According to the predict machine? Ha ha that's a joke. Do you not agree the AFC south and NFC east are the two worst divisions in football? The Rsvens are 1-5. Chargers 2-4. That's who they're playing. This is a cupcake schedule. Not saying Dolphins will make the playoffs but this is an easy schedule. Give me wins losses and compare it to other teams schedules. Idk what that machine is basing its results off of. Because I'm sure you would rather play the NFC West, AFC North, Broncos, and Bengals.

We are all entitled to our opinion, but let's not throw opinion out there as fact. That Ave QB was top ten statistically last year and had some poor games this year just like the rest of the team, and played those games behind a OL that probably could not stop a high school DL.

Yes, QB has been the thing hindering this team. What stats are you using to determine him as average last year? With the numbers Tannehill put up last year, he played well enough to put the team in the playoffs. We didn't make it due to deficiencies elsewhere on the team.

Bro, record aside the Chargers are playing some good football. Philip Rivers is about as hot as any QB in the league right now. You are what your record says, but record doesn't tell the whole story. That's not a lock or an easy game...

The Ravens haven't looked good what so ever, but we struggle against them historically. But who they are now doesn't necessarily mean they'll be the same team when we face them later in the year. How many teams looked at us a few weeks back and wrote us off as an easy win? How bout now?

If Campbell gets this team to 9-7 and in the playoff hunt, he has got to stay. That would be 7-4 over the remaining 11 weeks. Get the team to 8-8 and 3-3 in the east, I would say he deserves to stay as well.

One more tune up to see if he has what it takes before the pats. Would love to end their perfect season early.

It is well documented that Tom Brady pouts as bad as any QB when the pass rush gets home. When they are on, I think the only pass rush better than ours is Denver's. Would love to pummel Brady, like JT used to do.

I get the pumped up part, I'm excited too, but I would say that pumping the brakes here would be smart. We beat a one win team that was really banged up prior to the game and that just got worse during the game, so I think it's a bit of a stretch to say they learned how to play like champions after that one game. That's not to say that they didn't possibly, but more games have to be played against quality teams, before we can come to that conclusion.

I agree that having someone to believe in is Key, lol, but the Marino era wasn't Shula, it was all Marino, Arnsparger took the defense with him when he left, there was no stout defense during the Marino era, even the couple years we finished with a decent ranking, most years were not, but even when they were, they were paper tigers who would get toasted in the playoffs for 400 to 500 yds, and Shula's last game was a horribly coached game where the Bills ran for 341 yds, let me say that again, the Bills ran for 341 yds, and they were a passing team, lol.

After the game I remember Bills players, especially Thurman Thomas, with this kind of bewildered look on his face saying, "we just kept running the same play, we were waiting for them to make adjustments, but they didn't, so we just kept running it", Shula had lost it years ago, the same problems they had at the beginning of the Marino era were the same problems they had when Shula retired, and they weren't even drafting well anymore, the team believed in Marino and his uncanny abilities.

I also can't jump on board with this being the best played game in a decade, we white washed the Chargers and Raiders last year so it's not like we haven't won a game like this in a decade, we had 2 games like it last year, and the Titans were a banged up one win team, while the Fins were a recharged team, bad matchup for the Titans.

If the Fins play the way they did sunday for the rest of the year we will lose to better teams, this game was kind of like the Ravens games last year, the final score is not indicative of how close the game was, a tremendous INT by Grimes on the Dolphin 3 yd line stopped the Titans from getting within a TD in the 4th quarter, and that's an injury depleted one win team with a hobbled rookie QB, and Wake isn't going to have 4 sacks in every game the rest of the year.

I'm excited right now too, just like a lot of people, but I think we ought to lay off polishing any trophies just yet, lol, remember what Lucky Jack said to Mr Calamy, "don't count your eggs before they're in the pudding".

