It is the worst fight song I've ever heard. How much you bet that if you are at the game and we just scored a touchdown, you're going to be singing that song like you are out of your mind? I know I would.

I absolutely love it. Banjo solo for the win!

    Bring it on!

Only thing needed it to re-master it or somehow improve the audio quality. And someone needs to put a new video together for it with the new squad, new unis and new stadium. :)

T-Pain tried that a few years ago but IMO it still needs to be revised.

Well the T-Pain thing was basically a new song. This one just needs the audio cleaned up on it. Not sure you could do too much without the master tracks.

I don't mean re-invent it, necessarily. I suppose they could re-record it. If they do try something I think they should keep the heart of it intact. Maybe swap out the banjo for an electric guitar, but keep it clean sounding, upbeat.

I love the original though. My preference would be just a re-mastered or re-recorded version of the original.

Yes. Because nothing says Miami/South Florida like banjo's.

I always bump the fight song on my way into the stadium. I don't care how corny it is, I love it. I hate the stupid "fins to the left, fins to the right" one they play now, it is awful. Keep our normal fight song, the whole stadium claps and sings it until the next kick off.

I could see Jimmy Buffett pulling off a re-recording.

We stole it from the Oilers.... But they're gone now.

When that comes on at sun life it just feels so right ! How can it be wrong ? The crowd can usually take it over too ! I hope to be screaming that a whole lot this year and I hope everyone's with me!

Hey, Florida is the home to many of the notable Southern Rock groups of the '70s.

Sure, Tampa, Jacksonville, Daytona. Cant think of a single southern Rock band out of South Florida. And none of them I remember used banjo's!

The song writer originally wanted the Oilers to buy the song but since they did not want to pay for it, the newbee Dolphins picked it up.....dont know if there was any payment involved....doubtful as original owner Joe Robbie was a notorious cheapskate.

Its a corny but catchy song.Take pot shots at it but its our and maybe others ....song,:pointlol:

I think Skynyrd and the Outlaws used banjos in a few of their lesser known songs, but I get your point.

I feel ya man. Like I said earlier, if I was at the game and I hear that song playing, I'd be singing like it was going out of style. I just don't care for the song.

I understand what you saying. I'd probably do the same thing if I was going to the stadium.

Yeah it is catchy...but I'd like to see what another version of it would sound like.

So how many of you remember the Houston Oilers? They had a pretty good fight song, check it and tell me what you think.

Naw I'd much rather them play this song than the "Fins to the left, Fins to the right"

At least the 71' fight song has history. Jimmy Buffet is just bad.
