There are so many reason to get rid of this head coach. Forget the fact that he should have been canned after last season it’s obvious that his players don’t respect him enough to actually show up and play a game. Not one game, but three games. Sunday was not only disgusting but I highly doubt a college team would have lost to these Dolphins.

For starters, the team isn’t prepared. At all. They were not prepared on defense and they were not prepared on offense. The offensive line wasn’t prepared and the defensive line wasn’t prepared. Adult professionals or not, coaches need to get their teams ready to play and the Dolphins coaching staff, specifically Joe Philbin hasn’t done that.

This is such and ongoing issue since Philbin’s arrival. There is no emotion, a tremendous lack of effort, no enthusiasm, an undeniable inability to show urgency. They are lethargic, they are the walking dead. They are, exact emulations of their head coach.

The man has a personality of a zombie and the team is playing like a bunch of zombies, go figure. But it goes deeper than that. Some coaches- Tom Landry, Bellichick, Cuck Noll, etc. are stone faced and don't show much in the way of personality, but they were RESPECTED by their teams, who fought hard for them. This team obviously doesn't respect Philbin, and you have to wonder why. Getting rid of good players (Vontae Davis, etc.) who were a little hard to handle, focusing on mundane details like cleaning up the locker room floor and spell checking game plans... What does Philbin actually do? What is his area of expertise, what are his weekly responsibilities?

Does he see himself as a den mother who's responsibility is to make sure that everything is tidy and in order? Does he busy himself with micromanaging mundane details? How much input does he have into game plans and strategic adjustments during the games? What does this guy do? Is he for all intents and purposes the head counselor at a summer camp?

Look at the last three weeks and what's obvious is that what's going on is weird, very unusual. It's like a dog who doesn't want to behave or function for an owner that he doesn't respect. Philbin is the walking dead and his team is acting like the walking dead, I think because they want him out, gone, fired. He is draining the lifeblood and energy out of the team.

I've been watching the Dolphins for five decades going back to the mid 70's and I have never seen anything like this down here, a team that has totally given up on its head coach, thrown in the towel because they won't fight for him and they don't believe in him. The closest was the Dave Wannestedt debacle, but this is worse. Stephen Ross will have no choice but to fire Philbin. Also, Philbin being an OL specialist and allowing that decrepit OL on the field is disgusting and an embarrassment, starting with the constant praise and bs regarding Dallas Thomas who is inexplicably still starting. And playing RT the whole game and risking injury was a dumb move as well. Philbin dug his own grave, time to throw the body in the ground and move on.

It's bad enough to see them lose but to watch them play like a bunch of mindless zombies is hard to watch.
Then to look at the sideline only to see his confused expression really irritates me.
Thank God for the Red Zone channel.

not that i want to lose on SUN, but after we lose to the JESTS, hopefully, he gets fired on MON.

puts us in a tough spot, as Coyle nor Lazor can coach their sides of the ball - less the team ... so, odds are that he won't get fired ... such a shame .....

Another Philbin thread? Don't know why people feel the need to start another useless thread.
