Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert removed the mystery and uncertainty Tuesday – he’s starting Sunday at Washington.

"We all know the answer,” Albert said when asked if he’s starting.

“I don’t think I’ve got to say nothing too much more. I’ve been starting with the first team all week. It’s continued. So there goes (your) answer. I’m tired of everybody asking me. Y’all got the answer now.”

    Great news!!

I hope he isn't rushed back too soon but its hopefully a boost if he's in playing shape.

I hope he last 16 games. Actually I'll just hope for at least 11 or 12. I don't wanna be too greedy.

No stretch run if the team starts out poorly. If the team starts out losing a few early games, things could pile on quickly.

Won't be a stretch run if we aren't in a good position. Some of you guys forget this is the NFL where every game matters. Not MLB. Take Washington lightly and their going to punch us in the face. We will be wondering what the hell happened when we are 0-1.

If the game is out of reach in the 4th quarter - say 31 - 10, would taking him out be an option? Lots of pluses and minuses to that decision.

If he's healthy he should play. Problem is none of us know exactly how healthy he is so it's a bit difficult for us to have informed opinions on this.

Hopefully he's at 100%. We're gonna need him this year bigtime, we all saw how things fell apart last year, and it sure doesn't look like our depth got any better if he does go down.

This has potential for disaster written all over it. I appreciate his sense of urgency - but he's not thinking logically here. Neither is the team.

How many teams have ever gone winless? 2? Ever? Don't just count definite wins. We aren't the Seahawks yet. Especially without Albert.

I agree, and I don't get the mentality. The Redskins have a lot of speed, a good tailback, and a QB with experience in the NFL. The overconfidence is a bit much. While I'm expecting us to win, a blowout is an unlikely result. Any given Sunday.

They have speed. They do have good tailbacks.

They have a QB with experience of playing poorly in the NFL.

IMO, Cousins is a step above John Beck, however not by much.

Same could be said about Geno Smith. We're a better team than last year, but nothing is given in the NFL.

Doubt itll be out of reach. My guess is we win by one and a half scores. This will definitely be a four quarter game. We arent blowing out washington at their house in the kickoff of the NFL season.

I agree with you there. Despite the fact I think we will put that whuppin on them, we can't assume we can just walk all over them and they will simply submit to our will. We must force them to submit. Make them understand they aren't ready for this team. We got to bring it!!

I agree. The guy has healed from the pain and surgery, rehabbed for months, been medically cleared, cleared for contact, and has also tested it with good results. If anything he should play to get into pure football shape to get this season rolling in the right direction. This is a playoff season. All in!

He knows what's best for himself.

I've already explained this a few times over.

    - Only 10months post-MAJOR knee surgery
    - Poor conditioning of athlete prior to injury
    - Age concerns
    - Prior nagging injury concerns

Fact is the guy never tested it in live games in the preseason. His sense of urgency is due to the manic worries over the state of the O-line and while I appreciate his effort/competitiveness - the chance of him re-injuring that knee or another injury erupting from favoring that leg are much higher.

Lemme weigh the risk/reward here ...... allow him some more time to get more mentally/physically adjusted before the bye? Or throw him to the wolves against D-Lines like the Jet/Bills. Hell even the Jags have a competent D-line.

I'd rather he take his time given how important he is - especially for the stretch run of the season. Him rushing back is something a coach on the hot seat would more favorable to.

All of the above could have been said about Daunte Culpepper in 2006. Or Louis Delmas in 2015.

Some people are "medically cleared", and rushed back too soon from a knee injury.

Cousins had 3 games with 100 rating or more last year. Let's just hope for a win. Demanding a blowout is asking for trouble IMO.

Yes, like Brian Hartline & Brandon Gibson, who played like crap when they came back from knee surgery. Or Dustin Keller, who never played again.

The point is, Brandon Albert could barely walk during the offseason. And there is enormous pressure to get him on the field, especially with Fox being out. Maybe it will work out for Brandon Albert. But the situation seems unusually high risk.

Not to bring back bad memories, but remember the Monday Night Miracle? Dolphins were leading 30-7 going into the 4th quarter (bigger point differential than the hypothetical 31-10 Finatik brought up). Jets score 30 points in the 4th and end up winning the game in OT.

Point is simple: don't ever give up unless something is (close to) mathematically impossible to do. You keep Tannehill and all healthy starters in the game until it really cannot be won even if we get lucky bounces.

With our schedule early on, we are somewhat afforded the opportunity to ease him back into the fold.

Demanding a blowout doesn't have 1 bit of impact on what the team does. So "let's" not assume to bring everybody else into our own negativity. You can hope for whatever you want.
