I'm 39 and I've diligently watched nearly every single Miami Dolphin game since as long as I can remember (1982). The only time I purposefully didn't watch the Fins was the 2007 season. It was too painful.

I'm not watching the game this Sunday.

I flew to Miami last Sunday for the Bills game. They were an uninspired, terrible football team. I'm not putting any more effort into this squad until they show me they care. Every Sunday morning, I go out to breakfast with my daughters. No way in heck will I prioritize this team over my kids. I was previously planning on switching it up and go to breakfast with my girls on Saturday so I'd be free to watch on Sunday morning, but why screw up my weekend routine for these jerks? I'm sure I'll watch more games this year, but I'm done hanging on every third down. I'm done checking these boards to see injury updates and the like. More power to you al who wake up early to watch us lose to the jets. I don't think I could handle that.

Even if we pull off a victory does it really change anything?

I usually make an effort to watch as much as the game as I can. If the team wants to be competitive I'll certainly watch. If they want to do what they did against Buffalo, I turned it off at halftime. I watched every game of that 1-15 season in full, i'm just not gonna do it again.

Yeah.. it means we beat the Jets, which should never be dismissed as meaningless. But it won't solve the Philbin problem if that's what you meant.

It's a secret code among many Dolphin fans that refers to a major problem we have on the team. Not sure I should just show you how to decrypt that phrase in public. Some teams in our division are known to spy on other teams to gain a competitive advantage. It's very deflating to be honest.

So let's wait until "The Philbin problem" is no longer relevant to future success of the team and I'll give you the decryption algorithm. Mathematicians have calculated the most likely time for this to happen is around January 4th, 2016. Stay tuned...

I'm going to watch, on at 9:30 our time, so why not?

I try to have some perspective, recall 2-0 starts and "that means making the playoffs 80% of the time" so why not let the peppermint patty led Dolphins pull that football out from under me one more time?

Yeah I agree. It must be one of those ultra classified secrets bc I swear the Dolphins were floundering long before Philbin arrived.

A half decent coach, motivator and talent evaluator (you know one that maximizes skills rather than benches it or misuses it) would have this team at 3-0.

Philbin is the weakest link on this team and the most important reason why we suck donkey gonads.

Everyone is obviously free to choose for themselves, and I wouldn't try to talk anyone into watching who didn't want to, but I will never pass up the chance to watch a Fins game. I couldn't watch last week because of computer issues while traveling, and even when we were down 27-0 as I followed the gamecenter on my phone, it was killing me that I couldn't watch. Maybe its because I've always lived so far from Miami and watching was such a rarity for me for so long. Also, I make no bones that after my family, there's not really anything in my life more important than the Fins, win or lose.

Organizing my sock drawer would be more rewarding than watching this lifeless team. We looked like the Walking Dead for our home opener and we are gonna fly to London and play up to our potential??? Good thing is Joe has about an 8 hour flight to think up some new excuses for why we look like ****. Don't blame you a bit Gardenhead, as a 39 year old father of two girls too, its getting harder and harder to dedicate time to this ****bag product instead of my kids. Hell they should probably lock me up for child abuse after making them suffer through watching this team. Enjoy your family brother!!

Speaking of children, I taught my 2 and 3 year old the fight song this year before the season started. Now it pains me to hear their innocent voices singing that song with no knowledge of how awful the team they are singing about has become.

Oh whatever. I blame your and Stitches make out session at the home opener for last weeks terrible game.

I'm sure the players were too distraught after witnessing you two slathering each other with saliva to focus on playing. :shifty:

I go to all of the home games.

But I usually DVR the away games and start watching the game about 90 minutes in. This allows me to cut out the stupid commercials and commentary and gives me back some of my Sunday.

Last year I was set to fly to London this year I'm just going to Vegas baby bike week &%$# the game. Lifeless team has already lost me for the season, it'll take some serious effort to change my mind and that's sad just three games into the season.

The game starts here in Maui at 3:30 am. While I frequently wake up during the middle of the night and sometimes even post comments from time to time during the middle of the night here. I usually fall back to sleep and get up around 6:00 am each day.
I have already set the DVR to record the game. Unless I happen to wake up in the middle of the night, I really don't have the desire to set the alarm to watch the game that early. The best thing about watching the game once it is recorded is I can get up around 6:00 am, turn on the game from the beginning and skip all the commercials.

I'll DVR it while at church, turning my phone off as to not get chuckling update texts from my non-dolfan friends. Get home around 10:30 and spend the next 3ish hours staring at (or through) my TV without an ounce of hope that this product has any chance to make me feel good for the foreseeable future.

Heck DJ, I will finish watching the game by 8:00am and still make my 8:45 tee time. Hopefully the Dolphins will win, I'll get to skip all the commercials and my short game will be better than it has been in recent weeks.
Except for the play of my Dolphins, life couldn't be better.
Have a good breakfast and enjoy the early Sunday morning game DJ.

I do agree it's weird they'd be posting on a Dolphins message board though :wink2:

Cbrad, I flew to London in 2007 to watch the game and spent a week traveling throughout the British Isles. My wife and I have traveled to every stadium in the country to see a Dolphin game except Seattle and Minnesota.

Yet I somehow believe my wife would think I had gone a little senile if I told her I was going to hop on a plane and fly to Japan to watch the Dolphin game in two days. Perhaps if we were going to visit for two weeks like you are, it would be a nice little vacation. At this point through, I really have no desire to visit Japan this weekend.

My wife and I were in Japan nearly 20 years ago and had a great time. I hope you enjoy the late night game and that your visit to Japan is as enjoyable as ours was. Enjoy your flight and take care on your trip.

Funny thing is I kind of thought we'd reverse our recent trend and play better down the stretch than early on. My reasoning being the newer and younger guys would improve as the season went on. I still feel that way.

The problem is I didn't expect us to be this bad early on. We look like complete crap right now. And if we keep losing, we're not going to be able to dig out of the hole.

Even though I'm insanely disappointed and angry, I haven't given up on the season yet. I don't have it in my heart to.

But I can't even think about the playoffs or how we stack up against other teams further down the road because we look so bad. We've had our moments, but we haven't played a good game yet.

Maybe that means we're due. I guess we're going to find out shortly.

He certainly doesn't help either. He may not be the main problem I think Ross is but he is not a good coach. He is one of the problems with this organization right now. Please tell me you're not actually vouching for Philbin or want him to get an extension. The talent isn't there either. We have holes and that is on the front office. But good coaches no matter the talent maximize what they have. You really think this team is well coached?

Yep. One game at a time.
Dolphins fans fell into this positive pub trap this offseason and it just might have bled over into the team's mind as well.
I despise any type of media hype. Always a killer IMO.
Let's just go out and beat the Jets. Get back on the right track.

    Breakfast was delicious.

When I got home, I turned on the tv. The jets scored and we went 3 and out against the same blitz three times. Then I turned off the tv.
