So how is that working for Tannehill's sack total?

Its amazing how these arguments creep up from time to time. No one that gets paid to scout or work in an NFL front office would pick Long over Ryan knowing what we know now. I"m a big Tannehill fan but he hasn't shown that he's as good as Ryan yet, he just hasn't. Do I hope he's better? Sure. Do I think he can be better? Yes. But he hasn't gotten there yet and we haven't been as good as the Falcons were in Ryans first few years either. Ryan's teams won 13 games twice, I mean good God I was not even 1 years old the last time we won 13 games in a season.

You mean we might not have made the playoffs? Or maybe we'd have been mediocre those couple years we were bad enough to draft...oh wait, who DID we draft those years?

You have no argument. You're flinging poo like an enraged monkey.

lol. Matt Ryan is a bum and we never would have gotten a superior and younger talent in Tannehill had we drafted him. When Tannehill takes us deep into the playoffs and perhaps even wins a SB, and Matt Ryan is sitting at home with his garbage squad, maybe then you'll understand my logic but still probably not. Who gives a s*** how many times they won 13 games, Ryan can't get a team over the hump and he's 30 now, Tannehill gives us a better shot. I'm a Virginia Tech fan as well, and at B.C this dude was nothing special either just like in the pro's. He's all hype but like in the Monday night game, he continues to show he's average but not great. Terrible interceptions, lack of athleticism and an elite arm is why a superior football mind compared to all of us in Parcells passed him over for a tackle :sidelol:. Nice argument, the 30 year old sure showed me with those two horrendous picks on Monday night.

I just think that if we compare the teams (Falcons in MR's first few years & the Dolphins in RT's first few years) and we come away with the major disparity being at QB, then we're not really looking at any other position in that evaluation.

Sparano played Long whilst he was injured and when the season was already lost. He never was the same after that .

That was one of the byproducts of keeping a lame duck HC in place.Sparano was interviewing for his next job and didnt care about our players health or Sucking for Luck .

Bad coaching resulted in a 4 yr career instead of the 10 yr career we should have expected from a first round pick.

In retrospect Matty Ice would have been a better pick

All I'm saying is that Parcells made the right choice in selecting Long because of the ripple effect taking Ryan would have had on our team. You're the one saying Parcells f***** up, I question that because Parcells has/had more info/knowledge in his left nut than you posses in your entire being (like I trust you lol). And based on the fact Ryan is in his 30's, just had 2 horrible picks in their home opener against a suspect D, and has never been to a Superbowl, I'm good with waiting on Tannehill. Let's see how there careers play out from here. I know we will never agree on this, but if/when Tannehill's career surpasses Ryan's, I'll know this never would have been possible had we been stupid and taken Ryan. But it's too complicated for you to understand so just forget about it. Ryan's career>Long's so it was a bad pick, just keep telling yourself that while we ascend and he declines.

Matt Ryan would never have been able to play in the Wildcat.

Stating Tannehill is better than Ryan doesn't make it so. Perhaps one day Tannehill will eclipse Ryan as an NFL QB, but so far he hasn't even led this organization to a winning record as the starting QB for the past three years.
As you stated, WHEN Tannehill takes the Dolphins deep into the playoffs or to the SB, then an argument will be able to be made that Tannehill is better than Ryan. Right now though, Ryan has proved to be the better NFL QB
    so far.
In regards to the two interceptions Ryan had in the game this past weekend. The only difference between Ryan and Tannehill last weekend is the defensive players on the Eagles made the interceptions when they had the opportunity.
The Redskins defensive backs dropped the two balls that Tannehill threw right to them. If the Redskins DB's could actually catch the ball, Tannehill would easily have had two terrible interceptions also.

Yea but he's 3 years older, can't make those mistakes. Tannehill imo will surpass him, and I for one know we never would have grabbed him had we selected Ryan which I'm glad we did not. Sure we got lucky to land Tannehill and had we not drafted him then Ryan obviously would have been the better pick. But in hindsight, I'm glad we passed which created the void later to be filled by Tann the Man, that's all I'm saying. Tannehill>Ryan.