Positive signs going forward is all I'm looking for, seeing how he handles the team and how the team responds to him, Oline is still a weakness, secondary is still a weakness, LB still has issues, we aren't a perfect team by a long shot so losses will be coming our way, and how DC and the team handles that will be the most telling thing going forward, but for the first time in some years I'm pretty excited to see what transpires, but it all must be taken as it comes, we shall see what we shall see, as the saying goes.

While I do think our schedule looks a lot better now than it did a couple of weeks ago, I don't think it's as easy as you're saying. We get the Cowboys possibly with Romo and Dez Bryant. Meanwhile, the Eagles have gone on a little roll and seem to have gotten better... we also play them in Philly.

I think this is the year we finally snap our losing streak against the Ravens. The Chargers game is in San Diego, so that's going to be pretty tough.

As for the AFC South, we only have the Texans and Colts left. I actually feel pretty good about both these games, but anything can happen.

Our biggest problem is our division. We play both of the remaining games against the Jets and Bills away and still got the Patriots twice. IMO, we need to win at least 2 out of those 4 division games to have a chance, and that's going to be really tough.

Amen, but the pass rush has to be cranked up to the max to even have a shot. Tom gets rid of the ball so fast it's not even relevant sometimes. Press coverage is a must. Don't let Gronk beat you (easier said than done) and we have to control the clock with the run game, can't get into a shootout with those guys

Rivers can't be playing well if the Chargers don't have a good record. Good QBs reach deep into their magic bags, and pull out wins.

I've told this story here before, so I'll go with the short version since I think it's relevant. In that final season you mentioned under Shula, I talked with Dan Marino around week 4 or 5...it seems like the team was still undefeated at the time. And I said to Dan, "Do you think this is the year you guys get back to the Super Bowl?" And he completely went off on me...it was basically the Jim Morra video that makes its way around the forums every year. He was adamant that you do not talk about playoffs EVER...you just prepare for your next opponent and take it one week at a time. And at that very moment, it was so plainly obvious what you just said...Marino was carrying the entire team on his shoulders and expected to work miracles.

And I completely understand where you're coming from- Tennessee was not a powerhouse team by any means. But neither was Washington, Jacksonville or New York...and we all know how those games turned out. But then again, we're not just relying on Marino here...this is a very stacked roster with tons of play-makers on both sides of the ball. The pressure isn't really on Tannehill either; at least not in the way it's on Brady or Rodgers. Because when individuals deliver, we have a whole lot of ways to win.

But at the same time, Dan Campbell is not the typical NFL coach. He played Michael Jordan highlight videos all of last week in the hallways and talked about great players stepping up and showing the young guys the way. He had the team beat the heck out of each other so that the game itself would feel easy. And this team is all-in on his philosophies...there's not a doubter in the club. And yeah, we have clocked in a few dominant wins over the past couple of years BUT NEVER LIKE THAT....never that violent, that explosive and for sixty minutes straight. In fact, Campbell even said that they came out in the 3rd quarter in a slump (for the new team standards)....which was still 10x better than we've shown all year. If having to finally punt the ball one time in the 3rd is a slump for Campbell, then he's setting the bar extremely high.

Statistically, we have the hardest schedule in the NFL from this point forward...and there are plenty of names we don't match up well against. NE, Philly, the Giants, the Chargers. The Texans are the closest we have left in terms of a "gimmie" type of game, with the 4-1 Jets likely the 2nd worst team we will play. But I have a feeling that it won't matter as much as it has in recent years- not if we show up like we did last week. Again though, that's just one idiot Fin fan's opinion. I really think that this is the year and despite what Marino said, it's okay to talk about high expectations.

Would you rather play the Bengals/Steelers and Broncos?

Chargers don't have a defense and almost no running game. They aren't that good of a team. Rivers is playing great and I'm thankful for that because he is on my fantasy team. He threw for over 500 yards last week and they still lost. Like I said poor run game and their defense isn't good. Rivers is the only thing keeping that team from picking in the top 10 or 5 in next years draft. And at 2-4 they might pick their anyway.

