In the end they blew out the Pistons and remain tied for the current record of 26.
Hey the Heat have the league's top lineup in terms of NetRtg - Chalmers,Mario - Johnson,Tyler - Wade,Dwyane - Whiteside,Hassan - Winslow,Justise are outscoring opponents by 144.9 points per 100 possessions in the large sample size of 7 minutes.
Good to see Harden drop 37 on OKC after that pathetic loss to miami. Hopefully that was the wakeup call he needed. Got to get on a roll now. Amazing what happens when Dwight and Lawson actually contribute.
Per Stein, Heat and Grizzlies discussing trade that would send Chalmers to Memphis. I hope this isn't just a dump. Rio has value to this team
I mean, what would we get in return? Memphis is unlikely to have abandoned hope for the season just yet so Chalmers would be viewed as a complementary piece for a run. I can't think of a position they go deep in where we need help.
Timing doesn't feel great since Dragic has been so shaky, but I mean he's gonna get back to his usual play. On the books, dumping Rio saves a bunch of money. On the court, you're replacing him with (inexperienced) guys who bring more speed, athleticism, and energy - which the Heat have really been lacking for some stretches.
He is always anxious to begin his roll to the basket....and considering he was 9-10 on such plays vs. Houston....I can see why. Wade makes it so easy for him. It's rather upsetting that Dragic doesn't have that type of rapport with Whiteside. Guy would average 25 ppg and be a MVP candidate.
Heat have never been in a better position to trade Chalmers than now. Starting PG Dragic and quality young backup PG/Combo Guards in Johnson and Richardson. I'm sure the massive tax savings also has a lot of bearing in this.
Yep, I'm with Sumlit on this one. I'd rather have our young guards gaining experience and gain a draft pick because we're definitely not looking to resign him. It's already gonna be tough to sign Whiteside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hard not to like what Porzingis has done thus far, considering he was deemed the project of projects. Dude truly has some rare ability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These first half issues are starting to annoy me.. And as far as dragic goes, if things dont improve he will be sat out several games until hes in shape. We have done it before to Fatoine and posey.
Whiteside is shooting 23 for 27 in the last two games. LOL Dragic' issues are obvious. He is not initiating offense, and is passing the ball too early and the offense cycles without him. His lineups are also the worst defensive ones, so he can;t use his speed in the open court. Guy has been without his wife and his newborn for almost 2 months, so he might be going through some stuff too. As for Bosh. Nothing is wrong with him, just a shooting slump. His defense is on point. Tonight we turned it over like idiots and our bench was non-existent. We lost by 6 to a EC finalist. I'm fine with it. On to the next.
We don't have a lot of chemistry yet which is leading to some dumb turnovers. It was also just a bad shooting night tonight, Deng and Winslow were a disaster. Winslow is a rook so he's going to have games like this and Deng is going to dissapear and struggle every third game or so because he's kinda washed up.
I do think we're going to lose some games at the 3-point line, or on open Js in general. That obviously wasn't the only problem tonight (Dragic is the biggest detriment at the moment), but given this roster, we're going to have more stone-cold jump-shooting nights than most teams. And I don't think this is going to be the last time we have trouble dealing with elite speed at the PG position either. Those two things are going to come up regularly, imo.
Heat shot 30% on uncontested jumpers last night too...so there were some fluky elements to that game.
The Heat need to find a way to get the ball to Whiteside more. The guy shot 92% from the field last night. On a night when the offense is struggling and he isn't, he needs to take more than 12 shots. There were stretches where they were really struggling on offense, he was in the game, and they went multiple possessions without him even touching the ball. That cannot happen. I realize he needs to become a better passer out of the post, but when he can't be stopped like last night, you need to feed him.
Yikes - Gerald Green in the hospital and the Heat aren't commenting on why. Rumors on twitter that he and Chalmers were arrested last night but they seemed to originate from a fake Windy account so no one was taking them seriously.

Reading Jackson's report it certainly seems like he had some kind of mental/psychotic episode. He has no history of drugs or mental illness so it is very disturbing and scary
Heat and Grizzlies pondering trade for Chalmers. ESPN "Chalmers, though, is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed in the summer of 2014 and is making $4.3 million this season. Sources say one possibility, if a deal were to come to fruition, is Memphis including fellow veteran Beno Udrih in a trade, but Udrih earns just $2.2 million when it comes to salary-matching purposes. The Heat can not only slice their luxury-tax bill if they find a favorable deal for Chalmers but also ensure that youngsters Tyler Johnson and Josh continue to be first in line for spot minutes behind the Heat's backcourt starters."
