What are the injury issues? A knee injury when he was like a freshman in college, and then cracked ribs this year which could have put him out for like 3 weeks. What else has there been that has held him out to where he now has "issues"?

Lamar Miller had "injury issues" too when he came out of college. His shoulder was a problem and potentially a career limiting issue.

People are speculating about that thing with his knee. Missing the soft tissue in the joint or whatever.

Yes, it is speculation. I don't think it should be passed off as fact.

If you can keep miller for cheap then so be it but if he is going to break the bank then goodbye.
Look at all the backup running backs that have peformed well when the starter went down.Rawls for lynch, williams for bell, west for charles, williams for mcoy.Hell chris johnson was signed off the street and he is now the starter. We need to spend the money on guards, linebackers and cbs not running backs.Ajiai can be starter and have a cheaper option from the later rounds in 2016 draft.

Ok I'm assuming Lamar Miller is gonna get a big offer from some team in FA. It would be stupid to spend all that money on a RB that isn't even better than our 2nd RB... we have too many holes to fill in other positions. We have less than half a defense and half an OL. Maybe save that money for positions that matter more...

Like I said before if we can get him back at a reasonable price I'd love to, but I suspect someone else will overpay. You know how I know they will? Cause Tannebaum is one of those GMs that likes to over pay for individuals in FA.

I think it's pretty safe to say this goes beyond speculation, he was a 2nd round talent that lasted into the 5th round, we took him with our 2nd 5th round pick.

Medical history is confidential so there's no place to get hard info, but the reports that he has cartilage missing in his right knee are most likely true due to the fact that some teams took him off their board, NFL teams don't get their info from PFT, lol, they get it straight from the doctors who performed his surgery, as in medical reports, which are available to all teams.

So it's safe to say there are long term concerns with Ajayi, who knows what will happen in the future, but he is clearly a guy that you hedge your bets with, I think he was a good 5th round pick, but it wouldn't be smart to put all your eggs in a basket that the bottom might fall out of.

2 headed backfields are the norm in the NFL these days, and Ajayi can be a great part of a 1, 2 punch, and it would be smart to plan it just that way.

I'd take the much cheaper 3 back punch. But more importantly, I'd like to see Ajayi get more burn this season, and the Dolphins front office should demand it. So we can relieve(or not, hopefully so) injury concerns, and see if he can continue running well as he has with his limited opportunities.

To me, there is a difference between a concern and an issue. Issues are verifiable and/or repeatable, while concerns are things that have yet to bear out and may not (although there may be data to suggest something is more likely or not). I'll freely recognize there probably are concerns about Ajayi's knee (to a degree, there should be about any running backs knees), but similarly there were concerns about Drew Brees' shoulder and Peyton Manning's neck (they are well known, only reason I chose them). Just because there is a cause for concern, does not mean something will indeed happen, it just means you need to be judicious in your decisions.

To say Ajayi has a constant knee issue is wrong IMO, unless there is proof to back it up. And I don't mean proof in that he dropped in the draft, because plenty of players have dropped due to concerns and gone on without issue (or gone on for a long time - Lamar Miller as a cited is an example of exactly this), while others were taken high because the concerns were minimal or overlooked and those players failed to deliver due to actual issues.

I mean Miller was rated as an end of the 1st round type prospect who we got at the top of the 4th. How about we let injury issues appear before writing off Ajayi's ability to contribute long term?

It sounds to me like someone is saying we have a great blocking OL. That's why our backs have been so good (when used).

They are certainly better at run blocking than pass blocking, but we have two talented runners as well in Miller and Ajayi. Notice Damien Williams behind the same line.

    Well said.

You don't not play or write off a player who has fallen cause of injury concerns, because you drafted him knowing of those concerns! We didn't take a chance on AJayi for him to ride the PINE whether or not we resign Miller.

I still want to know the rb Hickey had pegged in the second round of the draft before getting **** blocked by Tannenballs...

I agree that I'm fine with however it shakes out...just fix the line.

Wouldn't mind letting Miller go and picking up an even bigger, more powerful back than Ajayi in the draft. Get some big *** linemen as well. Tired of seeing our guys getting overpowered.

That said, would love to see us keep Lamar and actually use him, you know, like we actually trust him.
