Does this performance basically confirm that Philbin was worst coach in the league?

Daniel Thomas's stance was at the correct angle.

Cautiously optimistic. We'll see with this next stretch: at NE, at Buffalo, at Philly. We'll find out if this sudden surge is the real deal or a temporary tease.

Yep, two tough division games on the road. Not too worried about Philly, but the other two, eesh.

If they can play with the same physicality, hustle and overall smashmouth style they have in the past few games, they'll be fine. The game planning has looked good too, but now they're going up against Belicheat...we've out-schemed him before (Lazor has, in fact, and they had all-world corners at the time), so there's no reason they can't pull it off again...on the road this time. Buffalo looked pretty horrible today, the Jags kept giving them break after break, but that was with Manuel...Taylor should be back for our game, he's a tough draw.

Edit: Oh by the way, we're 3-0 on the road against Sexy Rexy in the last 3 years.

It's interesting. I mean, on one hand Thursday will be telling as we're finally playing against stiff competition within the division. But on the other, Thursday games are rarely telling of anything in the NFL. The short week makes stuff weird, particularly for the road team (who usually have very weak showings).

I really have no idea what to expect, other than the fact that it'll be better than whatever Philbin would've trotted out there.

Yeah can't lay an egg on Thursday Night. America is counting on seeing the Patriots lose. Master Campbell needs to make this happen.

Yeah, I don't think we'll know much Thursday either, unless it's bad news. Teams need film to find his tendencies. Could be a season away with that verdict. Which is why I'm keeping excitement in check.

Is it hate when you just don't see anything in a coach and he is holding back your team?! I mean I don't hate Philbin he is just a really bad head coach, nothing to hate there.

You hate him as a coach, not as a person :)

As far as Campbell not being the head coach cause he isn't experienced enough or whatever; that is just crap. I'll take him as the Dolphins coach from here on out.

I want us to beat New England in their house so bad I can't stand it. In fact, it would be epically friggin awesome if we swept them this year. I know that's a tall task, but we NEED to beat them at least once to realistically think about playoffs. Twice would be golden, once i'll be fine with.

Beating a great division rival in their house is the ultimate tough man contest. I hope the team has it in them. Seeing Brady flat on his back numerous times during the game would be heavenly.

I agree. While like most Dolphin fans, I am happy to see the vast improvement of the team under the leadership of Campbell. It should be remembered that prior to the season most fans thought the Dolphins would win the majority of their first six games.

The real season starts this Thursday and how the Dolphins play over the next 10 weeks will determine if Campbell is the right coach for the team beyond this season. I hope he is because I just don't see any head coaching candidates out there who makes my toes tingle in anticipation of them being the next head coach.

I don't think Payton is going anywhere and Pagano isn't getting the job done with Luck as his QB. Malzahn certainly isn't the answer because he is now having trouble winning at the college level.

I like Campbell and hope he proves over the next 10 weeks he is the real deal.

Sorry, the thread was about Philbin, you quoted a post of his about how anyone who supported Philbin should apologize and said you didn't understand where all the hate came from. I thought you meant the hate for Philbin.

hey LB, how do you feel about our team the last two weeks?, are you excited?, or can you not root while ross is in charge even though we may have hit the mother load in a coach?

I think he WANTS to have hope and belief...but he's been burned too many times that he can't allow himself to. I don't think it's intentional, just the nature of this team's recent history for some fans. LB has been spot-on on several things that I and others have argued with him about...and he's also been way off on a few...but I think his corrects outweigh his incorrects, it's just the delivery.

I think he's nervous and doesn't want to jinx anything haha.

Ross will never keep me from rooting for the team, contrary to what you guys may believe about me I don't think becoming a contender is dependent on Ross selling the team, now I'd love to see it happen because he has yet to prove to me that he has any clue as to what he's doing but Ross selling isn't a prerequisite to fielding a winner...but what is required is major change on his part, he needs to step back, I don't want him choosing the next coach, the next GM, capologist, consultant, scout, nothing, I don't even want him in the interview room, he's a turn off to too many candidates.

Hiring Tannenbaum as VP was a step in the right direction but it'll be one step forward and two steps back if he overrules him or forces his hand on a hire like he's already done twice now with Ireland/Philbin/McCoy and Dan Quinn.
