Philbin: "We are either going to stick together or not.... We don't have anyone to blame. There's nobody to blame."

    https://twitter.com/flasportsbuzz/status/648283928600662016

    Wow... Translation:

It feels like I'm losing the team and they don't want to play for me.

There's a good chance that I'll get fired, that's evident by my opening up the can of worms statement that "We are either going to stick together or not."

The main person to blame is me, but I don't want to point the finger at myself.

It sure seems that my a** is grass, I wonder how much longer I can coach a terrible team that is listless, underperforms and shows no sign of wanting to fight hard for me.

I hope that the team hasn't given up on me and the season, but it sure feels like it.

Excuse me, but F you Mr Philbin. We do have someone to blame and his name is Mr. Joe Philbin! If he can't have his team any more ready for a divisional home patch-up than that, he does not belong in an aqua and orange polo shirt.

We haven't been ready for a game all year. We commit stupid penalty after stupid penalty. Our game planning for the start of every game on both sides of the ball has been awful. The team makes mental mistakes and turns the ball over. All of these things point to coaching. Its not that hard to see what is going on.

If it isn't obvious to everyone that this coaching staff has lost the support of these players. I have no clue what it will take to convince those Philbin supporters that he just isn't capable of doing the job he was hired to do.

51 games and a record of 24-27 and the team is regressing. I've seen enough and Philbin is not the answer for this team as its head coach. If Ross loves him so much, perhaps he can keep Philbin around to pick up all the paper and cups in the stadium after games. That is about the only place Philbin seems to excel.

I love that he couldn't even be decisive with that statement.

His entire tenure as a head coach perfectly encapsulated in one wishy-washy quote.

Call me dumb but I rather have Tony Sparano instead of Philbin. Players actually played for Tony.

    Timid and tentative .

There's little if any football attitude , swagger , emotion , aggressiveness from this team . What is on the field , what is shown , what we get should not be a surprise at this point .

Yes, hence, NEW version. Joe clearly learned from Cam Cam, and took our owner to the cleaners for much longer.

Philbin never drafted a player and his family like Cam did. So Cam still leads the race as the worst ever. I cried as a young teenager when we beat the Ravens for our only win.

At least Ted Ginn spearheaded a couple wins over division rivals. Torching Revis is a fond memory.

Compre the roster we had then to the ones Philbin has had... I remember our offense doing well until Ronnie Brown tore his acl, he was leading the league in scrimmage yards..if philbin coached that 2007 season he would have figured out a way to lose 17 games of a 16 game season.

Im shocked Philbin didnt throw Tannehill under the bus like he did last year saying hes not sure who the starter is. When your job is on the line, like Pagano and Philbin, they usually throw someone under the bus..

I think we all would now.

Sparano brought so much more to the table than Philbin as a Head Coach.

There's more than enough of a sample size at this point to see Philbin just dosen't have it. Most fans have been patient and given him the benefit of the doubt the past few years.
He's got enough talent on this roster for the team to at least be performing better than it is. They look unmotivated and unprepared. I don't think any players respect this guy. Gonna be a long year.

It's not that easy. You'd still have to pay them significant money. So you add those guys you'd have to subtract others we've signed with their money (Grimes, Albert, etc.)

I've seen him do it. Didn't he do it in the one yesterday? "It all starts with me" sort of says it.

He certainly is reeling, though. Not that he is in a great position now, but nothing prepares you for something like this. It's still early, but what a stinker yesterday. It was an embarrassment; to the fans, to the team.

Makes me wonder: did Suh really 'freelance' and is the team responding to a cover up? And I am not into conspiracy theories. But what exactly is going on?

From ALL accounts, this team was well prepared for a breakout year. Even the snippet of work in pre-season looked very good. And most of that stuff were plays that were for a specific purpose. I think the first drive against Carolina, they intentionally worked the left side of the field. It was a "we are going to do what we think needs work" kind of thing. And even then, save for a couple of things, the team looked good.

I sure as hell hope this wasn't false hope; on the media, on the team, and lastly, on the fans. What was the ongoing sentiment here? 6-0 to start the season??

This team better get to work. They better come out of London 2-2, and they better make a statement. Embarrassing all around. This team is better than this.

Coach Philbin, the Dolphins are a 69 yard punt return for a touchdown away from being 0-3...what does THAT say about YOUR leadership and coaching abilities?

We can't run, we can't pass
We can't stop the run, we can't stop the pass

It all most certainly falls on your shoulders. Something I learned and always held to heart in my career in the Army and that is the definition of military leadership

    This team has no purpose
    This team has no direction
    This team has no motivation
