5 Home games - 2 on the road

[IMG] Dallas at home - Rusty Romo goes on the road. They just lost to the Bucks. The Bucks. .

[IMG] Jets on the road - a tough game. A must win game.

[IMG] Ravens at home - Ravens got old FAST.

[IMG] Giants at home - a tough game. They outplayed the Pats and should have won that game.

[IMG] Chargers on the road - A game I will be attending - Chargers are in a downward spiral. We own them.

[IMG] Colts at home - The Colts are circling the drain.

[IMG] Pats at home - If they're still unbeaten, maybe the mojo of '72 can be spread.

Looks like 4-3 at best, in my opinion. We will finish with a typical Dolphins type record at 8-8.

I see 8-8 as well. Is that good enough to bring back Campbell?

That would put Campbell's record at 7-5. I think that at least gets him some serious consideration. Other available options would probably be a factor as well. If potential replacements are underwhelming and Campbell just gave you a winning record maybe you roll the dice on him.

Campbell or not I think the bigger question is what can be done about the OC. I personally don't like the way Bill Lazor uses the talent Miami has and his brand of play-calling I don't care for. I doubt we'll be satisfied with the level of production the team is getting so long as he's in place.

Regardless of Campbell's positive attitude, isn't it more important to fix a real hole? I don't see the team upgrading from Lazor unless Campbell seat is vacant. That poses an issue. I like Campbell as a coach but I think the team needs a much more experienced OC.

Then again, if the team legitimately wants to keep everything in tact next year and give it one more run before potentially rebuilding, I can understand that...it's just that story gets old is all.

That's what seems realistic to expect..

    BUT!

This season has been like the diametric opposite of what so many predicted (not blaming anyone because a lot of it was unpredictable). Remember when we all looked at the schedule and thought the first 6 games were relatively easy and the hard part was the 2nd half? OK.. injuries and unexpectedly bad play by a bunch of other teams (as well as our own) changed that.

And who ever would have predicted Philbin being fired mid-season? And predicted impacts of different players have been so uncharacteristically off relative to previous seasons. I myself never expected Suh to be relatively invisible early on then turn it up later. Almost everyone predicted Cameron would be putting up better numbers. Predictions (including mine) about Parker haven't panned out. Predictions by many others about Jennings and Stills also not. List goes on and on.

So maybe the one thing we should NOT expect is the reasonable "4-3 at best" with a typical Dolphins 8-8 record at the end :wink2:

Yea, I think we have only seen the team play two really good games this season. They barely won two more along with those. I think many people thought they were going to be more like the Houston and Titans game but they have mostly been poor. Can't see that changing but who knows. I think 4 more wins is very possible and perhaps a steal from one of the New York teams. I also hope they can make a run at the Pats.

I like your thinking regarding Ajayi and his physical play. We need that versus the Patriots.

What I don't understand, at all, is why we got away from what worked so well against the Titans and Texans. We ran all over both teams because we commited to the run. After those two, we went pass happy as **** again. Campbell needs to have a sit down with Lazor and let him know, in no uncertain terms, that we need to run early and often from here on out. And please, for the love of God, delete the shotgun pitch from the play book.

We probably aren't going to the playoffs this year. We have Ross and Queasy to thank for that. As long as Tannehill plays better, our future looks bright. That's the most important facet remaining in the season imho.

I very much dislike plays that start backwards from the line of scrimmage. We will doing well between the tackles and then he calls that crap.

I also dislike the 3 yard routes on 3rd and 7.

Lazor called 2 of these plays(completed pass for negative yrds) twice right after we got a turnover. Killed two separate drives.

I think that we should beat the Cowboys, Ravens, and Chargers. I think NY Jets is a must-win game because it's the team that opened the door for Campbell (and cause the Jets suck). I also think that the Colts are self-destructing and we have a good chance there too. The Giants and Pats always close strong, so I realistically see finishing out 5-2 or 4-3.

HOWEVER, the Pats can't cheat on the road nearly as well as they do at home, which is why we've spanked them 3 years now on our turf. And since it's our own personal little Super Bowl each season, look for a hard-fought W there if we're not playoff bound.

    3-4 or 4-3 to finish.

    7-9/8-8.

Still, we'll probably win the off-season again.

With a 5-2 run, does 9-7 get us into the playoffs?

Due to our bad division and conference record, it depends on what the Bills and Jets do. Assume Pitt gets the 1st WC spot. Right now, it's either the 5-4 Bills or Jets for the second. Both of them need to go 3-4 for us to have a realistic chance with a 9-7 record. Needless to say.. VERY unlikely but that's what it seems like it will take.

If we win Sunday we are right in the mix of things. We need the Jets and Bills to lose, and we need teams like KC, SD, and Houston to stay beneath us. The Raiders are the other worry, but I think they are headed towards a proverbial slide.
I'm shocked that we are 4-5 at the moment. As bad as we looked to start the season, and as bad as the O line and defense have been it's kind of a shock.
We need this game more than Dallas does. Screw them, lets end their season on Sunday.

Normally, it would be questionable...but it's been a strange year with a lot of teams crashing. So basically everyone's still alive. The Jets game is by far our biggest remaining match-up for a chance though, and we are rooting against Pitt, Buffalo and the Jets the rest of the season. Also, we are rooting FOR INDY except when they play us....we want them to win the division instead of becoming another in the playoff race down the stretch-
