When you don't put the limited quarterback in a place to succeed then you are just asking for failure.

Yes, he was one of the best. Even more evidence our passing game as a whole from the OC-QB-OL-WR-TE has taken a huge step backwards. I'm not privy to the game tape so its hard to see if these WRs are creating much seperation, Ryan doesn't throw guys open so we need WRs who can separate that give him the confidence to throw.

Personally, for me... talking performance... through last year, and going into this season, Tannehill's arrow was pointing up. You can't dispute that. Based on his current play on the field, that arrow isn't pointing up anymore, its levelled off, and quite possibly it's declining.

Talking potential though... I think that arrow is still pointing upwards. I'm not sure it's going to be realized here, in this system and structure though the way Lazor is handling things, and without a qualified QB coach and without a stable OL.

To put it another way, the offense was net 7 points.

Really? Because every time I see you post your blaming someone else even when he throws a pick 6. First thing you said was what a horrible play call by Lazor. You're in here all the time blaming every other unit on the team.

Sorry, but I strongly disagree. I agree in principle, but as that game unfolded after we tied it, the defense let us down, as did the special teams. Up to that point, yeah, you're right, but after we tied it, the other two phases of our game, prevented the offense from being in a position to be sucessful.

I usually stay out of these debates, but how can any supporter of Tannehill deny that he crapped the bed yet again in a HUGE game? Yeah the punt was stupid, we'll never know if Tannehill could have picked up that first down. Thing is that option to punt not only sealed Campbells fate, but it may possibly have been a missed chance at redemption for Tannehill. The pendulum has completely swung in the other direction. The season is over barring a miracle and we run the table. I'm just so dissapointed right now. Four years of this! Four years it took to realize Tannehill is not the answer. The search for a quarterback will begin yet again. May not happen this spring, but its coming.

We have a better defense than it really seems, and the reason is they struggle situationally. They also are on the field a lot more than the offense, don't get me wrong I'm not saying our defense is top 10 material.....but they are the lesser of the two evils this season.

Flacco and Forsett both out for the year now. With Suggs and Steve Smith already out. Lmao if we don't win beat the Ravens this year....

Wow, how nice of you to only point out part of the point I was making.

Yes, I did not like the playcall in that situation. You had 2nd and 14 and ran the ball for nothing. You conceded the drive at that point. Don't try and pass downfield if you're going to pass. Call a draw. Call a safe pass like a screen. Why are you pushing downfield. It's 3rd and 14. There's just not a good playcall for that. That being said, as I said during the game, in this very thread. It was a terrible throw and decision from Tannehill. If you're going to try and quote me, at least do it factually. ****.

I know for you, it's about being on a side. Good for you. That's not my approach. I'm looking at it as a whole. If that makes I defend him based on my view of a certain situation or play, so be it. If it means I bash him based on my opinion on the play. So be it. I don't care either way.

Again too much blame on so many people. If Tannehill were the guy he would be playing well regardless. Maybe not winning but he would be playing better.

Not sure why people keep expecting Tannehill to become someone he has never been. That's not how quarterbacks progress, I hate to tell you. Six years since he's started at this position, and he's basically been the same player all the way through.

The green light doesn't suddenly just come on. Rarely happens that way. Tannehill has had different coaches, different players, and 4 years. Same result.

Don't think that's fair. I think you're right when it comes to his decision-making and pocket presence, but there were a ton of throws he couldn't make earlier in his career he can make now. He's definitely better than he was 2-3 years ago. He's just not good enough it seems.

You're really incapable of focusing on more than one thing eh? I said potential in the second part of that post, yet you translate that over to performance to continue your senseless rambling. Come on man... Seriously.

Plain as day, the first half of that, I say his play is declining.

Plain as day, second part I say I'm talking in terms of potential... yet you feel the need to go on about performance, based on that statement. In order for a player to realize his potential, contributions from others are required, in addition to those of the player.

    Again, you're missing the point...

That's what I thought. I know today, there were a couple instances where they were coverage sacks. Especially the key one in the 4th quarter against the 4 man rush. There was nowhere to go with the ball, he simply waited too long to take off and try and make something happen. If he scrambles sooner than he did, like once he recognized there was nowhere to go with the ball, rather than waiting until he knew he was about to get hit, maybe he can make something happen. He was just too late, again.

If you go back to A&M and watch his senior season...you'll see the same throws, same tendencies, same poor efficiency, same inconsistencies, same occasional *wow* plays, same let-downs in big games, middling Passer rating, same underachieving offenses.

QBs don't take slow, incremental climbs to greatness (or even franchise QB proficiency). They just don't. They either flash it within their first 2-3 years, or they don't. If you still have questions about him being a franchise guy after those first few years, you're in trouble and the odds of him becoming that guy are steep. I just think people are mistaken in waiting for this QB to have this super rare trajectory.

9 points... I'd only blame that last safety against the Eagles on Tannehill. Still, not very good.

Yeah.. last 4 weeks, our offense has scored a total of 58 points and given up 13 points for a net total of 45 points. That's around 11 net points per game. No way you can win in the NFL if your offense gives you 11 net points per game! Absolutely pathetic.

You CANNOT blame Tannehill for the pick 6. It is NOT his fault.

First, God made it monsoon and that created turnover type conditions so God is in part to be blamed. Second, The OL who were blocking had their helmets straight up blocking Tannehill's view of McClain. All other teams OL in that situation know to bend their knees and tilt their helmets to the side so Tannehill could have seen McClain, our OL sucked so bad on that play. And do I even need to mention Lazor. He called a pass play on 3rd and 11 and every team knows that is a passing down so he should have called a run. Lazor needs to be fired for that.

    SO STOP BLAMING TANNEHILL!!!

I'm not sure I see the relevance of this. I'm pretty sure nobody here has said the pick six isn't on him. It was a stupid decision. Stupid read. stupid throw... stupid decision.
