Firing Philbin after tomorrow would make a HUGE difference. We'd know with certainty we'll have a new HC next year. You can't trust Ross to do the right thing so yeah seeing Philbin fired (sooner the better) would help a lot of fans feel better (feeling better now just thinking about it!)

 

They have to be able to replace the guys with SOMEBODY. If there's a free ex-D coordinator out there, they can't just walk in and install a system on the fly.

 

To be clear.. I don't really care who the interim coach is if Philbin is fired after tomorrow. Promote Lazor for all I care. Point is, if Philbin is fired after tomorrow, at least there's certainty we'll have a new HC next year (which almost certainly won't be the interim HC).

 

Yeah I think even Lazor would admit he hasn't done enough to get yards on the ground. Hopefully that changes this week. Noy fslling behind would help.The defense has allowed long scoring drives on the first possession in every game so far. A three and out would be nice. Give Lazor some decent field position and no deficit to work with.

 

IMO he will never get it done due to personality and a lack system analytics.

Being down 7 after one drive in the first is no reason to abingdon the run. Saying that, I also understand Lazor's reluctance to call runs when we're getting such a spectacular ypc due to the oline's inability to prevent defenders from meeting the rusher two or three yards in the backfield.

 

Lazor is a genius!! Those well timed play action calls are KILLING the opposition!

 

I lobbied for both Bowles and Dan Quinn too. It's sad when fans are more intelligent than their own teams FO.
