Coach Bill O’Brien said Wednesday that wide receiver Cecil Shorts, cornerback Kareem Jackson and linebacker Bernardrick McKinney will all miss this weekend’s game in Miami. It’s the second time that Shorts has been knocked out of the lineup this season. He missed time with a shoulder injury earlier in the year and is now down with a hamstring issue that should keep DeAndre Hopkins fielding as many targets as he can handle against the Dolphins. Jackson has an ankle injury and his absence will push first-round pick Kevin Johnson and A.J. Bouye into larger roles this weekend. McKinney suffered a concussion against the Jaguars last Sunday. Linebacker Jadeveon Clowney missed that game with an ankle injury and O’Brien says he’s day-to-day for this week.
I would force them to throw from the pocket. That is not the team nor Hoyer's strength. Make sure Hopkins is accounted for, but make sure you do not let Foster get going, and don't let Hoyer be mobile, he is atrocious. Defensively, they are just not that good outside of Watt.
You realize if he plays he will get his first career sack against us, right? We always give people their first career accomplishment. No thanks... And the guy has a lot of skill by the way, that TFL he did on Gore a couple weeks ago showed what kinda force he can be if he ever manages to get healthy.
That's a good point. We always must make the first priority to be stopping the run. Like you said, Foster must be stopped. Keeping Hoyer in the pocket is smart. He can't think he has options for running or rolling out to extend a play. I'm not sure how to shutdown or slow down Watt. We've got to try something. Hopefully Campbell has a plan for neutralizing him.
arian foster had 18 rushes for 53 yards last week, thats a 2.9 average, he scored early but then couldn´t do anything besides catching some passes, his TD was receiving too
Three guys already out. Other important players are the walking wounded. We've gotta take advantage and take this one too. I love how Campbell immediately said that the team has a history of letdowns after a big win. Stop that nonsense before it starts.
Exactly what I am thinking. Take advantage of the opportunity to get a win. Let's make no excuses this time.
the dolphins also play crap QBs for the first 6 weeks so we should be 6-0. we saw how that worked out. Injuries are part of the game and teams plan accordingly. So this week won't be any easier because of them, unless somehow watt and clowney both don't play.
You won't really shut him down. Just double team or at least help on him consistently and use misdirection. Exactly, don't let Miami be the team he starts getting on a roll with. He has been slow returning from the groin injury. They will feed him early to see if he can get it going. If not, they will be forced to rely on the arm of Hoyer. That is advantage Miami all the way.
