Phillip Rivers is like the second coming of Marino, but not quite as good, obviously. Always love watching Rivers throw the ball.

First there would have to be a being who everyone recognized as omniscient, and who intervened and determined the winner. Let me know when that happens. ;)

Why do you post on a message board, if you're concerned with people arguing about football related items?

Just curious why so much anger. I figured you were trying to win something.

    A trophy, or T-shirt perhaps?

    Namaste.

Just curious, why do you think there is anger? There's no anger from me.

There are no winners in an argument. So why bother?

Each person has their opinion and are entitled to it.

    It shouldn't affect anybody else.

But this isn't an argument, it's a friendly debate...

And opinions can be flawed and wrong...

And this is the Internet so it's important that we set those fools right dammit!

I'd put Luck, Newton, Brees, Dalton, Flacco, Wilson, Mariota all before Tannehill. I don't think many NFL fans or pros would agree with your rankings.

Edit: I don't mean it in a harsh way either. I appreciate that you stuck to your word and opened yourself to criticism and debate. But I respectfully disagree. Oh and I know I'm gonna sound crazy and maaaaany people would disagree with me but I'd also take Kaep over Tannehill. The dude is just so explosive and makes game changing plays.

    Mel Kiper is DEAD-ON!

The only question at this point is whether Tannehill being referred to as an average QB is an overstatement...31st in QB rating, 30th in QBR, Dolphins 31st in PPG, worst in 3rd down conversions, worst in PPG per redzone visit, couldn't hit the side of the barn beyond 20 yards if it was outside of the hashmarks isn't exactly worthy of being referred to as average. That is bottom of the barrel.

Wow...those stats tell me there's a really bad offense on the field, but it certainly gets mitigated a bit by the run/pass ratio imbalance. If you're trying to push that RT is the 30th/31st best starting QB, it's not going to wash.

He certainly hasn't played his best ball so far this year. There have been flashes (that fade he hit in the Stej game was RIDICULOUSLY good), but he's been very inconsistent...and even inaccurate on more throws than his norm.

4 games does not a season make. If he plays like this all year, we're screwed.

I don't think most pros would. Fans maybe. The only two I could see ahead of him are Newton and luck. Brees has to have almost all if the salary cap spent on the offensive did of the ball to shine. He needs a good to great oline and world class receivers. When you give him that he's one of the best. Give him an average to below average squad he doesn't do squat. Luck only beats his own division, the worst in football. Plus he throws some questionable picks. Additional he's injured. There's something to be said for having to be on the field. Cam could be very soon. I have to see another gm or two of his. He seems to be more consistent this year. In the past he was hot or cold. Mariotta and kaep don't even come close
Maybe in two years mariotta will but kaep is probably a backup in a year or two followed by Wilson by age 30

I'm only going to respond to the Brees comment because we clearly disagree about the rankings in general and it'll take up too much screen real estate to debate that.

Brees is one of the top TD leaders of all time. Number 5 IIRC. He's passed for 5k yards before. That doesn't happen without him being a freaking stud.

What are you disagreeing with about Brees? He's had a great career, all Adam is pointing out, is that when he had good/great pieces around him, he's been one of the best, but without that, he doesn't put up the same sort of numbers.

So, then, specifically, you believe that when Brees has an average to below average supporting cast, he's better than average at his position?

Like I said put an all star team around him and he becomes a tier 1 QB. Put an average group around and he doesn't have the ability that Ben,Brady and Rodgers do

He's slightly better than average with an avg or poor squad. He's got great accuracy but no escapability at this age and he's a midget so he cant fight off sacks the way big Ben or Eli can
