Well, I'm ready to put the disappointing loss to Jacksonville behind me.

Here come the new and improved Buffalo Bills. Obviously, they were outplayed and out-coached against the Pats, but we know they're a very talented team on both sides of the ball.

Fact is, we haven't been good enough so far this year. Both players and coaches. I'm hoping that loss lights a fire under us and we come out during this week and into Sunday ready to roll.

Home opener. Newly renovated stadium. Division opponent coming in. It has all the ingredients for an energized team. Listening to the players speak after the Jaguars game, it's quite evident they're pissed, and they should be. As tough as a loss as it was, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise to get this team playing and coaching good football.

It won't be easy this week. We know that. Rex can get his guys to play. They've got a lot of talent. I'm sure we'll hear some chirping this week from Buffalo, as we usually do when Rex is in charge. Honestly, I hope they do. Give us some bulletin board material. Not that we should need it. We all know this is an important game.

I'm interested to see how we respond to the adversity this week. A lot of people down after the loss. Home opener against a tough division opponent should help fuel the fire burning inside both the players and coaches. They know they have a lot to prove.

We are also pretty banged up. Cam Wake, Reshad Jones, Olivier Vernon, Brice McCain, Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Miller, Branden Albert, Jordan Cameron, and Dion Sims are all hurting right now. That's a hell of a list. I hope to hear good news as the week progresses with all of them. Should be a fun week, and hopefully a successful game. It's always sweet to beat Rex.

P.S. No doubt Incognito and Clay are made captains for this game.

Jets did not look good. As bad as they made Luck look, if Gore doesn't fumble at the goal line they maybe win who knows. Their offense is nothing to be scared of, though their D looks decent.

Lmao they have looked pretty good the first 2 weeks. Ok if the Colts score they still hold them to 14 points. But they only allowed them to score 7 points. Luck will put up 30 on this defense if Bortles can get 23.

You never know, perhaps this loss to Jacksonville will be a spark of embarrassment that lights a fire under the Dolphins' asses and they win every remaining game of the season.

I'd like to think that but...

I don't trust this coaching staff to beat UTSA!

Rex ALWAYS plays us well @ Miami, and usually wins. Nothing this team/staff has shown has me "expecting" a win. The one thing that gives me hope is Tyrod vs our secondary. If RT gets sacked less than 6 times I'll be surprised.

Still hopeful for a win...just on blind faith.

The Bills are going to kill us. Our offensive line is excrement, our defensive line is overrated and our DBs, aside from Grimes, are horrible. They are going to Sodomize the Dolphins and Tanneyhill will be lucky to make it out of the game still walking.

Yes, I do. Listening to the postgame interviews, they certainly sounded angry. I don't know if it'll mean anything, but maybe that loss was an eye-opener for everyone to kick it up a notch or two.

If we can't get pressure on Tyrod, or Fitzpatrick, both those guys are going to make our defense look like a Pee Wee football team. Our offensive line can't stop anyone, I expect both the Bills and the Jets to be in the backfield all day long. Run game will be nonexistent, and it will be up to Tannehill to make chicken salad from chicken ****. Did anyone like how Luck looked last night? Just wait for the Jets to do that to Tannehill, but even worse, they'll be rushing 4 guys, instead of 5-7 guys, and Tannehill will have zero guys to throw to downfield.

I'm no fan of the Jets, but in all honesty were probably going to get our *** whipped in the division this year if the first few games are any indications.

I watched the game last night and noticed an intensity to their game. They seemed to give a damn. They played them close and aggressive. We look like we sit 20 yards of any receiver.

We could honestly be the 4th place team in our division. I know it's been two games but man we look pretty crappy and the harder games are coming.

I sorta think even though it's still early how the team responds after last weeks loss will set the tone for the season.
If they can get a win they have something to build on.
If they don't it's going to a tough going for coach Queezy.

What game were you watching jdang. Youre a true homer if you dont think the jets didnt look good yesterday. Their defense would give us problems and they dont have their best defensive tackle playing until week 5. We will be lucky to score six points against that defense. And theyre winning with a journeyman quarterback.

And if Fitzpatrick doesn't try to force that ball to Marshall (7 catches 101 yards 1 TD) maybe the Jets win by 20. But I agree that the Jets offense is not very scary.

