And we've been saying all along, NO QB WINS ON HIS OWN!! If they could, they wouldn't need teammates.

Well he's a WR so he should be able to catch his own passes.

Tannehill needs more help to win than some other QBs. Who these other QBs are, is the crux of the debate. The amount of help he needs is more than some of us wish. He needs run game oline and defense is what I gather even from Both sides ... .... Some are cool with that some aren't.

Um..yeh..pretty sure we are all in agreement on this.

How many QBs can consistently win a game on his own?

He needs a run game because the offense we run..needs a run game. Your in Club as much as I am, I would think you would know this to be the case.

I hate to do this...but, how successful do you think the Seahawks would be if they weren't holding teams to on average 16 points, like they did last season? This season, they are 4-4, and all 4 losses, the opponents scored more than 16 points. In their 4 wins, the degeneration is allowing an average of just over 6 points. The biggest point total for an opponent in a Seattle win this season is 12 points. So, do we attack Wilson, and say that he needs too much help? We've already covered that Wilson possesses a skillset that Tannehill will never have, in his lateral agility. So, Seattle doesn't need to worry about oline as much, because Wilson can escape in ways that Tannehill cannot.

So, if people's argument is that they want a QB who can function behind a nonexistent oline, by scrambling around, then we need to start drafting again, because Tannehill is not that guy.

Our argument is that you need to give Tannehill AVERAGE help on the oline. I believe with just average play, Tannehill will be fine. Is it ridiculous to expect average play from an oline?

How effective do you think Seattle would be if Russel Wilson was asked to throw 73 percent of the time?

To your point - that is why Tanny is nothing more than a game manager.

    Well away from here

You'd better be careful saying things like that around here.lol

In all seriousness, it's not all one way or the other, it is as are most things a combination of occurrences, happenstance, unpreparedness etc. I've said my views on Tannehill long ago. My biggest issue with him is his lack of fire on the field. In my eyes, that's a big thing. Your leader on offense shouldn't be an offensive lineman,......I'd like to see him get in someone's face every now and then. Just show that there is some emotion in him.

Define what a game manager is?

Was Trent Dilfer a game manager?

Was Troy Aikman a game manager?

Was Bob Griese a game manager?

Is Russel Wilson a game manager?

    Did I say otherwise?

I listed 3 things everyone argues he needed. He needs all 3 phases to be successful. If just one piece is missing he won't excel.

Andrew Luck didn't have a run game Last year. Defense was meh. Oline I'm not sure but I don't remember them being all that good. But he overcame all of that.

Well you should have had us playing in the AFC south the last three years. If the colts played here they wouldn't have made the playoffs once.

A couple of seasons ago, those two losses to the Jills and Jests at the end were mostly on Tanne. There is no denying it. Had he made just a couple of plays, we would have been in the playoffs. Also, yes, looking at the season stats as a whole, the OL was terrible, but as I always mention, you sometimes have to see things from a play to play basis. In those last games against the Bills and especially the Jets, he actually had decent time and still couldn't make the play. Now, I understand, he was still young and raw. That's why I, as much as the way that season ended killed me, I later gave him a pass. I just hope we are seeing or about to see major improvements from those times. I am still pulling for that mofo. He's still the man, but it's time to shine biotches!!

The one thing that really bothers me is "Accept who we have at QB, or find another team to root for."

What kind of a thing is that to say to people in a Dolphins forum? We're all fans here. Fans can be critical. Why the hostility?

Then quit *****ing every time we lose, and sit around cheering when we win. Cuz thats what happens...we win games..all you who blame Tannehill are no where to be found...then we lose a game...hellooo..

Please where were yall the last two weeks. Where were you when he had a perfect QB rating.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it

Yeah hmm let me get the logic of this one. Wanting Tannehill to be better than he is, questioning if he's good enough for this team, because you want better for the Dolphins, shows you're not a dolphin fan?

    I find that reasoning odd.

The one thing that bothers me is this group of so called fans that show up on football forums to ***** all the time...never offer anything of substance..just show up after we lose to pipe up...toss around some.." Boo Fn Hoo..Its all Tannehills fault"...but then crawl back in your hole when the guy lights it up.

Like I said, I had a feeling the harsh debate stemmed from this idea of "fan vs fake fan."

Not cool. You don't get to pat yourself on the back for being less critical. That's not a fair characterization of critical fans.

Oh okay. We're still friends then. :)

I'm like, shoot I'm here every day. I like Tannehill. Even though I'm critical. I started him in 2 out of 3 leagues and got burnt with an 8 (lost one by 10 :( ...). I had faith on Thursday.

Every body wants him to be better...but wheres the logic is *****ing every god damned time he does something wrong...and please dont tell me you dont know what Im talking about. I have no issues with people holding our qbs nuts to the flames..if they also point out when he does well...I have a huge problem with people that just show up to *****...tell me that doesnt happen here

Oh bull****...theres critical..and theres never offering one damned good word about the guy. You just say nothing...why didnt you ***** about him two weeks ago vs Houston?

Im the first person to say hes got to pull his head out of his *** and play better...but Ill also be the first person to tell you hes got the tools to be a damned good QB.

Well I don't *****. I'm critical. Because I want to see more. Again, I trusted $1,650 of my money to him (3 fantasy leagues :D) and he started all 3 at one point. I don't have season tickets but I pay $2,400 each year for Directv, just to watch Dolphins games since 2004. I rarely miss games (and usually watch the recording unless it's a slaughter)

I just want to see more. No more excuses, just pick the team up on his shoulders and carry them across the goal line. Sure, he needs help. All QBs need help. All of them. The help has been insufficient at times, yes. But they've been good enough to win some of the games we lost.

Those are the games where just one play might win it. We want that play. Against the Patriots Thursday? Yeah we weren't winning that. I don't put that all on him. Has the defense failed? Sure. But they failed after the offense didn't get a first down, or a field goal etc. Blame goes to both. But no single position can change the stars like a QB. None. So we just expect a little more.

Why? Because we won't always have a decent oline. Bad olines are so common. He won't have a good oline here forever. So I just want to see more. That's all.

Plenty of critics have said good things about Tannehill, myself included. I've said countless times Tannehill is good enough to win a Super Bowl with a good enough team and even lead us if he improved on numerous things I've mentioned.

I did criticize him two weeks ago. I said he wasn't most responsible for his perfect rating that game. The statistics proved that with YAC, distance thrown past the line of scrimmage and just the poor defensive effort by multiple Texans that just plain missed tackles they easily should've had.

What's your point? I'm tired of people bashing on critical fans. When somebody says accept the QB or root for somebody else, they're not welcoming criticism. Fans can't root for the Fins and be critical of the QB?
