I really feel this coaching staff needs to think outside of the box for once and maybe run the no huddle to try to wear out the bills defence in the heat on sunday. Its puts alot of pressure on our defence but if we don't try to do something to slow down that pass rush tannehill is going to get knocked of this game.
The trouble is that when this coaching staff is presented with a square peg and a round hole they reach for the hammer.
We just don't run no huddle. I think we're one of the slower teams in that regard. Besides, if we could reliably get first downs, I would say give it a shot, but as it is the defense needs a break.
I remember the talk when Lazor got here was that we were going to run this "Fast Paced Offense". I for one have never seen it outside of the two minute drill and since we are normally quite successful when we do run it, it makes me wonder why we dont run more hurry up.
It takes a special amount of people to run a no huddle. My team attempts it and mistakes are many when hurried to the line. The theory of tiring out the defense and not allowing substitutions really is a thing of the past due to the difficulty involved. Offenses have become very complex with 100 moving parts with 5 different variables. It doesn't take much to blow up a play. Personel has also become more specialized limiting the teams that can run a no huddle
I just feel we need to do something different to keep the bills unbalanced. The bills line has always giving us problems and now they have rex. I feel tannehill is going to get killed and our running game is nowhere to be found.
No doubt. I'm not saying that running the no huddle is easy or even the cure for our offense. I'm just frustrated with Lazor lately because it seems like he says one thing but does another.
The offense doesn't have to run no huddle, but they have to get the ball out of Ryan's hands fast to neutralize the pass rush. Copy the NE gameplan.
i think we have handled Rex defenses well in the past for all the talk he gets as a defensive guru, but we had trouble stopping his offense, especially at home
I feel ya. Short quick passes are the key to beating Ryan. I run a 46 on my team and let me tell you, done right you are not going to run the ball. Given the fact our line is suspect - we have the makings of a long day. TE and receivers are critical in beating a 46 or hybrid of the 46. Most don't know or don't realize Bill Walsh created the West Coast specifically to beat the 46. Now that Tannehill is hurt and the line is again up in the air (my ***** earlier on), we have our work cut out for us. Tannehill will be the key. If he faulters we will loose.
I personally think personnel, (much of it changed), is the issue. It may end up being Philbins undoing. Especially the line. I tried to point out the line band-aid was just that a band-aid. I was told I am always negative. Not that it matters now, but we got a hodge podge of linemen that are cast-offs from other teams and other teams practice squads. If you take a look at salaries which is a very good indicator of talent half of the linemen we brought in are getting league minimum. Not SUH's fault but they did blow their wad on him. Worst thing about it is its a 6 yr wad and will hamper this team moving forward. I like SUH he is a great player but I would have vested the money elsewhere. We were not a player away from a super-bowl to need to spend that kind of money on one dude.
This is one thing I feel is a Tannehill shortcoming. I do not believe he feels fully comfortable doing a no huddle all of the time. Even though he seems to do well at 2 minute offenses. Just both Philbin and Lazor have talked about fast paced offense, however we just haven't ran one.