I think Miami beats the Bills this week. I am not sold on their QB. If Miami stuffs the run, they should be all set.

We lost to Blake freaking Bortles man. I don't think we are in a position to badmouth any other team's QB after that.

I like Blake Bortles, i dont know why people talk about him like he is a bust or Blaine Gabbert. The guy was a top 3 pick just a year ago and as much talent as any mid tier quarterback. people are going to start accepting Bortles and Derek Carr as top quarterbacks in the next year or 2.

Not to derail the topic, but when Luck wasn't turning the ball over the Colts moved the ball pretty well. The Jets didn't register a single sack (came close a bunch of times). Let's not anoint the Jets defense just yet. Cro didn't look good at all. He's been burned for 2 TD's in 2 games so far. Luck killed the Colts last night.

When Luck WASN'T turning the ball over? He was turning it over all night. He had like two good drives, one of which was erased by the Gore fumble. Of course, I believe he nearly threw a pick on that driver earlier, but I could be wrong on that. I wouldn't say that Luck "killed" anyone last night.

It's true...it is still VERY early and the early part of the season isn't the best predictor on how the season will go. It's just how the NFL goes.

However...going strictly by what our team has shown so far...it doesn't look good...and I think everyone here knows how much of an optimist I am...they shook me last week...I don't know how to feel, this has never happened to me (maybe it should have, but hasn't).

Two plays...two whole stinking plays are burned into my head out of several qualifying bad plays. Both by RT17, and both to Landry, neither of which make one bit of sense to me, please tell me if I'm wrong or missing something, but:

    1. RT to Landry for a 7 yard loss, deep in the RZ against the Skins.

    2. RT to Landry for 7 yards, 1st and 10 on their own 20, 40 seconds to go and no timeouts. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD!

These plays have me really questioning whether he's football smart or not...leaning toward not.

You're not missing anything. However, I'd add that each year the list of things Tannehill does poorly decreases, so maybe we just have to wait on this one.

What bugs me is this is the kind of thing you should be able to teach/learn over a few years at most. I once again think the coaches are partially at fault here for not teaching the 2-minute offense/good decision-making with little time left.

I think Tannehill has consistently shown he runs a 2-minute offense pretty well to very well. I've listened to family for years (from Marino as QB through Tannehill) yell why throw it short of the marker??? But, in watching other teams play, it just happens over and over. Both plays you'd argue should've gone elsewhere obviously, but if you think about the Packers last year, the fake spike throw from Rodgers was seriously dumb because a simple tackle ended the game. He's far and away the best QB in the game IMO, it just happens. I mean even Brady had that 4th down play against the Colts he threw short hoping for the guy to make a play (even though he probably had a headset in the helmet telling him where to throw )

I don't get why we don't use more hurry-up "2 minute style" offense honestly, I think we'd all of a sudden play a lot better on offense with a lot more urgency, the running game would pick up, and we'd have more of an identity.

Hey, watch it there buddy. That's my school and you're dissing on Coker. But ya, the team isn't that good because the program is still building. Plus they have to recruit all the leftovers from the other established TX universities (UT, A&M, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, North Texas, etc) plus the OK and LA schools. Sure there's a lot of talent coming out of TX, it's hard to be about 15th best option.

The first one IIRC, he was getting chased out of the pocket and almost sacked, so he threw the ball to the nearest outlet. Was it a mistake? Sure. But IMO, it wasn't as bad as you're making it out to be. He probably misjudged how far Landry was from the LOS and how close other defenders were from him. Running for your life increases the chances of this happening.

And also, how many times have we seen Landry turn a 2 yard gain into a first down? I'm guessing that was his line of thinking. Throw it to Landry and let him fight for a few yards. But yes, he screwed up and maybe next time he'll think twice before doing the same thing.

The second play I didn't see it as that bad either. DB's were lined up deep to prevent the long play. He took what the defense gave him and quickly spiked the ball (though it could have been with more urgency). I was actually madder when he tried to throw it deep instead of to Landry near the sideline on the last play. If RT had worked the sidelines more he may have made it to FG range in less than 40 seconds.
