He had significant reps at LT in the Carolina game and did not look terrible, He was mediocre but that's not bad for around here. And I don't know how many snaps he's had a LT in practice but I bet it wasn't many.
It doesn't appear Turner is ready to be a starter at any position on the OL. I would have no problem with him or Thomas playing LT this week, as long as Tannehill is sitting out the game. The Dolphins have been extremely fortunate that Tannehill has not sustained any serious injuries the past three seasons considering how many times he has been hit and sacked. Taking a chance playing him in a game which means absolutely nothing with a third string LT makes no sense at all. Let Tannehill sit out the game and hope that the LT position is manned by Albert or Fox once the regular season begins. Tannehill has nothing to prove in a preseason game against the Falcons. If Philbin plays Tannehill with the issues on the OL,especially at LT and Tannehill gets hurt, there goes the Dolphins season.
Sure. There are tons of bright minds here and elsewhere. But. Coaching experience isn't a substitute for being at practice and in the film room day in and day out. That's where the decisions are made. "These fans" are convinced they know who should be playing where and that the coaches are incompetent, based mainly on Twitter feeds & news reports. I think any ex coach would find that amusing.
If Tannehill gets hit twice he needs to be pulled from the game. We can't do to Tannehill what Jay Gruden did to RG3. Too much money invested on Tannehill to be behind a pathetically bad offensive line like that. Daniel Thomas at LT is a joke and that makes the entire offensive line bad.
Speaking of Jake Long I don't understand why we don't give him a call... he would be nice to have as a backup tackle.. edit. reading he's been in contact with the Giants for 3-4 weeks but still nothing.
Sitting Tannehill because you do not trust your lineman would be a profound mistake. Think about the affect on the team's state of mind. Everyone needs to stop formulating opinions based on fear. Fear is a poor way to make decisions.
I'm not sure that implies to the discussion on Dallas Thomas. Vast majority of opinions are that he sucks, shouldn't be on the team, etc. It's irrational, at best. Ironically, the consensus is that the Dolphins should get rid of this young, developing player, and replace him with Evan Mathis, who was unwisely cut by the Dolphins, while still developing.
Billy Turner, Jason Fox, Dallas Thomas. All names that just indicate pain and suffering to me. What ever happened to Samson Satelle?
Not me I wanted to stay status quo keep developing the players we have in the house and stay away from Evan Mathis but that was just my opinion
Really, I get nuthin for that? Not even a buh rum bum? I thought that was a pretty good one liner myself. Tough crowd, but don't worry. I'll be here all week.