The Ravens lost Suggs, Ngata, and McPhee on defense from last year. They have no deep threat with Torreh Smith gone and Perriman injured. All they have to throw to is Steve Smith. Make no mistake this isn't the same Ravens team in years past. That's why they're 1-5.

And yeah the AFC south is the worst division in football followed closely by the NFC east. Easy schedule.

Never said these games were easy or a lock. Because this is the Dolphins. But this schedule is one of the easiest in the league. Certainly not the most difficult.

This is how I see it for the remaining games

3-1 against AFC South - need to beat Colts and Texans
3-1 against NFC East - need to get 2 of 3 against Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants
    2-0 against Ravens and Chargers
2-4 against the division - need to get 2 of the final 4 division games.

That brings the team to 10-6. Or instead of beating the Colts sweep the NFC East.

He has the FIRE of Tony Sparano - Sparano was just so offensively conservative that he couldn't get the team out from under the play calling. It didn't help that he had Henne @ QB - doesn't exactly inspire confidence in on the field decision making.

If Campbell can maintain the motivation and he continues with an aggressive offensive philosophy, he could be a damned good coach.

All that said, it's a long season in front of us. If by some miracle they can beat NE @ NE, I think it's time to get excited again.

I'd obviously rather face the Chargers than one of the best teams in the league in the Bengals and a very good Steelers team, where did I say otherwise?

I just don't get where people go writing that game in as a sure fire victory considering we've had one good performance this year against a Titans team that isn't very good

I got curious...the last time the Dolphins won 12 games in the regular season was 1990. 1990! Twenty-five years ago! Before that, three years straight at the beginning of Marino's career, before that the 1970s dynasty (playing a 14-game season). None of those teams started 1-3.

Not saying it's impossible, but don't hold your breath.

no team turns scary just when you add a qb...if they cant get it done without him, which they haven't, means theres weaknesses, so, we chop off the head.and the body dies.

so my comment wasn't disrespect towards Romo, it was me saying im not scared of the matchup as a whole.

the Dallas Cowboys as a team has not done anything for our team to be scared, romo elevates the offense, he's good but what are you scared of, we face great qbs all the time..they've shown they cant get wins without their qb, so that tells me something..defensively they are what? Average...they're a two man show offensively at this point, their backs are below average, tight end is older, just not a scary team..now if they went on a run while romo was out I'd be concerned

He's trying to say that a quarterback alone does not win football games. It takes a solid running game, a good defensive front, smart corners, talented receivers, solid game-plans, etc.

Just look at the Colts- they were 14-2 with Manning at the helm, then 2-14 the following year without him in their "Suck for Luck" season. The team was Manning and it took three years to rebuild from his injury. And teams with "elite" quarterbacks tend to cheat a little bit in terms of talent. They'll invest in hall of fame linemen instead of top talent in other skill areas, because they're essentially a one-trick pony. Rodgers makes lousy receivers look like super stars with amazing ball placement, for example, where a Kaepernick needs a true #1 to bail him out often.

Not sure why you guys are giving DJ such a hard time here...he's just saying Dallas is weak past Romo. And if our DL is playing at expected levels, then Romo is not going to have his usual cushy pocket.

I'm just trying to understand what he's saying, because it's essentially what I, and others have been saying for two seasons, while other posters argued and said we need a better QB. I've been serving that we need a better team, in general, and I've been accused of being irrational, a Tanne homer, and making excuses for him. I've been told that the QB is responsible for wins and losses, and that Tannehill needed a "stacked team" to win. Yes, I've been drawn into many arguments, but the crux of my position is that it takes a team to win games, and that Tannehill is good enough to win with. Here we are, after three seasons or so of arguing about the QB, and DJ turns it all upside down, and states that the QB isn't the be-all-end-all of a football team.

