It doesn't matter. In today's NFL, your nickel guy is for all intent and purposes, a starter. The top three CB's were obvious since early camp.
I'm glad as well. Something about Taylor always worries me. Like most of he D has been, he seems to break down at the most inopportune times or he'll make a great play and follow it up with a major wiff. At best, it's nothing really special. I think or hope that McCain has more potential.
Ugh our secondary is my biggest concern on this team. I have a feeling this is what will cost use games
In case you didn't notice, basically 50% of our starting lineup is from the Ireland era. But never mind that, Jamar isn't starting week 1 so yea he's a bust lol. How bout that Willie D making the squad as well? When OV, Miller, and Shelby get paid like they should next year (just like Odrick and Clay), maybe then you'll realize the talent Ireland acquired for this team, but I doubt it hahaha. It's cool though, you and the majority of NFL fans are in for a real lesson this year in regards to this squad, can....not.....wait......... Jeff Ireland draftees (13, 9 starters): Rishard Matthews, Dallas Thomas, Mike Pouncey, Dion Sims, Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Miller,Olivier Vernon, Dion Jordan, Jelani Jenkins, Koa Misi, Will Davis, Reshad Jones, Jamar Taylor. Jeff Ireland free agents/trades (8, 2 starters): Matt Moore, Cameron Wake, Derrick Shelby, AJ Francis (?), Brent Grimes, Jordan Kovacs (?), Michael Thomas, John Denney. Dennis Hickey draftees (12, 4 starters): Devante Parker, Matt Hazel, Jarvis Landry, Jamil Douglas, Billy Turner, Ja'Wuan James, Jay Ajayi, Jordan Phillips, Terrence Fede, Tony Lippett, Walt Aikens, Bobby McCain. Dennis Hickey free agents/trades (23, 7 starters): Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills, Branden Albert, Jason Fox, Jacques McClendon, Jeff Linkenbach, Jordan Cameron, Logan Thomas, Damien Williams, LaMike James, Ndamukong Suh, CJ Mosley, Earl Mitchell, Spencer Paysinger, Neville Hewitt, Kelvin Sheppard, Chris McCain, Zach Vigil, Brice McCain, Zack Bowman, Louis Delmas, Matt Darr, Andrew Franks.
I like how Taylor tackles on the edge. He may be our best CB in terms of run support. I expect that even if Brice starts he'll kick inside to the slot on the 60%-70% of the plays we use three CBs on.
OK.. so you think we'll do real well when 50% of our starting lineup is from the Ireland era. Now.. why didn't we do well when nearly 100% of our starters was from the Ireland era?
