Is it really so tough to admit that people are holding Tannehill to a standard that they don't hold other QBs to?

I think Luck is going to have a great career and might be a potential hall of famer. However that is more on his potential than what he has actually done on the field. I have seen glimpses of greatness, however I have also seen glimpses of Eli Manning. Luck has not EARNED the benefit of the doubt. He needs to reign in his interceptions and play better at teams that are not in the AFC South.

The book is still out on Luck. If he doesn't improve he will be the next Culter.

Disclaimer: I am not saying he isn't going to improve or that he is bad. I am just saying, he still needs to prove it on the field that he is a top quarterback, and he hasn't. He probably will, however NFL doesn't have the Hall of Probably Fame

Who cares?? It's about what he does on Sundays not what ppl on a message board think? You take it way to personal.

C'mon bruh. The guy has played with an o-line that has been a mess just like ours, very little as far as a running game, and a pathetic excuse for a defense. Yet they went to the playoffs two years in a row. That's what I meant by earning the right.

Why should body of work mean anything when looking at someone's game performance?

I hope he would have went to the playoffs two years in a row since he plays six cupcakes for a division schedule....

Because you're isolating incidences as if to go AH HA! SEE! .... it doesn't work like that. Singular events do not define trends.

    There's that "adjustment" again.

You forget he's won games in the playoffs - 3 in fact. So if your argument is he can't win vs. talented teams then you're failing.

Well, since I get accused by you all the time of not being balanced in talking about Tannehill...yet it's really the detractors who are not in the least bit balanced. They compare Tannehill to other QBs, but don't criticize other QBs for the things they criticize Tannehill for. It's crazy.

It's ok to admit that the evaluation by many has not been accurate or fair. If we can start there, then we can find middle ground in these discussions.

Ryan Tannehill is having a better season than Andrew Luck.

Body of work earns the right to have a different standard. That's basically what you said, you just don't want to say it.

This isn't about who's going to the hall of fame. This is about how tannehill(or whoever) plays in each game.

but two games Ina row is starting a trend

Body of work earns a player the right for fans to not sh*t themselves when they have a bad game. Has nothing to do with double standards.

You think he would still have the same success if he played in the afc east and we went to the south?

honest question. Considering his last three games were all loses to afc east teams

Don't fall in the trap dude!

Tanne himself could come in here and say he needs to improve his game and they'd argue with him.

    Huh?

Tannehill had been compared to many QBs, from Brady, to Rodgers, to Manning, to Wilson, to Henne, and many in between. Yet not a person on this board is holding Wilson, Luck, Rodgers, etc to the standard they are holding Tannehill to.

It's ok, don't admit the double standard. It will still exist.

It's ok to have a different standard, I'm just saying, its literally a double standard. People will obviously disagree on how much body of work anyone except for elites tilts the standard one way or another. I wouldn't freak out if my QB was Brady and he had a bad game. But literally counting every missed throw a QB makes is ridiculous and seemingly only something Fins fans do.

Anyone like to play the match game? I love the match game. Let’s play!

2012 was a great rookie quarterback class. Match the 2012 player, to the 2015 stats. Begin!

    A. Andrew Luck
    B. Robert Griffin III
    C. Ryan Tannehill
    D. Russel Wilson

    1. 0-2 record, 71.8% completions, 457 yards, 3 TDs, 2 ints, Rating 91.1
    2. 1. 1-1 record, 66.7% completions, 585 yards, 3 TDs, 0 ints, Rating 101.7
    3. 0-0 record, 0% completions, 0 yards, 0 TDs, 0 ints, Rating 0.0
    4. 0-2 record, 54.7% completions, 493 yards, 3 TDs, 5 ints, Rating 58.9

I'll admit it. I am a Dolphin fan. Of course I hold him to a higher standard. Watching Marino's entire career certainly doesn't help his cause.

Tannehill's play, more than anyone else, determines whether Miami gets to the playoffs and how far they go if they are to get there.

As for the other QBs, I could care less about Bortles or Taylor or Fitzgerald's inadequacies. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest if the Jags, Bills, Jets, or any other team doesn't make the playoffs.

Why is it so hard for others to admit they have fallen so in love with Tannehill they are blinded at making an objective analysis of his level of play?

Those QBs arent picked apart here for two reasons, one? THIS IS A DOLPHINS BOARD, two most of the guys you mention are proven Qbs. This is the biggest mistake you guys make, trying to compare a good QB to a great one.

Again its Matt Stafford and those guys who are slightly better or slightly worse than Ryan. Thats the group of qbs that NEED defended. Rodgers, Luck Brady?? Are top level Qbs who shouldnt wven be brought up in comparison, because there is no comparison.

Dont forget Brandon Weeden, he's the only one with a perfect record and has been MUCH more efficient in 2015 than those 3 combined.

Bet the Colts wish they couldve gotten that 22nd pick instead of the 1st that year.