Well, just look at last week- we generated 38 points. The 1st half drives were mostly runs combined with turnovers for great field position. Then in the 2nd half, our defense adds 7 to the boards, Landry gets a few nice returns AND THEN Tannehill came out on fire with that long drive that started with the deep Stills pass. In that game, Tannehill was nowhere near the MVP of the day...even though he had a very productive day. That's how good teams stay consistently good; they don't put all the pressure on one player to carry 16 games.

And for you guys who really love Tannehill, you have to realize that he's not good enough to be that kind of player....the kind that can move the ball up and down the field despite what else is happening on defense, with the run game, etc. That's where the debate always comes in at; not that people are saying he sucks...but that he's not anywhere near the elite level of the league's best. But whenever someone says anything like that here, we get blasted with tons of hate-r-ade comments for even suggesting that Tannehill's not perfect....even though everyone here knows he's not.

Is Tannehill good enough to win with? Absolutely. Do I hate that he leads the league in strip-sacks, despite being an amazing athlete with excellent mobility? Absolutely. And that's the problem here; most people can see both sides of the equation...he's a good QB with some faults. But there are a select few that either think he's the best QB ever or that he's a complete bum, and that's where all the arguments come from.

Hopefully this team keeps rising to the occasion and "how good Tannehill is" won't remain a major issue here anymore. I just wish the die-hards that sit on both extreme ends of the spectrum would back off a little bit and put this to rest. We just had our greatest win of the season and it's ridiculous to be arguing over such petty things in the week that follows.

And that...the bolded part...has been stated by every RT "supporter" on this board...but there is a contingent who would replace him today if they could, not even considering what the replacement would be. The "supporters" are just more focused on the positives than the negatives IMO...they're not oblivious to them.

Show me ONE post where somebody said he's the best ever...

    Just ONE...

I want a complete team...if that includes a QB that's above average and basically on par with his teammates as far as contribution to winning football, I'm happy. I had a team that had a freak QB, that repeatedly didn't win the Super Bowl, when they were routinely favored to do so by the "experts." I do NOT wish to repeat that.

This team, at least the starters, are pretty close to being a complete team. Some areas are paper-thin at depth and some are OK. The QB isn't holding the "team" back, so I appreciate him.

This is very well written imo, I agree with everything, with an asterisk on "good enough to win with", I am not saying he's not good enough to win with, but I wonder what it takes to win with him.

Dilfer has a SB ring, he was the starting QB of a SB winning team, so obviously he's good enough to win with, however, I would not categorize him as a QB that is good enough to win with, because it took a historically great D and a historically great run game to do it.

Imo, Tanne goes as the team goes, but what you want in a franchise QB is a team that goes as it 's QB goes, because in those tight games where you NEED someone to win it, will he? I have my doubts about that, as do many others, because most SB winning QBs have that quality, where they can be the hero of the day, they can turn 4 win teams into 7 win teams, or 8 win teams into 12 win teams, and I haven't yet seen that quality in Tanne yet.

Imo, and many others around here, it takes that type of QB to have a serious chance at winning a SB, and if we built a team that was good enough to win with Tanne, then it would be a team that was good enough to win with 2 3rds of the starting QBs in the league, which would make Tanne very replaceable.

After next season Tanne will start making big money under this contract, but the team has a buy out, and imo he has to get significantly better to earn it, because imo he's no greater an asset than Hoyer or Fitzpatrick right now, he might be a bit better than those guys, but in the big scheme of things he's in the same boat, not a franchise QB that can be the difference in close games, and imo if your not that guy, then your not worth the big money, there's always "Fitzpatrick's" in the NFL to sign if you do have a great team.

I've stated how I feel enough about Ryan good and bad for you to know where I stand, playoffs..on the road...can I trust the skill set if protection breaks down...can I trust that he's going to make plays...because don't get it twisted when it comes to winning a championship that's what it comes down to...we can win games with Ryan we can make the playoffs with Ryan...I'm really excited with our new coach and what that does to a team...just wanna see how far we can go and what the qb will do when he gets there

Yeah, it just sounded like you were changing your stance on the importance of the QB with that statement.

Not trying to stir anything up. Was genuinely confused.
