Holy crap he wants the Dline to create havoc in the backfield? This some kind of groundbreaking plan? LOL... Lets hope he can get it done..
So seriously, I've read some posters on here say we do use the 2 gap scheme but now the head coach says we never used it. Which it it? You're talking to a guy who plays Madden using cover 2 zone every play not even knowing what's going on.
I want to hear that we are going to blitzibg more instead of relying on our front line to create the pass rush on their own.. Im hoping theyre just saying we are going to run the same defense but nore aggressive to mask what we are really going to do.. Our mediocre linebackers and Reshad need to be involved in a blitz at least 20-30 times a game.. We cant be dropping them back, those linebackers cant cover ****.
Too much talking from the newly positioned coaches for my taste...just git'r'dun. That's one of a few areas I really wish our HC was like Belicheat...don't give the media anything.
Exactly. What's the guy supposed to say? That's we're going to suck despite having solid talent? He said the only thing that he could really say.
If you are going to blitz a safety it should be Aikens. He is totally useless in coverage so he might as well be doing something productive.
If only we all could rise to success with this resume. I recognize Anarumo wasnt "THE" coach but he was part of it. I say "clean slate." I say he has an uphill battle, along with Campbell. It's hard to say what will be the bar to call it a success though. If this D is basically average talented overall (and I'm not saying it is, but where does it fall in?), then if they were to improve significantly from their current ranking of what, about 30th, to somewhere around 15th by the end of the season, I'd say that's one hell of a job. That's not the end-all-beat-all measurement, but it would be impressive. A few defense gurus have already said there are a few changes that could be immediately instituted that could make one hell of a difference (how/where they play Suh, blitzes, etc)...let's see if he makes them.
