under his management ? That alone was reason to get rid of him.....that isn't even taking into account he was one of the biggest douche bags in the NFL.

I think that was the reason for the rift between him and queasy lol. At least we can almost all agree Hickey has been an excellent hire. I guess I never cared about the GM's personality personally, I'm more interested in how Tannehill, Lamar, Rishard, Simms, Pouncy, Dallas, OV, Wake, Jelani, Koa, Optimus, Jamar, Reshad, and Shelby perform and so far I've been impressed. F****** Jordan!!!!!!!!

GM's personality mean's a lot when you are trying to woo free agents, and he did a woefully bad job at that.

cutting Dansby was a very very very dumb move, all in all

I am just curious if the coaching staff gave some inputs about the LB corps

Ireland was a failure because he couldn't construct a coherent roster. Yes he made some good picks, but overall he was unable to execute on a high level. It was a mishmash of bad decisions with an occasional sprinkling of a good one.

Philbin finally has the roster he wanted, let's see how this season turns out.
