Evidently Tannehill hurt his back in practice Thursday or early today and he was limited in practice. He is still expected to play Sunday night despite the back and ankle problems, but Moore did take extra reps today just in case. Personally, I'd like to see Moore play a few quarters to see if he still has it or not. Also, Albert is doubtful (Fox to start) Sims is doubtful Miller, Cameron, and Mitchell are questionable. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/dolphins-qb-tannehill-probable-bills-albert-doubtful-180407375--nfl.html
lol.. honestly... I'm afraid for tannehill this Sunday.. back and ankle... probably won't be using his legs much because of them.. and we're facing Dareus and Mario Williams with nobody but Pouncey protecting him. I hope I'm wrong about the offensive line but I can see the reality too... Tannehill is in danger of getting hurt this Sunday more so than any game he's played in his career.
I feel a Boom Bust game coming on. Either he throws for 4 TDs and a 120 rating or he throws 3 INTS and a 54 rating. No middle ground this week, imo.
Why? The last time you saw him, he went 4-1 in December with probably the worst line in the history of football.
I am one of those individuals who still isn't convinced Tannehill is good enough to ever lead the Dolphins to the SB. But the one thing I will never question regarding Tannehill is his toughness. The poor guy has suffered through some of the worst offensive line play in the history of the NFL over the last three plus years. Many young QB's in the NFL have being ruined early on in their careers by getting hit and sacked far less than Tannehill has been so far. While he still might be a question mark in my mind. I would love to see how effective he could be with a quality offensive line and a strong running game to support him. Unfortunely with this coaching staff still trying to convince us that Thomas is a starting quality guard in the NFL and Albert having a hard time staying healthy, I'm afraid Tannehill will be lucky if he is able to finish either of the next two games.
Yeah, just what we need, is Moore to play. He could hit two 50 yard bombs, but throw 4 picks and lose the game, and we'd have to suffer through countless "start Moore" threads.
No, I'm worrying about his hurting back, don't underestimate how a tender back will zip you of your power game.
Yeah, that was why I posted it in the first place. If his back's not right, then his throwing mechanics will be off as well. If that's the case and he's hurting, then he's better off sitting a week and recovering. I don't think anyone here is questioning his toughness though...he's a true warrior.
they might need a tow truck to pull tannehill from the turf on sunday. messed up ankle, a backup LT that can't block......
Going down till the end as anti-Tannehill. I'm glad you at least came to the side of let's see him with some help. You're never going to have enough ammo to say he's not, and the other side is never going to have enough to say he is, short of him winning a SB. Can he get hot enough to win like Eli & Flacco did? Who knows, hard to replicate the Giants or Ravens D (not even talking about Dilfer here). But the way he's playing, you don't go spend a high draft pick to replace that. Besides the fact that you'll never have a high enough draft pick with him as the QB. Tannehill is not the problem, unless the problem is you don't have a HoF QB (and good luck solving that problem).
Some of you REALLY make me laugh sometimes. There's NOTHING--repeat, NOTHING--wrong w/MOORE AND his "game". If you'll recall, he REALLY DID do well QBing behind a for-spit (expletive deleted) OL, and a prehistoric "O". Now, here we are having moved into the 21st Century of NFL life, and I'm certain that even w/only a few days' practice as the 1st String QB, he will pleasantly surprise US DOLFANS (and remind us about just how solid he is). And he will absolutely APALL the teams that he plays against. Does that mean that if he has to start, he'll be perfect, and win every one of those games? No...OF COURSE NOT. But any problems he might have will i/m/h/o just be "rust". "Rust" really might be a factor, at least for a short while. But let's remember what we have here. A lot of teams have "nibbled", at least, about getting MOORE from us. We've all seen it, and we all know it. Yet he's still here as MIAMI's second QB. Even this team's "hierarchy" isn't comprised of total idiots...we have some sharp "football people" here. And we also still have MOORE. QED, end of discussion...at least if you're honest about it.
Wow, now I am anti-Tannehill because I question if he has the ability to ever lead this team to the Super Bowl. I guess the fact I have praised him for his consistent improvement over the last three years or that I have also stated he is the best QB that this team has had since Marino must also been seen as me being anti-Tannehill to you. In fact I have also stated that he is in the top half of all starting QB's in the NFL. I also acknowledge that he has been dealing with an inferior OL ever since becoming the starting QB of the Dolphins in 2012. So I certainly recognize that he has many positive aspects of an NFL QB, while also not always having the best offensive talent surrounding him and a very suspect defense on the other side of the ball. My issue with Tannehill remains what it has been since he was at Texas A&M. He appears to be productive throughout parts of a game, but he just doesn't appear to be effective in the closing minutes of close games. To me, being able to consistently lead your team down the field and pull out a win in the closing minutes of a game is what separates the top tier QB's from the rest of the average QB's in the NFL. Until he shows a consistent ability to be productive in the fourth quarter of games and specifically in driving his team down the field to win close games in the last few minutes of the game, I will continue to have my doubts about his ability to eventually lead this team to the SB. If that makes me anti-Tannehill to you, so be it.
I don't hate Matt Moore, but if he was so great, why didn't he get a starting gig when he was a free agent last offseason?
Sorry all I heard was "REALLY NOTHING--NOTHING--MOORE AND REALLY DID QB OL, O NFL QB, US DOLFANS APALL OF COURSE NOT. MOORE MIAMI QB. MOORE. QED" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i wonder if this will be the game where lazor finally moves the pocket to offset the strength of their team and the weakness of ours..things that make you go hmmmm..lol, if that happens im gonna go crazy.
