No way. Make him earn it, especially when it comes to such a pivotal job. Two games does not make a season.

People are very reactionary... We still beat the Houston Texans and Titans... just a few weeks ago everyone kept saying that's the reason why the Colts/Andrew Luck have been to the playoffs, because they play a weak division. Still want to see us play top teams to see how Campbell does.

I couldn't possibly vote NO on this poll...

These last two games have been un-****ing-real...I don't give a DAMN if it's the Titans and Texans! We never hung 44 on the Texans in 7 other games did we? We haven't hung 40+ on ANYBODY in over a decade! This man has single-handedly pumped hope and adoration back into this fan base and team. In THREE DAMN WEEKS! How the hell?!?!?! Just by being a "football dude." I ****ing love it!!!!

Sure, it's possible he could get beat like a hangin' rug by BB, from a coaching standpoint, this week...I don't care. BB has what, 18 years experience compared to Dan's 3 weeks?!?! If any coach can out-scheme Dan to the fullest, it'll be this week. We'll see...I'm not worried about it. I'd love to win this game, but at Gillette against the Cheaters AND the refs? Come on...batted ball penalty anyone? Ghost holding/interference calls anyone? I'm more concerned with how they'll do against them in week 17, but I'd love to see them pull this win off too...but the odds are overwhelmingly stacked against them. I won't get off the Danimal bandwagon even if we lose, the dude is REAL!

IF...(massive) IF...we can manage to win this game...my head will reach critical mass...I won't be able to get in the door at work. I sit RIGHT NEXT to the most obnoxious Cheatriots fan on the planet at work, and it would be MIRACULOUS for me to be able to stuff it back at him Friday...DC gives us our best chance at it IMO. Absolutely ZERO chance of winning that game had the coaching change not happened.

    In Dan I Trust

No offense, but it would be near impossible for a Dolphins fan to not approve of what Campbell has done as head coach.

In fact, the only person I could maybe think of would be Matt Moore? I hear broken noses and black eyes sometimes lead to a little bit of remorse.

Why would a loss Thursday night make anyone not approve of Campbell? It's a game no one would expect the Dolphins to win.

    Just here to troll.

I believe I stated the reason for my disapproval very clearly and it's a crippling and extremely valid flaw of Campbell's that I just cannot look over despite the recent overwhelming success.

    Sorry that I'm not sorry.

Instead of questioning my sanity, you should question your own that such a flaw did not compel you to vote "no."

I keep hearing that we will have to wait to oblige the rooney rule but im not sure thats the case when it comes to an interim coach getting the real job..

Wiki says Rooney rule doesn't apply "if an assistant coach has language in his contract guaranteeing him the head coaching job in case of an opening".
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooney_Rule

I doubt that applies to Campbell. As far as interim head coach.. if it didn't apply wouldn't that just be a way to circumvent the rule (make the guy you want an interim HC first)?

EDIT: check out the footnotes of page 5 here: http://www.acslaw.org/sites/default/files/Proxmire_Issue_Brief.pdf
NFL rejected the contract for then-interim HC Jim Haslett that guaranteed the HC job if he passed a certain win threshold.

I am happy with his performance - he is doing exactly what an interim coach should do. He is firing up the team, leading with emotion, getting the team to play hard.

That said, I would not automatically hire him, even if he does well this season. I would absolutely want (as an exec) to know what his specific plans are, his goals, how will achieve them, etc. He has the team playing well, but let's not get carried away.

The Rooney rule has become a joke. I have no idea not being a minority, but I would have to imagine anyone interviewing for this position should Dan Campbell get this team to the playoffs would feel used and patronized which completely flies in the face of what the rule is in place for. When you look at all the African American coaches doing great things in this league, any team that would not hire someone based on the color of their skin would only be doing themselves a huge disservice. The Rooney rule is outdated and needs major modifications.

I think in this day and age that it is ludicrous to think that anyone wouldn't hire a coach just because they're black.

Talking about other head coaching prospects is laughable. Could you imagine guys coming in to get interviewed? Campbell would scare them off. He'll just be standing in the doorway chewing his tobacco as they arrive. They'll turn right around and leave. Swiftly.

The Rooney Rule is such a joke, I want the Fins to consider the best canidates period, for instance Todd Bowles should have been hired in 2012 regardless of color, he had that team playing hard after Sparano got canned.

Teams should be forced to try out a white running back or cornerback before signing free agents if the NFL really wants to be ridiculously PC about everything.

I understand that. But is there any reason a minority coach would need that special treatment than any other staff member? It's a common practice in a lot of industries to interview for a job you know you won't get if you want to make it known you're "on the market". But to base it only on race? It seems patronizing. I understand the rule has good intentions. And I'm not even arguing it should go away entirely. Just certain circumstances are not fair to the candidate or the hiring teams.

If you have a good interview that gets around, so it is important, and the Ronney rule has worked so well that they are thinking of employing it's usage in college.
