Murray may have been a bigger factor than people thought, although he's not been spectacular in Philly.

You're riding both sides by saying that you don't believe the QB is responsible for 9 wins, but at the same time using the improved by 9 games record as proof of how good Luck is.

I'm not going through all the work of reposting all the statistics and comparisons of Tannehill. It wasn't a single post in a single thread.

I don't have anything bookmarked. I did it all through my phone, which was annoying enough. If you don't want to go through my replies, that's fine. I don't want to either. But don't cast doubt unless you at least check what I've posted or do some research yourself and post them for us to see.

Murray was a great RB for Dallas and doesn't fit the Eagles offense at all.

Let's be clear here though. Their running game hasn't suffered, really and Murray only had a single season as the NFL's leading rusher. Romo has carried that team for a while already. Anybody would tell you Romo is a much bigger loss than Murray was.

To me our problems are mostly nothing that solid coaching could not fix, we lack..jointness

Meaning, units do not compliment each other, ST screws the offense, which then screws the defense via field position, or giving up safeties or even the longest punt from the 1 yd line, still gives the opponents starting field position at least at their 45 yd line.

Call it a failure chain, one unit screws the other, screws the other, screws the other

We have great athletic talent, what we lack is experience and a focus

I've seen plenty of your posts. I haven't seen you do any comprehensive comparison of the individual players and units of the Dolphins as compared to other teams. I've seen some comparison of Tannehill to other QBs. Our oline compared to some other team's oline. Our receivers to some other team's receivers. But I've yet to see anyone show that these other QBs that people are favoring over Tannehill, based on wins and playoffs, have had to deal with as much inadequacy, at pretty much every facet of the team, as Tannehill.

Show me a successful QB that had average to below average receivers AND worst oline in the league AND bad OC who won't run the ball AND bad coaches AND inconsistent at best, bad at worst, defense AND subpar special teams.

    Show me that successful QB.

You're trying to bait me into reposting everything. As for team comparisons, I've shown rankings of our OL's run and pass ratings along with our defensive rankings.

You're making a lot of claims without any statistics. Instead of baiting me to repost, if you want the info so bad, go through my replies or post the research yourself.

You know I'm not going to redo all of that. I don't repeat myself.

I don't need to. You guys are the ones acting like Tannehill should be able to overcome all these obstacles. I have yet to see anyone show me a team, with a successful QB, who wins games, who has all of these obstacles on one team.

Yes, I'm not disputing that you've shown some statistics here and there. I'm disputing that:

    1. Your statistics show what you think
    2. That your statistics are fair.

Comparing the Dolphins oline to Seattle's, and the receivers to Carolina's, and the defense to whoever, doesn't really do anything. Compare the overall Seattle team to Miami. Compare the overall Carolina team to Miami.

Can you think of a team, THAT IS SUCCESSFUL, that is as dysfunctional at every level of the team, coaches included, add Miami?

Not at all..the throw gets a negative grade...very simple...receiver was open.protection was there..ball was under throw. To a point where the defender messed with the integrity of landrys hands..negative play if your grading..

Landry straight dropped it, dude. Defender didn't mess with anything. Ball could have been better. It still hit him on his hands.

Would have been nice to see the "integrity of Landry's hands" with 9:50 left in the Jags game. Tannehill put it right on him, and he dropped it and probably cost us the game. Talk about a negative play if your grading, devastating drop, plain and simple. No one is saying Tannehill made a good throw, the point many seem to be missing is that Landry still needs to make that catch, or at least an elite WR would be expected to.

I have compared teams overall to ours. I'm not going to do it again, it's too much work. I'm not going to repost it, it's too much work finding it.

I don't use statistics I don't like. I don't use the QBR, for example. How else could I be unfair?

That was not a dropped pass. The defender broke it up by ripping at his arms. If you want to argue Landry should have fought through the defender's breakup of the pass and catch it anyway, that's fine. But it's not a dropped pass.

That's fair, but at the end of the day, he could/should have caught that ball. Or at least an elite NFL WR would. And the drop in the Jax game, there was no excuse for that. Another example of Juice not concentrating throughout the process of the catch. I love Juice, but his hands aren't on the Larry Fitz level yet, if ever.

    LOL

We're not arguing about the throw. I've already said it wasn't what it should have been.

Still hit Landry in the hands, and should have been caught.

Hence my statement, that this was a microcosm of Tannehill. Teammates can't make plays. It's all on Tannehill. Ball isn't perfect? They don't catch it. Tannehill can't escape a pocket like elite players? Let's let tons of pressure through. Tannehill plays better with a run game? Let's not run much. Tannehill struggles to overcome 4th quarter deficits? Let's let opponents score tons of points.

