To start, I know everyone is pissed about the JVille game. Let's take a step back and realize the talent we have on our favorite NFL team. We'll be fine. Can someone please start a Bills lookalike thread?
I'm relaxed. Until we get embarrassed by the Jills Sunday at home then I'm probably gonna rage, will have to go on a hike and smoke my sorrows away.
I've calmed down as the week has progressed, yet I can't help thinking that if Jacksonville made us look bad, then how the heck are we going to topple the Bills? Hopefully home field advantage and the bitter rivalry kicks our players into overdrive this week and we can all laugh about the Jax game a few months from now. It's very difficult to gain that confidence though. "We'll be fine" was our motto for 12+ years after Marino retired, and it stings just a little more each season.
I'm relaxed because I had no expectations of this team, did I see this rough start? No I didn't, but because we did the same old Dolphins 2 year roster overhaul, bringing in a bunch of new players, relying on players who have not been good enough, to all of a sudden get good enough. I couldn't have any expectations, especially considering we got rid of our most dangerous weapon, the only player on the O that the other team game planned for, and of course we still have Philthbin and Soyle...
Same. I'm indifferent more than anything because the bar is so low. I hate saying it, but this franchise has nearly zapped the passion I used to have every Sunday.
It's really a must win the next 2 games..Buffalo and Jets. We win those two and it will completely take away the sting from the Jags game (for me). I just really hope that this early failure has a silver lining: it shocks the coaches into figuring out how best to utilize the talent on this team (no way Suh suddenly lost his abilities as a player.. coaches have to figure this out, and it's best this happens earlier rather than later in the season).
It's a damn shame, I was just talking to my brother about it, how frustrating it has become being a Fin fan, in a way, it's worse than being a losing team, at least then it's easy to get mad, and easy to point fingers and because at least you have the hope of a high pick to fix everything, lol, but this perpetual mediocrity is like football limbo.
The first four weeks don't tell you anything about the team. It's not till week 5 till you get a sense of what you got. Look at all the upsets this past weekend. That's the first month of football. Second month things settle down. Hopefully we win
lets look at it like this we are 1-1 on the road so far. If we can stay .500 on the road and win at least 6 at home we will be alright.
In the midst of the JAX meltdown, I looked up to the football gods, despite pangs in my gut, and told them, I'd rather win vs the Bills than Jags, if there can only be one. And while we could win, while the bills could be flat and make mistakes, this is a Joe Philbin and Kevin Coyle lead team. We will often be out coached and we are shallow along our roster. I thought we were top heavy talented enough to persevere, but we obviously are not. There will be several painful Sundays, but I'll be there bright eyed and hoping anyway.
if he goes 1 and 3 after four it will tell us everything we need to know...just cant do that in year 4.
Yes I say we grab our pitch forks and head straight to Joe and Kevin Coyle's house and escort them out of town... Actually you know what I wish the fans would all for one game just boycott the home game. Not allow one person to show up so they are playing for an entirely empty stadium.
Wouldn't happen. The fans of the other team would buy up all the available tickets. Then Ross would start recruiting homeless people to fill the unoccupied paid seats...
