entry 3 even though phrased to give deniability, poster is basically saying that tannehill is equal or just slightly better than derek carr since it's obviously a debatable topic

Question- what's to be gained by keeping these ridiculous arguments alive? Mariota played hurt, got slaughtered and still threw some beautiful passes this afternoon.

I can see giving credit where credit is due, but Tannehill's best game in 2015 started the first half with 2 picks and zero TD's. He did redeem himself in a big way, but one great drive doesn't put him in the Hall of Fame quite yet. So can we maybe calm down with wanting to anoint him as the next Dan Marino?

here's someone who wants to get rid of our QB rather than upgrade the oline. guess scoring in the 30s isnt good enough to overtake bortles, carr

Yeah, two picks. One tipped by Cameron, and the other seemed to be pretty obvious a mistake by Cameron, also. Nothing like being incredibly disingenuous when discussing this stuff.

Their defense was legit, based on rankings. Our offense was pathetic, based on rankings. Sooo...

I stick by it. Tannehill hadn't done SQUAT until we ran the heck out of the ball and all the plays it allowed for.

Edit: And he had 2 INTs before getting a TD. Why is it that so many posters trash Wilson for having such a good team around him but Tannehill gets a pass?

    Double standard much?

additionally our side has always said its the oline to blame and ive pointed out repeatedly that when we have 3/5s of a line tannehill plays well. when its 2/5s no qb plays well. well today albert came back and took us from 2/5s to 3/5s thereby proving our point and destroying the other sides. its always been the oline thats been responsible for the poor play this year and last. when 3/5 started tannehill did well

ok. i agree with that. our pass/run ratio was insane prior to today's game. that also had to do with the oline but it doesnt help to be that skewed. but do you still think mariotta is a better qb today than tannehill. not 3 years down the road but today

Ryan played well, neither of those INTs were bad passes and only one MAY HAVE been a mistake by Cameron reading the coverage. Who knows, who cares...he did some nice things today.

But as it has been in most of the losses Ryan wasnt the main reason for the result...the defense is the star of this movie today. They were on a mission and after that first drive dominated the game. Miller was likely the next most pleasant surprise if you ask me.

We we were hitting on all cylinders and that includes Ryan, he played well also. Feels good to not be disgusted on a Sunday.

I do believe Mariotta is better right now. I believe with the Dolphins around him, he'd have more TDs and less INTs than Tannehill. The guy knows how to audible and gets the ball out very quickly.

Edit: I always said Tannehill could lead us to the promised land with a stacked team. If we keep on with this game plan, we'll be in the playoffs as a wildcard this year or next year.

I'd say the offensive line and Miller were most impressive. Running the ball helps the defense tremendously.

if you said two years i could agree with you even though i think tannehill will be better. mariotta had a great first week and has been slipping stats wise since. defenses are just playing with his mind at this point. i like the kid but he's not woirth anything for another year or two

Fair enough. Agree to disagree. He's got a RBBC instead of a feature back like Miller. Plus we're looking at this one game.

I think the case could be made either way but if I had the choice I'd roll with Super Mariotta.

Ohhhhh. It is. One average game makes an MVP around here. By any standard by which one could measure a quarterback, Tanny had an average day. His Oline and running back absolutely gashed the hapless titans and he was average. No one should be convinced that he had any greatness in him based on today's performance.

It wasn't an obvious mistake by Cameron....it could have been an obvious mistake by Tannehill. We have no idea who messed up. But I'm being "disingenuous" by not joining in chanting that Tannehill is better than Luck, Newton, Brees, Dalton, Flacco, Wilson, and Mariota? All because he had a few solid drives in a half of one football game?

I just can't see the logic there at all. We blew out an opponent and there are 100 positive things to talk about...yet we're still arguing if Tannehill is the best quarterback in the history of football or not. It's just plain insanity and trying to force delusions on others only makes it laughable.

The 2nd INT was on Cameron also...he broke right when he should've posted, in a zone showing. In man, he should break. At least that's what I'm told by some who know a lot more than I do.

If you recall, Dion Sims did the EXACT same thing in the Oakland game last year, and the result was the same.

Tannehill's accuracy today was spot-on. Tannehill's pocket today was MUCH cleaner than any other game this year...coincidence? He used play-action very effectively, thanks to the running game finally being a positive. He made some bullet passes that were dead on the money, and the other INT went right through Cameron's hands (possibly tipped by the defender that was all over Cameron's back...not sure).

I would say he balled out today. His runs were good, most of his passes were dead on, his deep ball from the end-zone was near perfect on the way to a STELLAR 97 yard drive from the QB (5/5, 89 yards, TD, 38 and 24 yard passes included, equating to a perfect 158.3 passer rating for that drive), and he was calmly and coolly dicing up the Titans right before the half until the miss-comm INT (6/6 before the INT).

He was equally the main reason they won today, along with the defense. The offense put up 31 points. That amount of points every week would be #2 or 3 in the league for sure, and they did it against the #1 passing defense in the league coming into the game.

Edit: And I agree, Miller was great. He was running with authority.

He he played maybe as well as I have seen him since Denver last season. That being said, when we have lost I made it clear that in MY OPINION Ryan was about the 4th reason why....today I feel like he was the 3rd reason we won. Ryan is a strange animal, he rarely plays like trash or at an elite level....he plays a part in the wins and the losses but rarely is the main reason for either.

Guess when discussing these top 12-18 type QBs you get that a lot. Although Matt Stafford has blown his share of games he also wins games like today.

its all strange but we win

he was playing with a hamstring injury all season long. the bye allowed him to heal up. that is why you saw the cam you did today. god forbid you factor in injuries. nope just look at the stats and if they dont look good cut him!!!! lol

As I've been saying, give Tannehill a good running game and he shines. He was very good today. When he has help he is very good, period.

He was also playing with an extra chip on his shoulder today too. He was not going to be denied. I can't believe it took them an entire half to start paying attention to him.

Lol...why am I not surprised this seems like it turned into a kindergarten thread with, "I told you so. nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!"

    My thoughts on today's game:

Overall, Tannehill played the best game of his career.
Tannehill's ball placement was absolutely terrific. Best I've seen from him over the course of the game.
I think the pass to Stills down the sideline in the 4th quarter was the best pass I've seen him throw.
Tannehill showed that if the entire team plays exceptionally well around him he too can play very good.
