oh. Aggressive, full speed, "walk the line" between aggressive and dirty. I like that. I like that a lot. Suh is gonna like that too.
He had to hold some words back describing what kind of aggressive approach he wants. haha he is so fired up he was about to start cursing up the press conference.
Sounds like he would be willing to put on the pads and destroy anybody that doesn't want to follow his vision.
I like this guy, I hope it works out and he is our permanent coach moving forward. Young, firey, aggressive. Let's see how it translates on Sundays but he definitely sounds like a rockstar of a head coach.
Singletary was the same way - I definitely wanted a guy that can connect with the players, but I also want one who can game plan and run the team too.
Honestly - if Campbell can turn this dumpster fire into anything resembling a competitive NFL team by years end he deserves another 2 - 3 years at the reigns. We're so tied to Suh and Tannehill contracts anyway - it might not be the end of the world to ride it out a few years and then totally nuke it if things still aren't working. I'm not sure were in a good position to go coach shopping with Suh and Tannehill on the books. Not a slight to either one - just speculating that a lot of people coming in might not want to be stuck with that given some choice.
His mantra is that he can connect with the players. Reports are the players can't stand Coyle. No way Campbell can keep him.
I wonder how many walls Campbell is going to punch out before the season ends. This is a very large and scary dude.
Campbell will likely tell them what his approach is, the coordinators either agree with his approach or they argue and he gives them the boot. I don't like Coyle, I think his defense is soft. But at the same time, he has 3 holes at linebacker at two defensive backs that shouldn't be in the NFL. All we can do is attempt to blitz more on first and second down, see if we can create turnovers but the defense will still give up plays, they have already with a conservative approach and they will with an aggressive approach too but at least by blitzing more we have a chance at setting the opponent at second or third and long. In conclusion, we don't have the skill players necessary to run a top defense this year.
I picture Dan Campbell as The Rock, beating Dallas Thomas and Jamil Douglas' candy asses. And I quote! "Know your role and shut your mouth"
He came across well. Players need to step up now and do their jobs, and at least look like they're interested
I loved his personality on hard knocks. At the very least maybe players will be held accountable, Parker plays over Jennings and we won't see our hc clapping after the other team scores in 3 plays.
Holy crap, Talk about Alpha. He looks like the antithesis of Philbin that's for sure. I missed the press-conference. If anyone finds a working link please post.

Even yesterday watching the Cowboys game, I saw Garrett tell Joseph Randle after trying to get cute on the goal line, what the **** is wrong with you? And he benched him the majority of the game after that. Sure these players are men but you have to hold them accountable and call them out when they're doing something stupid or lacking effort or aggression. Lack of effort is irresponsible to the 52 other players and coaching staff on the sidelines. I expect Campbell to hold these players accountable.
That dude looks like he is ready to play himself. I hope he can X and O too. If he can we might have something with him. I do like that they are letting him make his own staff decisions, but I also hope that means he is sending Coyle packing. Would a guy like Jim Schwartz come into a situation as DC when he could very well be canned in a staff change at the end of the year?
I wouldn't be surprised if during a close game this year they show him on TV with blood running down his face after headbutting a player.
To me, Campbell has a clean slate and I will judge him on how competitive this team is under his leadership. I realize there are a lot of holes on this team and it is unlikely they will make the playoffs this year. I just want to see a team that improves as the year goes along and shows up to compete from the beginning of the game until the end. If he can get these things out of these players and out of the coaches he has inherited, I won't have a problem with him remaining the HC beyond this year.
I think that one of the first thing that Campbell will do is change the defensive line to a one gap system. And for that they'll love him, get more aggressive, play harder and produce more.

I love this because we get to test Dan Campbell. If he is a rockstar, make him your head coach, if hes not, then look else where. We will see in two weeks. We have a lot of talent on this team so lets see what happens. IMO we have a better shot, while still long, as a playoffs now, than we did if we won yesterday and kept everyone
If he shows up on the sidelines in a sleeveless workout shirt and cut off jorts, it will make my life better.
