Uh, the Patriots currently have a big, fast, strong tight end. His name is Gronkowski. They also have a big strong bruiser tight end. They have two receivers who excel at running precise routes and getting YAC. There's zero rebuilding.

They don't have the O-line to run the ball the way Tannehill would require though.

To me, that's the biggest piece.

How'd we get here btw? :)

Can everyone agree in this thread that if Brady was on this Dolphins team we would be undefeated right now and go to the super bowl every year?

We're currently talking about Tannehill being on the Patriots...I think Resnor alluded to that in something prior.

IDK, I think we've strayed a long way from wherever we started.

I know I offered up the idea of trading him. That's kind of messed up to be quite honest.

    What a Sunday.

Brady is the GOAT. He could do what he's done with the Pats with this team, yes.

Brady has as many rings as Montana in a salary cap era without a Rice equivalent, only Moss in one season. Played well enough to win in the 6 Super Bowls he's appeared in. Set NFL records. Proved haters wrong the season after scandals. No system or coach enables that kind of success without greatness.

Just look at the weapons we have on offense. Top 5 RB in Miller, three very good WR's, Pro Bowl TE. Our Defense will be feeding off our offense when they score points, so our D would be better. This team is way more talented than the Patriots team we played on Thursday. The difference is, they have a football genius in Belicheat and one of the greatest QB's of all time.

Who knows but I doubt we'll find an upgrade unless one comes along in the draft.

It means that according to many Matt Ryan is so much better than RT17, so this loss has to be on the team. Because he is so good.

But when the Dolphins lose it's ALWAYS on the QB. Every time.

Not sure who actually believes THAT, but for example Thu? The loss was on the offense, Now...Ryan is the leader of that offense so it sort of comes with the territory. But no. I cant think of a single game in the past 3 years we lost because of Ryan Tannehill.

I'm sure there have been games that he had multiple turnovers in the redzone and directly cost us the game. I just can't think of one right now.

Situationally? No. You cant bring in a new guy to learn the system on the fly and mess with the chemistry. But any other time??? Ryan has his flaws but imo he certainly is a better football player than Nick Foles.

But a side note? Give me Derek Carr's future over either of them.

The way I see it. If Tannehill is so bad we have to trade him then he's not gonna get picked up. If he's picked up he's obviously much better than we are giving him credit. If he is so bad we have to cut him what does that say about 50% of the qbs in this league?

You're wishing an impossible dream. He's not Marino. I'm ok with that because there is only one Marino. He can win and he can lose. Can he cover for the GLARING INADEQUACIES elsewhere? No. So that's what we need to work on.

One thing I have said quite often, Ryan is a QB that will rarely be the reason we won or lose a football game. It's possible, but what he does is secondary and his career stats kind of support that theory.

So get him to restructure and find a way to build an OL, and hope Parker develops.

It's pretty telling though that last week NOBODY said a word about him as QB. Even saw many detractors saying they were wrong. But then NE happened and they came crawling out from under their rocks again.

Very telling where the agendas lie.

I'm going to take an issue with this because this thread was NOT a knee jerk reaction from the Patriot game. I waited til the emotion from the loss was long gone before making this thread.

I've acknowledged when Ryan plays well and I've called him out when he doesn't. My opinion of him is already made regardless if he goes out and puts up a five TD performance against the Bills next week UNLESS he can get more consistent. He'll follow that up with a dud the following week against the Eagles most likely.

I want yogi to post quotes of the "many" that said they were wrong. Pretty sure he made that up right now.

    Houston Texans
    Tennessee Titans

I think almost everyone was excited that we won, but they were also cautioned to tone down the excitement because of the competition. You know, the same competition you all talk badly about when bashing Luck's regular/postseason success.

And I don't see why people shouldn't want our franchise quarterback to be in the same level of Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, that's the quarterback play required to make it big in this league. Having a quarterback like Ryan makes it that much tougher for teams to win and get in the postseason. Just look at the Chiefs with Alex Smith.

Hell I would kill for a quarterback in the same level as Cam Newton, which Ryan isn't.. he's about 7 spots below Newton.

Tannehill has had plenty of those games. Oh hey and not too long ago. This past Thursday 2 turnovers in the first half with 0 points. At least Matt Ryan and the Falcons put up 3 in the 1st half. And hey he forced the game into OT and passed for 397 yards too.

Brady does have a garbage offensive line because of injuries. 2 rookies and a back up are starting. But he is still making plays and they're 7-0. He has average receivers, average RBs, a bad offensive line right now, and a suspect defense losing some players from last year. And they're 7-0. The best make their team better.

what are you talking about. he doesnt have a bad offensive line. He has a good offensive line. not great but good, better than ours. I realize you dont watch any games but teams actually do start rookies who contribute. To say a line is poor because rookies are starting is one of the most ignorant statements ever made on these boards and that is saying a lot
