I am not getting too excited yet. I think this weekend against the Socks will tell us where we really are as a team.
3 games in Boston....still early either way, but would be nice to see if this continues a little longer to keep the pedal to the floor.
Ian Kennedy was an out away from a no-no in the minors (2nd basemen made an error on the play)....nice to see him snapping back. Hope he comes up soon, and we can send Rasner down. Would love to rid ourselves of Ponson, but he has a knack for getting rediculous run support for the time being.
Nah... If he is staked to his customary 8.3 runs per game....I like our chances for the sweep! Love the roll we are on.....funny what happens when new players have to step up and prove themselves and wake up from 1st half slumbers.
LOL, looks like he needed more. Oh well, need Rasner (oh boy) to show up tonight. Need to stop this losing streak.
yeah, this has been the season of missed chances so far....we constantly lose on the same night that TB and/or Sox lose. Then we seem to win when they win. Loved taking 2 of 3 from Sox in Fenway. Fat Ponson is temporary. Need to get back on the winning track and hold our own at the Stadium.
2 nights in a row the Yanks give up huge innings and fail to play smart baseball. Tonights comeback was a tease...and Mo's serving up a solo HR in the 9th ended up being the difference. Its a shame...we fail to pick up ground on a consistent basis!
Welcome to Joba Time!!!!! Ok, the balance of this season just got very interesting and exciting. I cant wait...and it all starts tonight with LA-A coming to town with their new hitter! Let's get it on!!!!!
One simple fact. The Yankees have won more World Series than any other team has even played in. Red Sox are getting the man love from ESPN like their poster child Tebow.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like Wang is done for the regular season. I know you all wish it could be Ponson instead but sadly, it is not: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...joe_girardi_chienming_wang_will_miss_res.html
Karstens pitched 6 innings of shutout ball today for the win against the cubs. Looks to have good stuff I liked how he popped the mitt.
Not surprised really.....and as the article stated, OCTOBER is a possibility Plus, again, it emphasizes the depth we have in the system, so many young solid arms to work with, and mix in some older vet arms looking for a return to glory ~ hopefully so we can lose them in FA for picks, or trade them if another team sees value. Wang's absence isn't all that significant at this point in time. I still am looking for MLB innings by our young arms to get them set for next year as well.
Old timers day was great! Willy got a Great ovation! My seats were great too! it was not suppose to be but i got lucky and no one kicked me and my brother out till the 5th, then we got other seats which were closer after that so i was happy...ill post pics later!
Great win yesterday. Good to see the bats come alive. However, need more consistent pitching. Moose had to find the fountain of youth!
What a win. Not going to get that many errors from the Angels that often, but I will take it! Need a strong road trip!!
Ouch, lost one in the 9th AND Joba left the game clutching his arm. How many starters can this team have hurt? OMG.
News: Joba Chamberlain has been placed on the 15-day DL and RHP Chris Britton was recalled from Triple-A Scranton, according to LoHud.com. The website is speculating Chamberlain could be out for the season, but they have no details on what Dr. James Andrews has to say. DL stint is fine....out for year not so much!
If he went to Andrews for a second opinion, that means he has something bad, so I would say he is done.
An October without the Yankees? It could happen?? Absoutely could happen as it seems right now the way the team has been so inconsistent and injuries have hampered them all year, I know a lot has to change for us to make the playoffs at this rate. Anything is possible, but making the playoffs has never solely been the goal, so simply making the playoffs is not this years goal either. We all know one thing....you cant accomplish the Yankees annual goal without making the playoffs. Hopefully they give it a run to get to the dance...if injuries are healed, and performance returns to the expected level and not just a hoped-for level, then yeah I do think we can make the playoffs, and if healthy, no reason we cant win it all ~ AGAIN!.
Well the Yankees are saying there's not much damage, obviously they are going to down play it no matter how good/bad the injury is. They don't want to tip their hand if its serious because then everyone will know they need starting pitchers and the price tag will jump up. Again it could be nothing or it could be something major (although the baseball fan in me hopes not as I never want to see anyone get hurt). Time will tell. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's back by September or if he's out until 2009, considering his injury history.
We might get some positive news: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080808/ap_on_sp_ba_ne/bba_yankees_chamberlain
