I am making since. Football is a team game. Is it not? You get better talent around Jamar Taylor and he is a better player. You expect any CB to play elite level with a bad DL and LBs around him? What about the FS? We need a better FS. If the QB had less time to throw and the LBs dropped in zone coverage better Taylor would be a better player. He could be really good. Now again do you not believe football is a team game? Why all the blame on Jamar Taylor? Why do you think he is an average CB?

A lot more than you're giving him. Anytime someone speaks of his struggles and his inability to lead his team to victory you spout off OL, coaches, and WRs.

    In a perfect world? Sure.

But show me where people are saying that when assigning blame for our record? Its not happening.

What you're not understanding is that I'm asking for specifically how much that "just after not" is worth. Not only am I saying there's a "just after not", I'm asking for them to quantify it.

But they can't. Since they can't, I don't accept the notion that 8-8 is Tannehill's fault or that it proves Tannehill is average or worse.

Especially when I see other MAJOR issues on the team that get glossed over in a rush to just blame Tannehill cause, you know, 8-8.

The difference and what makes your argument moot, is that you base an argument off of people thinking a win or a loss is on the QB only either way. And nobody has actually said that Im guessing...they may have said something to piss you off and you misinterpreted it......that certainly has happened before.

But you are defending against your own conclusions you jump too. Its the most unproductive talking in circles crap on the board. Rather Resor "likes" it or not.

Just be clear on what you are accusing others of before you base 4 weeks worth of arguments off of your own delusions.

    The STAT speaks for itself.

Are you also saying that completions, attempts, yards, TD passes, int, YPA, YPC, fumbles, sacks, etc... are not stats?

And Im on record as saying Ryan has about as little to do with our teams wins or losses as any QB in the league. He simply isn't a game changer good or bad.

So no, I do not need to look at the W/L RECORD to tell me Ryan is average at best, I simply watch the games and come to that conclusion.

How about you prove to me that Jamar Taylor is an average CB. He would play better with a a better DL, LBs, and FS. Once again if the QB has less time to throw that makes things easier for the CB. If we had LBs stuffing the run and dropping back in coverage the team would be better. Now how are you gonna say Jamar Taylor is an average CB? Do you not see the DL and LBs he is playing in front of? He could be top 5 with more help.

leadership is important but it doesnt keep **** ups from happening. if you're a poor player like jason fox you're going to get called on more holding penalties. why? because you're tired of the guy getting by you and you'll cheat to make sure it doesnt happen. the positional coaches have more say in a player's development than a head coach or QB. With our poor track record on oline its an interesting question is it the fault of the OL coaches we have had or the talent they're given by our GMs. I think its the talent personally but i cant say for sure from a couch. i also cant comment from a couch who is or isnt a leader. only the players know. i can say from watching the pressers, the players put the responsibilities on themselves which is good.

Exactly. This is "football 101". I have common sense. I don't need a ****ing made up percentage to know Thill isn't helping us win games. I watch the ****ing games.

He's not doing the same thing I'm doing. This is the problem with you guys.

Here, there's two different arguments going on:

    Argument 1:
W/L record is or is not a QB stat.

    Argument 2:
The offenses woes are mostly or not Tannehill's fault.

The Marino example explains Argument 1. Nothing more.

As for Argument 2, no one is saying Tannehill is playing good enough to win. No one.

The problem comes in when we discuss WHY he's not playing good enough to win. You guess thinks an overwhelming portion of his problem his just him, we think the majority of the problem is a bad oline, bad OC and not being able to audible.

As for comparing Jamar Taylor's struggles to Tannehill's, that;s just stupid for a number fo reasons, not the least of which is that ridiculous amount of differences between the positions, responsibilities and the things that directly each's job.

So u don't have a point. I've never said every win and every loss is on the QB. Go check out Marino 's record though, I'm going to guess it's better than Thills. Why? Because great QBs typically win more than they lose because they're the MOST important position in football. Not the ONLY position but most important. Pluck Marino in his 4th season on this Fins team and they're a HELL of a lot better than 4-6. Why would that be?

    Stop.

Many of the people I'm arguing with use the W/L record as PROOF the QB is bad or average, including yourself. That is clear and has been clear.

If you guys can't follow that, I'm not responsible.

Also, free advice back to you: that's not what moot means.

Nope never once said that. The defense and OL need work but that doesn't excuse Tannehill from being an average QB. Just like the poor play of the DL doesn't remove the secondary from blame.

I'm stilling waiting for you to prove to me how Jamar Taylor is an average CB when is has a bad DL, LBs, and FS playing around him. Its not his fault. We have other holes on this team. Jamar Taylor could be really good with better talent around him. Give him a top DL and LB unit and then see what he does.

    Sigh.

    - If you use W/L record as a QB stat, then you think wins and losses are all on the QB, otherwise you can't hold them responsible for every loss (or win).
Example: Tannehill's record can't be all his fault unless you think that for every QB.

    - If you want to say you don't believe the QB is responsible for every win or loss but still want to use W/L record as a QB stat then you need to explain to what percentage if you want others to go along with it.

19th. Yes very average. And that isn't even counting guys like Foles, Peyton Manning, and Mariota. Who knows when what Peyton looks like after coming back from injury. Foles looked good in Philly. More time he could play well again. Mariota is looking better than Tannehill his rookie year. Maybe even Winston too in a couple years.

You are literally inventing an argument in your head then wanting me to defend it.

What are you talking about? A better DL and LBs doesn't make the CB better? How can you argue that Taylor is average when he has bad players around him? Put better pieces around him and I bet he does better. More pressure from the DL. LBs stuffing the run and causing them to pass more. LBs dropping back in coverage and not allowing easy completions. You do know this is a team game right? Jamar Taylor could be really good. The team just needs a better DL and LBs. Need a better FS too. How can you blame him when the DL can't get consistent pressure and the FS is blowing coverage deep? And what about the LBs? You can't expect a young CB to perform well with all these holes on the defense. You just can't.

Do you realize you replied to a post I made where I explained imo that Ryan has basically nothing to do with wins and losses, with an accusation that I use the W/L record as "PROOF" That a Qb is good or bad???

    Really?

Do you understand now why its hard to take you seriously??

    Again.

You replied to a post I made claiming Ryan had as little to do with W/L record by accusing me of using W/L record as a measuring stick??