Incredible but not shocking that the Ryan slurps want to discuss Landry not making the play....ironically they shed away from Wallace when he was open by 4-5 yds yet came back and made the play.

These guys pick and choose and make excuse after excuse for Ryan, its sad our fans are that desperate for a good QB that they apologize for Ryan at every avenue.

I WANT to have a good QB too, but I also have no desire to lie to myself.

At least you get it dude. Of course Landry should have done a better job of catching that ball, admitting that though is contrary to many peoples agenda's. Kind of like giving Suh credit where credit is due, people don't like to admit when they're wrong even though probably every player in the NFL knows the guy is a top 3 at his position.

Not 1 person has said it was a good throw, no excuses have been made for him. People are just so blind with Tannehill hate they can't admit it when our best receiver drops a catch-able ball, pathetic. And the Jags game, what did Tannehill do wrong when Landry dropped that CRITICAL 3rd down? No one wants to even discuss that lmfao!

Here is a reasonable (IMO) breakdown of the play.

    Good play call by Lazor
    Good Protection for the play
    Poor pass by Ryan
    Good play by the DB

Its rare that Lazor calls a good play and we get good protection, but Ryan simply missed a wide open Landry allowing the DB to make up ground and make a good play.

This doesn't mean Ryan is the worst starting QB in the NFL, this doesn't mean Bill Lazor or the OL are good....but that play Ryan failed all by himself.

Landry had a terrible game, but that doesn't make a bad pass ok in my book.

If you throw that to a big-bodied WR it's probably a catch. The Dolphins featuring Jarvis Landry as a do-everything type of WR is...idk...less than ideal.

I thought we drafted Devante Parker so HE could be the one making those kind of grabs, lol?!

Ryan made a bad throw, Juice could have made a great catch if he was stronger with his hands and concentrated better like an elite WR would/should do. That's the most fair way of looking at it imo because you know damn well that if Landry holds on stronger he has a chance to catch that ball. And the Jags game, DEVASTATING drop as well but unlike this one Tanny isn't at fault for that, just Juice and his lack of concentration.

You won't find an argument from me overall on some of his untimely drops. But that play should've been a huge gain and possibly changed the entire game.

My opinion, it was a poor throw from Tannehill, but it was a play that Landry absolutely should have made.

Generally RT is not nearly as bad as people think. And, I am in agreement with all of this with three caveats:

    1) The pass to Cameron was very accurate and a very solid TD pass. But, Cameron broke open earlier and that pass, while a great pass, also illustrates RT's weakness. His passing is not inaccurate but his mind is slow and his ability to react and see the play opening up is slow. Cameron was open as soon as he made his final cut and if RT reads the D like a really good QB he sees that and the ball is delivered to the same spot but 1/2 second earlier and it's on the money. The TD is not the problem and this is not being overly critical of that play as much as it is something that illustrates a continual problem that RT too often does not throw the ball in timing routes until he sees a receiver is clearly open. He still needs better instincts.

    2) There were drops but a couple of them were on RT. The drop/break-up to Landry when RT hit him early on a streak route (0:44 mark on the video) was on RT as Landry had to slow down and wait on the ball. If that ball is right in stride - the Dallas defender is not going to get a hand in there.

    3) RT still looks right at his target too much.

It is true that this happens to every QB - no QB is perfect. But, so too, drops happen to every QB.

The OG spot is the biggest weakness on this team and there's no basis whatsoever for waiting to see if these guys develop. We don't have that kind of time window. Two new OGs are needed this next year or this team will continue to have an achilles heal on the OL.

That said, RT still needs to improve and make bigger plays and hit open WR's in stride, not look at his #1 target the whole way, and throw timing better if he's going to be a top 10 QB.

    Wut?

I'm isolating Landry on that play. I'm taking the bad throw out, and purely looking at Landry.

I then generalized, speaking about that one play exemplifying the Dolphins.

Ready to analyze Tannehill and Luck? Maybe you'll have time this weekend. Or should I ask at the end of the regular season?

I wanna put this argument to bed forever. Do us a favor and stick to the games we know for sure Luck was healthy. You've got 3 full seasons.

This I agree with. That big bodied WR should have been Allen Robinson but we passed him up for physically limited Landry. Landry is a good player but the board has hyped him up too much. Work ethic and attitude is only good for that one player. Reggie Bush had the same ethic and it didn't really affect players around him.
