James was bad enough but this one pretty much ends our season.

Sad to see it happen to Wake as he probably isn't going to be the same again after this. Hell of a career though.

Going to be in the minority here again but we should have traded Wake when his value was high.

He's still under contract for 1 more year. Almost a 10 million cap hit.

Yup... It will have as much impact on our season as the Albert injury last year. Unfortunately, I think 8-8 is our ceiling now.

well we save 8.4 million by cutting him, which is an obvious business decision now

I agree. Heck maybe they tried. If we saw the liability, other teams aren't stupid. Wake's salary is 9.8 million next year, but only counts 1.4 million against the cap if he is cut.

He's a special player, but tends to disappear in big games, and is somewhat one dimensional. Also, on the older side now.

The drop off from James to Fox is much sharper than from Wake to Shelby.

Wake would have to take a major paycut to be back next year.

Actually ya, my bad .... hit cap hit isn't nearly 10, it was his salary. I think he's gone unless he excepts a paycut - which he won't.

Yeah, if we're without Wake for a long period of time, and James too... Chances of us being anything but spoilers the last half of the year are pretty much zero.

Depending on how bad it is for Wake (and hopefully it's not), I'd be really concerned about him moving forward if I was the phins.

Achilles injuries are often career enders especially for those that rely on explosion. Suggs went from being dominant to average at best after one and he didn't rely on explosion nearly as much as Wake

Crap. He really had a great run with us.

Are we going to give Dion another chance because of this news or 2016 draft will be all about the d-line?

This loss pretty much sealed our playoff fate. Last place in the division at the half way point, and winless against our main opponents. Basically have to run the table to make it happen now. Which will be harder to do now that Wake is gone.

Oh well. It isn't like we aren't used to losing, guys. This franchise is one of the worst in sports and now is known more for losing than winning.

I am numb to it, quite frankly.

Damnit this makes me so sad. Wake has given his all on some pretty ****ty teams and is just a blast to watch. Gonna miss 91 going out there and wreaking havok alongside Suh. Get better Cam and I'm hoping you can somehow come back strong. Amazing that even after this happened, Wake didn't even give up on the play - what a freaking beast.
