I'd worry, but this is popcorn munching season now. It's just the waiting game at this point.

I believe you were advocating resting him to start the season, and some of us disagreed, maybe we were wrong, well, from certain sources we know that he was medically cleared to play by doctors and trainers, we also know from his own words he was at 90 % to start the season, now i'm not sure if he meant that for his kneee or his conditioning, cause we can tell that hes definitely overweight..

Why did they not plan for this and get a competent backup? Same thing with Delmas..Lets bring back injured players they'll be fine..Way to go Joe!

They should have had him pegged as a back-up, not look for a competent back-up. We should have been looking for starters for every position that has a current starter who is injury prone.

I hope Wake gets back to his old self because this franchise isn't going to be turned around with one extra draft and a new HC if somehow Albert and Wake both need replacement (this is all hoping Grimes is playing well enough at the end of the year to keep him). Replacing one of them with a draft pick is fine: gotta build through the draft for long-term success. But both?? We have too many other holes for that.

Time to bench Tannehill for his own protection.

The first Branden Albert mistake was signing Branden Albert.

I think we're still tied to him for at least next season too.. If by week 8 things are looking bad record wise I would just shut him down and put him on IR and get him healthy for next season..

problem is Philbin is coaching for his job so next season doesn't matter to him.. he will want to use every player available possible to get that 8-8 record which leads to another extension and a "good job" pat on the back from Ross..

We have so many areas to address, we will need Grimes next season even if he isn't in top form.

We will definitely need to invest high on a defensive end... a safety... a franchise middle linebacker... a franchise LT... this is a 2-3 year rebuilding plan we're looking at again unless we hit the lotto and find all of that in a single draft.. and that's assuming we develop those high first to third round picks properly to play at this level.

I was saying how much rests on Albert and his health. I got some Roberta Flack on that one.

At this point we need to play all the young guys to see what we have for next year.

I felt we should have been looking for a starter. I know it sucks because we just gave Albert all that money, but blowing out his knee changed everything ..... ESPECIALLY considering his age and position.

Got to restructure Albert's and Grimes contract, got to cut Wake or restructure his contract as well. Cut Misi and take the savings, I believe he counts for almost 5 million on the cap next year.

We can do some things to accomplish clearing cap space... and depending on Jordan Cameron's season we may have to extend him.

You guys want to know what really bites about this team?

When there's a hole, they fill it with the biggest FA money can buy. When the team needed a LT, they didn't just go out and find a stable option to play for a couple years while they waited on someone to fall to them in the draft, they went out and signed the biggest FA there was at the time.

So last year when DT showed itself to be a problem, they could've signed any number of decent options but instead, they played the game like immature little children and spent the most money possible on the biggest name possible.

Free agency can be really valuable, especially as as way of getting starting-caliber talent but it's not where you find elite talent (because it's too expensive) and it's not where you solve your problems long term (because injuries and age become problems). Both of those things can only come through the draft. The reason 2008 went well was that a lot of solid, veteran players were added. That was smart. Now, the drafting thereafter sucked and we never saw better production emerge in 2009-2011.

But over and over, this team has tried to just throw money at their most glaring holes. It's time we all recognize that doesn't work. So while DE, MLB, OG, OT and CB are sure to be positions that garner attention at the end of the season, we should not be entertaining the idea of throwing big money at any of those positions. I'm happy to see veterans come in, but they need to be stop gap type guys who provide stability while young guys are added through the draft and groomed by a good staff.

This is the only way it works. That's what allows you to go BPA in the draft and avoid reaching for guys in order to fill holes.

What's hard about rooting for the Dolphins is that I don't want to root for a team that doesn't even do business they way I'd do business. I want them to win, but I really don't support their MO.
