1 - "The Miami Dolphins became the first team since at least 1940 to score four offensive touchdowns of at least 50 yards in a half, and they beat the Houston Texans 44-26 Sunday. Miami's four long scores in the first half were the most in at least 75 years, according to STATS."

2 - "Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill set the NFL record with 25 consecutive completions in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. The record included Tannehill’s 18-straight completions he had against the Texans, in addition to seven from Week 6’s game against the TennesseeTitans. The quarterback’s streak ended two plays after he set the record, as tight end Dion Sims was unable to catch an intended pass.
The previous record was held by Donovan McNabb when completed 24 passes in a row with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004.
Miami won the game 44–26 and Tannehill finished 18-for-19 with 282 yards and four touchdowns."

    Any more?

Good finds! Excited to see things coming together for our offense. The placekicker still makes me nervous when he lines up, though...

Blowout win....starters got a ton of rest on a short week. You honestly couldn't ask for a better result.

Wanted to see them beat those SoB's sooo badly

Hmm, wonder if "good" Tannehill is more like Pennington or Griese then Marino?

He's obviously not like Marino, and that's OK. I watched some old games over the past few days, from 84-89, and saw plenty bad throws by Marino. 84 was just magical, no other way to put it, but after a few years he wasn't the same QB. Sure, he made some great passes too, but even in some wins, he had some horrible passes...and a very clean pocket. His release will never be matched IMO, that carried his performance more than anything else. This is in NO WAY complaining about Marino or dogging him out in any way, it's just to highlight that even the best ever have bad throws sprinkled in there.

Can't say he's more like Pennington, 'cuz he has arm strength, and I never watched Griese play really, so I can't speak to that.

Either way, I'll take today all day every day...the incompletion to Sims may have been his worst pass on the day, and it was highly catchable...just looking for him to work on those sacks.

Has any Dolphins QB ever had a 158.3 rating and/or a 94.7% completion percentage?

Marino threw more then a few ducks, but kept throwing

Pennington though, was just an efficient Qb who knew how to lead an offense, Griese was at first, then blew up into a rare mix of accuracy and high production

This is on my mind as well, it is not that THill is the mad bomber, give him time and he will carve a D up like a turkey.

Smart Qb, Danny M, loved his game, could not run a bit. Griese/Pennington..could move, were efficient.

THills flaw imo is the leader of men portion. Campbell mention Moreno setting a tone, what THill should internalize is that was directed at him as well..gotta fire the squad up

Yes, Marino had several "perfect games" over his career, and if memory serves me right Pennington had one as well. Henne had one in pre-season the last year he played for us as well. As far as QB's from Griese back though, I'd have to look it up.

For the 94.7% completion percentage, that almost has to be an NFL record for a game with 15+ throws.

CBS stats says Tannehill would have set NFL record for Completion Percentage if he would have attempted 1 more pass (20th), and if completed (19th) he would have set that record too.

I know players don't play for records...but ****! To get that close to the history books without even really attempting it, that's pretty depressing. Moore completed his first pass so you'd have to assume that Tannehill would have made that easy 5 yard toss too.

Marino never had a perfect passer rating in any game according to Wiki:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_quarterbacks_who_have_posted_a_perfect_passer_rating

The only Dolphins QB to ever have a perfect passer rating before Tannehill was Griese against the Patriots. The QB to have the most games with perfect passer rating is Peyton Manning with 4.

EDIT: lol.. check out this list of QB's with a "perfect" passer rating of zero: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_quarterbacks_who_have_posted_a_passer_rating_of_zero

Bob Griese is on both lists! haha

I know this isn't a record, but it's something worth noting:

As of right now, we have the number one running offense in the league in terms of yards per carry. 5.3 YPC.

In second place come the St. Louis Rams with 5.0, which is a pretty big dropoff.

Considering that we barely ran in the first four games (with sub-par blocking and not going between the tackles), the "drop off" is nowhere near accurate of what we're actually doing with the football on the ground in the Campbell era.

Fastest I've ever stopped watching due to garbage time. Right after D Williams fumbled, early third.

I've never seen such a dominant half in my lifetime. Only thing that comes close was the Buffalo/Houston playoff game back in the day when Houston were Oilers...and the refs stopped us on our last drive of the half

    Another interesting stat:

Tannehill is 7th in the league in passing TD's (13) and two that are ahead of him already played 7 games (Rivers and Bortles, each with 15 TD's).

Knew it was going to be a slopfest...I saw the refs signal the turnover and took it to mean that I should get the heck outta there. I was right, not a newbie, you know. Not sadistic either. If it's anything I admired about Philbin, he would never purposely run up the score. It stems from an article about Barry Sanders when I was young. His Georgia high school coach asked him if he wanted to stay in the game and break the record. Barry said "No, put the backups in, the game is already in hand."(not an exact quote, but roughly)

I did, however, leave the gamecast on my phone...just in case.

Speaking of that fumble, Williams actually started to look like something in this game, besides that fumble of course, but he actually tried something when he got to the line, he's been a deer in the headlights so far, but I saw some signs of life from the kid, he is probably the best physical specimen we have at RB, the best size, speed, power and quickness combo, so it would be real nice if he started to get it.
