Hey what do you know about him? Is he any good? I don't know much about him other than he was a former TE or was our TE coach.

Question: was the Burner a superluminary talent before Campbell worked with him, or is Campbell responsible for Burners rise? Trick question: the correct answer is yes.

Well we need to take this guy seriously. If there is improvement in team performance, he needs to be a serious candidate for the position moving forward. We cant do what we did to Bowles, use him for a Rooney rule and let him walk. That was dumb.

in my opinion he has a clean slate starting today, two weeks to prepare a very well conditioned team for the Titans. We are 0-0 starting today. If he brings positive results, playoffs or not, then he has to be considered as the permanent head coach.

I want to see an aggressive approach. Lets start havig fun again.

Lets start blitzing more, lets throw it deep more. i dont care if we get beat deep lets blitz the hell out of Mariota.

he played for the giants under tough tom coughlin so...........

the real question is, if he goes 500 or better, does he get the interim tag removed.

Im glad he got it instead of Lazor. i dont care for lazor, he is a problem too and i hope he steps down after feeling insulted by Ross' decision. He can get the hell away from our team for all i care. The offense including the offensive line is on him. Fire his ***. Ive seen ricky williams run behind some of the worst talent and they still were able to run block. Thats because Norv Turner actually excels at his coaching position.

He was referring to his college years, after he was specifically asked about his college days as a player. His team was run oriented and his role was as a blocking TE. That quote isn't a reference to his coaching philosophy whatsoever.

he is a spitfire coach, could be a young cowher or harbaugh...players love him and respect him, players wanted him to be their coach...and hes a badass with excellent leadership qualities.

I truly hope that is the case. And I hope if he shows something with this team he will get the Head Coach job and they dont just pass him on after the season like they did with Bowles.

Campbell was a very good tight end in Dallas and New Orleans. As far as our entire coaching staff is concerned, he's probably the best coach we have. He has produced results in our TE play, he definitely commands their respect, he's a very intense position coach.

Sadly, he has no coordinator nor head coaching experience. So the question becomes, can he bring that intensity to the rest of the team, both on the player and coaching side of the organization.

I sincerely hope that he uses his "outsider" position to his advantage. Eff you Lazor, I was chosen over you...eff you Coyle, I was chosen over you. You're going to do things MY way

There are some here that think we should just tank the rest of the season, go 1-15 and call it a season. I couldn't disagree with that philosophy more. We need to see if this team has the heart to overcome adversity; if this coaching change was indeed what was needed to inspire all to rise to perform their best. We have the talent, the coordinators are shakey, but if this ONE change is what was needed, then I say it's still possible to have a successful season.

Is it likely? Probably not...but it is possible. we're 1-3. There's 12 more games left in this season. The magic number to make the playoffs is going to be 10. We have 2 weeks until our next game. If we play as we've played, then maybe...MAYBE...I'll jump on the "tank" bandwagon, but if we play...PLAY...and just happen to lose? Ok, 11 more games to go.

Maybe it's the military in me, but failure is NEVER an option and the thought of losing is just shameful, especially when it's intentional.

Hopefully if he turns out any good we don't CAN him before we see what he has to offer the team long term i.e. Todd Bowles.

Wish him the best but let's not underestimate the tremendously difficult situation he is stepping into. The locker room is a mess. He will likely be dealing with at least 1 coordinator who is underperforming. When he takes the podium to address the media it will be his first time. He has to learn how to be a head coach on the job with all these conditions. If he produces results given all this he definitely deserves consideration as a permanent coach. But we shouldn't get our hopes up.
