Interesting because they came last based on my rubric as well. They were the lowest rated; I had them at Potato.
Any time there is any hype around this team we fall flat on our face. And there seems to be an abundance of it. I expect to beat the Skins but nobody should be overlooked by this team, and fans of Fins should most certainly know better.
I like Miami over Washington but not by a wide margin at this point. Not until I know who's playing LT. Will Jamar Taylor be healthy? Washington has two physical backs. If anything crazy happens, blocked punt, TD on a KO return, tipped ball, pick 6, in their favor, this "easy game" could turn into a tight contest. Especially on the road in week 1. Any win is good enough for me, whether it's 38-6 or 13-10.
I understand that us as Phin fans, we should never overlook any opponent but I mean, c'mon man! Its the Redskins, they are literally expected to be the worse team in the NFL, they are simply horrible and this is gonna be a statement game for us when we pick them apart, piece by piece, brick by brick.
I don't fault local writer for being a bit of a homer before the season starts to keep his readers happy. But the Redskins ****ing blow.
That's what Cowboys fans thought on Monday night when they lost to the Redskins, at home, vs a third string QB.
Division game, big difference my man. RG3 and Kirk are equally awful, only difference is RG3 can move but make no mistake, Cousins is an interception machine. If Colt McCoy was starting (as sad as that is), they might of had a bats chance in hell of winning the ball game. I dont know where this Kirk Cousins love comes from, I feel like peoples hatred for RG3 make them imagine that Kirk is a good QB, when he is actually awful.
sounds like a guy who hasnt actually seen the dolphins play and is going off a season preview article published in june
This will probably be Washington fans' one chance at true optimism before they actually see their awful product on the field. I guess as a writer you can say whatever you want until the team actually does something that counts. Though I love me some Alfred Morris, this is not a good team at all. I don't think it's going to be close going into the 4th Q.
Visited a Redskins forum to see what the general opinion on the game is and lot are actually predicting a Redskins loss, but then I came across this post: Where in the hell did hear the bolded part? Here's the link, by the way: http://es.redskins.com/topic/392485...ction-thread-kicking-2015-off-in-style/page-2
Alfred is a solid RB but he is very far from spectacular, a nice middle of the pack RB. Unfortunately, I think RBs with Alfreds style of running will have a hard time with our DL, its the scat back type RBs that scare me this year, I think we will have no problem with tough runners.
Kirk Cousins is not a good quarterback. Kirk Cousins does not deal with pressure well. Kirk Cousins is not going to take off and run for 40 yards if somebody goofs an assignment. The Redskins are not a good football team. If we lose this game, I want Joe Philbin's nuts on a platter.
My god, they are over there predicting 35+ points on our D... since when did Kirk Cousins become Dan Marino? I mean, give me a break, I cant wait till we destroy these guys 42-7.., I seriously cant wait until RT17 lights up their pathetic secondary to the tune of 350+ and 2-4 TDs..
Wow.. half those posters are delusional. And the one you quoted is just probably making stuff up. I think deep down inside most of those guys know they have a bad team, but can't come to admit it until there's no denying it.
These threads are always enjoyable. http://es.redskins.com/topic/392485-redskins-dolphins-prediction-thread-kicking-2015-off-in-style/ To be fair some of them seem quite rational.
Lambs to the slaughter. Sorry, I haven't felt this good about a Miami Dolphins team in years. I really hope I am not being overconfident, but I cant help it!
I got it at -2.5 2 weeks ago when a friend went to Vegas, $2300 to get back $4390, im flying to Vegas next Fri pretty confident that on Sunday I'll be picking up enough money to have a foursome with Vegas' finest escorts.
I read a pretty interesting article a few weeks back. It its analysis there wasn't much difference between Kirk Cousins and RGIII in whether they help a team to win. The difference was how they hurt the team. RGIII would make big turnovers to cancel out his big plays. Cousins didn't commit turnovers but hurt the team by not making positive plays.
Cousins is the king of turnovers. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/p...ant-beware-kirk-cousins-is-a-turnover-machine Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
I'm not disagreeing. Just saying a win is a win and come December no one will care what the score was. If the coaches play it close to the vest in preparation for tougher opponents would you have an issue with that?
I understand what you're saying but I hate this mindset. This isn't college football. Win by 30 or win by 1, just win the game.
im not cocky or one that usually **** talks but there is no way in hell the dolphins should lose to the redskins. i dont care if its by 50 points or 1 point the dolphins should take this game.
The Dolphins went from 1-15 in 2007 to 11-5 in 2008. So it certainly isn't a ridiculous thought from Redskin fans that their team could have a similar turnaround. I believe the Dolphins are a superior team, compared to the Redskins. I think they should win the game next week rather easily. Yet at this time of the year, most every fan feels their team has a chance of making the playoffs and that is the way it should be. If you can't feel positive about your team heading into the season, you might as well find other things to occupy your time during the games.
We should win....then again I thought the same thing back when we played a winless Buccaneers team...I mean I'm not even sure we'll have the best coach in the sidelines next Sunday.
While true, that is rare. In reality more teams go 8-8 to the playoffs than 4-12 to the playoffs. It is pretty ridiculous thought for Redskin fans to believe their team could have a similar turnaround because it is something that happens very rarely. However I do agree with your final conclusion. Just as a person who is looking at both the teams and not as a fan, I think Miami should crush them. I also think the Raiders would beat them, and the Jaguars would probably beat them and the Colts would destroy them, I could go on.
We have not proved anything. Why should they take us seriously. I think we are going to crush them, but their attitude is reasonable.
To be honest, I just watched the Redskins 3rd preseason game versus the Ravens, and their starters weren't as bad as I imagined. Kirk Cousins can put together a well designed drive or two, but he makes the occasional head-scratching decisions which result in turnovers. He actually handled the Ravens pass rush pretty well on some plays and got the ball out of his hands pretty quickly, which might bode well for them against us. The Redskins front 7 also made some plays in the backfield and blew up a few run plays. That said, I think we come out on top, though maybe not with the point spread that some are imagining. I'm guessing something like 24-13... I have a feeling our offense might take a couple games to adjust with all the new faces, OL tweaking, and etc.
I'll be there in person. Me and my brother got tickets and we'll be representing the FIns. I'm looking forward to seeing the stadium clearing out around halfway through the 4th.
Cousins can be a good QB. He will be good, but he will then have the tendency to throw a bone head pick. He gets overly confident and will try to hard then eventually throw that pick. He was like that back in college as well, but he can be quite solid for stretches. Suh, Wake and the rest of them have to make him eat turf.
