Just to clarify - you're saying that because we haven't been able to run the ball well this year - over just three games - it's proof we therefore don't have any ability to run the ball?

That's nonsense and it's circular reasoning. Some would say that the coaching and schemes are doing damage to talent that could/would otherwise prove useful - but you're rejecting that as a possibility because we haven't run the ball well so far this year.

Fire Philbin & Coyle, promote Lazor. Yes Lazor has been an issue, but he's more of a leader than Philbin & Coyle, who are definitely not.
Run the ball regardless of if you can run or not, you still have to run (yes, sometimes even two of three downs!)
    Call some plays under center.
Roll out from under center multiple times a game, especially in the redzone and on short third downs.
In regards to the 2 above, know when you can take shots, and when you can't have negative plays. An example of an opportunity for shots is midfield. An example of no negative plays is the redzone (yours or theirs).
Instruct Tannehill to take shots and to use his feet for yards.
Stop giving huge cushions and crossing routes. Everyone in the league knows how to quick pass nowadays, even (previously) sub-par QBs.

    lol.

What are our running stats over said 3 games, please? (2 of them vs ****ing jax and washington FFS..) Yeah...........

Between what we've seen with our eyes, this coaching staff, and that offensive line, it is more than enough for me to know the running game will be a non factor this year, and we will see more and more abandoning of it because of being forced to throw, or because it is complete garbage. I've seen this movie before, and this is the easy part of our schedule.

I firmly don't think we can run the ball with the talent/coaching on this team. "Oh well if traditional runs don't work then just start doing super sweeps, double reverses, Statue of Liberty ETC " Sure that's all well and fun to say on your computer at home, but realistically, come on. Besides, it's not happening. Would good coaches make better decisions? Suuuure. Irrelevant because there are none here.

Miller got 1000 yards last year, No way he even comes close this year.

Everyone is a Hall of fame couch coach, I know, but it amazes me how people tell a team to run the ball more when they can't even get a single ****ing yard gained on a run play because there are 3 defenders in the backfield during the handoff, or our running backs run into straight up piles because there are no holes. Other teams KNOW we can't run, So what advantage is that giving tannehill again?????

The problems with this organization starts at the top and filters down through the entire organization. Ross has proved he has no idea how to go about hiring a competent head coach and consistently stays with his bad hires far too long.
I really don't see this team being any more than it has been under this ownership. Our best hope is Ross will finally realize he isn't cut out to be an NFL owner and he will sell the team to someone who actually has an idea what he is doing.

Ross made his worst decision deciding to keep Philbin after that Minnesota win. If he had any patience and wisdom and waited a week for that beat down Geno gave us, I would think even he wouldn't have kept him. Man I wanted Rex.... this team would NOT look like this under him, with the exact same pieces.

Actually I read that Ross had already told Philbin well before the Vikikng game that he was going to remain the Dolphns head coach this season. Ross merely waited until the Vikings game to make the announcement public because he obviously figured that the fans and the media would be less negative about the annoucement, because the Dolphins had just beaten a very mediocre Vikings team.

Ross is the owner and had every right to chance his mind after watching the the Jets dismantle the Dolphns in week 17 last year. The fact he stuck by his decision to keep Philbin and then signed him to an additional year on his contract only shows how inept he is as an NFL owner.

    UNREALISITIC WAYS

    - Fire Joe from cannon at moon made of cheese
    - Arrest all the Dolphins, bail out Miko and let her play all positions at once
    - Forfeit the next five games then surprise the foe by showing up
    - Move the team to Boca Raton
    - Run elephants out on the field during bad plays as a distraction
    - Ask for a 'do over' of the last 40 games we've played.
    - Play naked. No one will wanna touch us. (Except Deej)
    - Sign some Jai Alai guys. Why not? Never been tried.
    - Deflate the balls. I heard that works.
    - Tell every coach their families will be roasted and eaten by the fattest man on the team if we do not win by at least 1 point.
    - Win a game by less than one point
    - Play every game for the tie
    - Give up an early safety to destabilize the other team politically
    - Eliminate practices (again, file this under never been tried)
    - Make players wear kangols for increased attitude
    - Pay everyone a lot less to piss them off some. Keep cash in a postgame treasure chest that only opens if they win.

This last idea is good. Too bad it's not realistic (key phrase is "a lot less").

We have too many holes on this team to turn around the season. The best we can do is go no huddle, hopefully that comes with better offensive line play and the defense staying on the sidelines more. Its a gimmick but its the best we can do to protect Tannehill. If we continue to let opponents bring in fresh pass rushers to attack Tannehill, the consequences may be brutal. We have too much money invested on him we have to make him get through the season healthy.

Too many holes to patch up but at least if we go no huddle, we can try to cover some of the issues.

As for after the season is over..

Albert and Grimes have got to restructure their contracts.
We need to draft or sign a franchise middle linebacker. This position cant be ignored. And yes, it has to be a franchise caliber linebacker, one that will become the leader of the defense. We have ignored it since Zach retired just like we ignored the quarterback position after Marino. There is no leadership at defense.
We need to sign or draft a FS. We cant go on with Aikens. McCain may play better with more development but we cant have Aikens behind him.
We need to sign a proven veteran guard.
We need to draft a running back.
We need to draft a defensive end. (Damn you Dion Jordan..)
