COYLE SAFE FOR NOW...Albert breer is this happening?
so no one wants the job and no one on the current staff is worthy... campbell does know coyle was a 3rd of the reason joe was fired right?
Campbell is not making any changes. Players report for practice Wednesday, how are you gonna have Coyle there for a day and then fire him. I can't see Campbell doing that. If Coyle was to get fired it would've happened already.

Hopefully, they are waiting on figuring out his replacement before they make the announcement. Hopefully. If Coyle is retained, Dan Campbell head coaches for no more than 12 games.
still haven't learned from past mistakes, its still the reason why this franchise is and will continue to be a ****ing joke for the forseeable future.
You mean to tell me there's no one on this staff that is capable of running the defense? Anyone has to be better than Coyle. Besides, don't all the players hate him? Just fire the man already. In for a penny, in for a pound.
FWIW, there may just not be any other option out there. Rock and a hard spot. If Coyle (and Lazor, for that matter) wants to work in the same capacity next year, they're going to find a way to turn this thing around.
Grasping for a silver lining here, but maybe Philbin was holding Coyle back from running the defense he wanted to? Okay, well how about Coyle might rise to, uh, average as a DC without his buddy Joe around to protect his job? Meh, not happy with this, but I guess we wait and see how it pans out.
Have patience. Either coyle is replaced, or he is challenged. The rest of this season is an experiment. Be practical at this point. The character of this team will be forged in the next 6 months.
This ^^^^^^^^ Campbell just may not have a better option. I mean, when you look at our coaching staff it's a relatively young coaching staff with minimal experience, save Lazor, Coyle and the departed Philbin. Hell, our interim head coach is a 39 year old position coach with no other coaching experience. I think that tells the state of our staff. Philbin's firing could and should send a message to Coyle (as well as Lazor) Step up your game or you're gone at the end of the season, and Lazor/Coyle should WANT to step up their game because if they are indeed fired at the end of the season, they're going to at least want to submit an impressive enough resume to get hired by another team.
Bringing in anyone from the outside, right now, is a mistake. The HC in an interim HC. No one worth bringing in for an coordinator position is going to want to come in for a partial season with everything up in the air and you don't want to continue this duct-tape, patch-work approach. Whoever becomes the new, permanent HC needs to be able to choose his own staff and not have anyone forced onto him. So it's either promote from within or keep Coyle. For me, the only things that should happen are that if Coyle is kept he needs to change to fit whatever approach Campbell wants and not that Campbell has to adapt to Coyle when Coyle's way hasn't been working. The only exception to this is if, behind the scenes, it's been the case that Philbin was directing his coordinators to work in ways they didn't want to themselves. In which case Campbell has the liberty to let them try/suggest what they want to do.
I can't see how any option on the team would be worse than Coyle. The defense has sucked going back to a good portion of last year. The players hate him. There is no reason to keep him. ABC (Anyone But Coyle)
