I defended him for a long time. I was wrong. I thought a lot of things and they were all wrong. There's nothing to rehash, because I was wrong top to bottom on him. I'm sorry. Carry on.
Meh. That joke of a head coach is gone. Its over. Time to move on. Besides, I've been wrong before too....probably.
I'm just glad everyone now sees how much he was holding this team back. I'm actually keeping him around may have helped ruin Tannehill.
On the flipside you more than made up for it in your defending tannehill the last two years from all the unwarranted bashing
If you have nothing nice to say....its just going to be deleted anyway. If you dont like someone, utilize the block option.
Your apology is too meek and queasy. It lacks emotion, passion and intensity. We'll need to replace it with the Dan Campbell of apologies.
I defended philbin as well...I hoped he would succeed he did not and his tenure here was pretty much and abject failure...I won't make the mistake of rooting for a nice guy when so many signs point to him as the problem..lesson learned.
Actually, I think there was a lot to like and respect about Philbin as a coach. He was worth defending. Where I think Philbin failed was in his man-management. So Dan Campbell has been able to take the players and schemes that Philbin was the architect of and then put them together in a way that worked (for one game so far). Maybe to put it in an Historical perspective, Philbin was like George McClellan who created the Army of the Potomac, but then got queasy about using the Army. But it then needed a Grant to take the well built Army and kick butt with it.
Props to you for admitting it, Fin D. I liked Wanny the first few years and defended him in many of the same ways. Felt that we just needed a QB. I was wrong then, too. I've disliked all of our coaches since then, so I'll be happy to be wrong when I eventually am
Hey Tony, no worries...I too defended Philbin and just thought we needed additional players to finish the puzzle
There is nothing wrong with trying to see the best in folks. Some of us could stand to do it a little more often. In the end, it didn't work out. We all move on.
Well, you've certainly got me fooled. How exactly could Fin D, being part of such a small minority wanting to give Philbin more time, be a bandwagoner? I'm not sure you understand what that term actually means.
I think that the poster is suggesting that Fin D is now a Campbell homer, since the team did well yesterday. I think he's wrong, but I think that's his suggestion.
I think that he was saying that Fin D was on the Philbin bandwagon, which no longer had any wheels, it was just lying in the dirt rotting, and yet he still was in the decrepit wagon waving the Philbin banner.
I think we all wanted Philpin to do well, but some of us realized earlier then others that that was not going to be the case
Not that I'm supporting what he said, but the bandwagoner part obviously meant when Fin D left team Philbin and joined the Campbell wagon. Again, not saying he's correct, just pointing it out. EDIT: NM it was explained already
Fin D, you and I have gone at it a lot over the years, but I have always recognized that you are simply stating your opinion and how you feel about the team, the coaches, or the front office. We have all expressed opinions which have proven to be wrong later on. Heck, in my 65 years, if I had to admit every time I was wrong about an opinion I expressed, I would have spent thousands of hours admitting to my errors. You and I didn't agree on Philbin as an NFL head coach, but that is over with now and all we can both hope for is that the team is finally headed in the right direction. I don't know if Campbell will be the answer long term or not, but at least we have 11 more games to see exactly what he offers to this organization. I commend you for admitting your error concerning Philbin, but for me it really wasn't necessary. Being right or wrong about a particular player or coach isn't what forums like this are for. It is merely a place to express your opinions and sometimes these opinions turn out to be correct and others times they prove to be wrong. I am sure we will find areas of agreement as well as disagreement in the future, but it is never personal with me. It is just about being a Dolphin fan and wanting to see the team be as successful as possible. Have a great day and hope you make it to Hawaii soon. Aloha.
I understand every ones interpretation but, Fin D went down with the ship, and was last to be pulled from the water. That is the anti-bandwagoner in my book. Plus, he gets insulted while in the process of eating crow. I mean really? Who does that kind of ****?
F that. Imma give this boy a great big mutha ****in hug, know why? Unless we kept Joe Philbin four games to many...Dan Campbell doesnt get a shot at being the HC of this team. Im all in on Campbell with no apologies...
Hey ..look at it this way...you stuck around to defensd Philbin.. even when you were getting hammered on it. I can think of another Philbin supporter that just left...which is to bad because outside of Philbin he had a ton of great stuff to offer
bandwagon : a particular activity or cause that has suddenly become fashionable or popular. How does that describe Fin D and his previous stance on Philbin? It was rather unpopular. The real bandwagon fans are the ones talking about not watching this team play anymore based off of previous performances. We can all go back & read who those were. They only want someone to wake them up when we are winning.
I can't predict when exactly, but one of these days you will make an intelligent post and actually contribute something to a thread. I have faith in you buddy. And I'll be happy to tread water for as long it takes on that.
