For years I have heard from coaches whether you win or lose about leaving points on the field. So that got me thinking, what would the real final score be if we could add a touchdown for every punt we had in a game. For example: the actual final score was 23-20 Jacksonville. But what if it wasn't...
The Dolphins punted the ball 6 times last week. So if we added 7 points for each punt we had plus the actual points we had, this could have been a serious blow out.

I dare you to give it a try with previous games played and future games played and post it here in this thread.

    Besides 62-23 Dolphins isn't a bad thing...

Oh yes but I didn't focus on them. I was looking at Miami and what the score could be if we scored on each drive instead of punting.

Pretty sure you could knock it down to a field goal for every punt and they'd win by a pretty wide margin

I thought leaving points on the field was due to player errors, like dropped/missed TD passes, missed FG, etc... and not necessarily just failing to convert on downs. Or in our case, the team not being able to get out of its own way.

But surely you have to do the same for the other team too in order to maintain the balance?

Yeah that's true. I just rather focus on Miami. It's easier.

If we say that Franks makes his missed FG, and a TD for every punt its 65 points for the Phins.. If we give the Jags a TD every time they punt they have 72 points...........
