Hope everybody is having a happy holliday. I felt now would be the best time to make a new Fins mock. Critisms and comments are welcomed as always. 1.Glenn Dorsey DT, LSU Some people are not gona like this pick, but as of right now it has to be the pick. Gholston and Long can both make cases for the first overall pick, but as of right now Dorsey is still the pick. When healthy he is a dominant lineman, and he is also a good leader. 2a.Chris Williams OT, Vanderbilt Whether we keep Carey at LT or not we need another tackle. Most are gonna demand defense here, but some draft groupies convinced me that Williams should be the pick. 2b.Jarrod Mayo LB, Tennessee News out of Knoxville states that Mayo is 100% leaving. A lot of you may not know much about him, but he's a very good prospect who's started the last 2 years at MLB for the Vols. Scout has him listed at 6'2 230; about the same size as Bradie James and Kevin Burnett of the Cowboys. Could come in and play right away in a 3-4 or could learn MLB behind Zach for a year 3.Trae Williams CB USF Not as highly touted as teammate Mike Jenkins, but still a very good prospect. Williams has actually produced more turnovers than Jenkins over their careers. Williams can become a shut down corner in the league. We've had success finidng shut down corners after the first round, as have a few other teams. 4.Jacob Tamme TE, KentuckyNot as good as Davis,Rucker,or Carlson but a very productive player non the less. at 6;5 240, he runs a 4.6 which is very good for a TE. Tamme may never make a pro bowl, but he should be a very solid pro and an upgrade over Martin and Peele. 5.No Pick 6.Jonal St.-Dic DE/OLB, Michigan State Prospect that had a great senior campaign and could see his stock sky rocket. A little small height wise to be an OLB in the 3-4 (6'1) but does have the weight (255) and the speed (4.75) Plus, his pass rushing ability is undeniable. 7.Luke Swan WR, Wisconsin Personal pick for me. I think Swan could become a welker esque WR for us
it seems like for the past 5 or so years, defensive tackles or ends who were taken in the 1st round, havent played like 1st round talents yet.
mario williams should of made the pro bowl but other than Mario there hasn't really been any really good prospects till this year with chris long and glenn dorsey
not totally true. Guys like Jimmy Kennedy and Jonathan Sullivan were gigantic busts. And Dwyane Robertson was decent when he wasn't forced to play NT. Ty Warren,Vince Wilfork,Tommy Harris,Haloti Ngata, to name a few have been very good. you know what I ment not surprised. TEs don't get a lot of love, Swan and St-Dic are not well known outside of the Big 10, The Williams' play for smaller schools, and Mayo is a junior that wasn't hyped as an early entry
Again, I like Dorsey but I can't see him playing NT for us so I'm still thinking is gonna be Long.In the 2nd we should go for a corner like Jenkins or Cason or Lowery. Ozzy rules!!
cliff avril the de from purdue would be a better prospect than saint-dic IMO ... plus saint-dic just got suspended ... cliff avril played a heck of a game tonight in detroit 'rock city' ...
red keith, the MLB from Central michigan also impressed me ... typical 3-4 MLB, maybe a bit small but he plays hard
Absolutely love the Trae Williams pick. If we're going to draft one CB that's who I hope we get especially if he lasts until the 3rd round. I have him targeted with our 2nd 2nd rounder or our 3rd. Cant wait till after the combines so we get a better idea where everyone is going to be slotted
