As I was saying earlier, it came up the middle, at 2:50 in these highlights; http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-york-jets/0ap3000000590681/Dolphins-vs-Jets-highlights
Rt is very intelligent, he just has the worst pocket awareness ever. His accuracy has been bad. Ball placement that will get players hurt. Has not been utilized to his stenghts. Has not not been allowed to leave the pocket as much as needed. Unable to throw the ball away when the rusher is running straight at him in his line of vision. Made me want to throw the remote. Very hard to watch.
Pretty sure we won't see Pouncey this year. Last update on my phone was MRI tomorrow... but.. well, nevermind.
He is tradeable, but I beleive that the dump clause is after next year. The Memphis QB will require a trade up. Matt Moore has produced better for us that what we currently have. He was an mvp
Ive been critical of his awareness since day one, still waiting for it to surface. I really don't think he has a feel for defenses and his anticipation issues were broken down in a very thorough cut up by Alen1. The fact he isn't being developed well and his OL is swiss cheese doesn't help either, but these things are among my biggest gripes with 17.
Thanks, hadn't seen it. Looks like his outlet was designed to be the back, but he had to wait for him to release. **** play all around.
MVP??? Matt Moore??? The dude who won 1 game for Carolina as a starter? The guy who turned the ball over 6 times in his last 3 starts as a Dolphin??? The same dude who as a FA was ignored by the whole NFL this past offseason???? MVP???
You should care if he's overpaid. There's a hard salary cap. You need to jam pack as much talent for your money as possible. I don't necessarily think we'd do better with Moore. I just never wanted to draft Tannehill with the 8th overall pick. I'd have done so many things different with the Fins over the years. But the point is I'd rather ride with Moore and work on the rest of the team to then hand the keys over to a QB I think can do something with it. I completely disagree. We need a defensive coach with a run-first mentality. Dalton did improve but he's got a STACKED team. I haven't been watching the Bengals much but I don't know how much credit Hue Jackson deserves for that. I think it's a mistake to think Dalton + Hue Jackson = winning. Not saying that's your position but that's what I see from the surface. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agreed at the time. It's hard to do though, becuase if you bench him, it's hard to go back to him for the next start. Especially at halftime when the game was still somewhat close. Someone has to get a message to both him, and Lazor though, or nothing is going to improve. Do you have a link to that? I love Alen, smart kid. I'd love to check it out. Sad he's not around here as much as before. I dont even recall seeing him on twitter lately. Damn he was a smart kid. Haven't even seen him around club in a long time.
Since 1962. He has never been good, nothing but average. He won some meaningless games vs. teams with a losing record in 2011, then proceeded to lose the last 3 vs. winning teams with 6 turnovers. That is not MVP quality.
MVP of the 2011 season, was 7-6 as a starter with the Panthers, not a 1 game winner, and was 2-1 in his last 3 starts with us.
I think the ideal team to trade with is Dallas. Tannehill is a Cowboy fan. Already has a TD pass to a Cowboy from last week when he got good OL protection. Romo is up in age so time for Dallas to start thinking about life after him. Dallas will be drafting early given their record. If Miami can get their 1st round pick or one of their quality OL and a 2nd Miami should do it in a heartbeat.
Thanks for ignoring the real reasong for me saying I don't care... because, again, who would we have replaced him with? Well, that's hindsight for you. What has Moore shown over his career to earn himself the role of career backup? Oh, that's right. Carefull what you wish for, and y the way, no way we're benching Tannehill for Moore with the contracts currently in place... It's the OC that goes, long before the QB... So... so many say the defense isn't the blame, and its the offense, but we need a defensive coach? Huh? Take a look into Hue's career in coaching. He's been in basically every coaching position. He's more than qualified for HC. His time with Oakland, is meaningless, it's Oakland (at the time he was there anyways). By all accounts, media, players, on field, Jackson has had an impact on that team, and that offense, and that QB. Yes, they have alot of talent. No doubt. But lets be honest, we're tied to Tannehill a bit longer. IT was the likely best choice at the time, whether we like it or not. Bring in an experienced coach, offensively, who's not full of rainbows and puppies with a "system" like GB's and Philbin, and lets try and fix what we have, while we have it, and if not, then move on while letting him, select a new QB... Based on Hue's experience... you can put alot of trust into his resume. Defensive... I assume you mean Sean Payton. Who's relied on Drew Brees, and Greg Williams' illegal bounty oriented defense to get him his accolades. No thanks. And if not Payton... then who are you thinking?
I might consider Tannehill would be a decent QB if he had a good OL if he didn't have one of the best OL in all of college football his senior year and his play looked exactly like it has all 4 years he has been a Dolphin. He simply does not have the intangibles to be a franchise type QB in the NFL.
His record playing for the dophins is far better than RT. He also averaged 28 points per game in his MVP 2011 season with us. Give the man the respecr that he deserves.
I do not...not sure if it was in Club or the mains but it was an accurate breakdown on Ryan's struggles anticipating. Granted it was likely 2 years ago when Alen was posting. Have no idea what happened to him, he was very bright and we had some great football discussion via PM's about schemes etc which used to fascinate me and definitely him too. I thought I heard he took on a minor position coach role somewhere?? Not sure, but the board is better with him around.
Ok....Tannehill isn't the answer....I'll ask again... Who is? Who can we replace him with that will be an upgrade over him going in to next season? I need names....A list.
Agreed man. I remember when Alen was a 16 year old kid around here when we first formed this place, and he was head and shoulders above so many of us. He got the game. I remember PM'ing with him, he wanted to be a scout/GM. Just a great guy. So smart. I know he posted some stuff around draft time in the club this year. He was on twitter around draft time. I'm going to track his prior posts around here to check for what you mention, and see if I can track him down. Love to get his insight on this. I think I remember seeing it though.
Stuck with him next year no matter what. We can dump him after next season. Figure out a way to get the kid from Memphis. We always can ride with Moore if someone is dumb enough to take RTs contract.
I'm not ignoring anything. I'm saying I'd rather invest in other positions. Not hindsight. I've said it for years. I said it before we even drafted him. I don't believe I was a poster here at that time but I've definitely said it earlier in his career on this forum since then. Moore has replaced Tannehill and shown flashes. Led us to 35 against the Jets one time. Another time came in at the end of the game (forgot against who) when we were losing and hit a deep bomb on the first play for like 50. Then got intercepted but hey, the game was over by that point. He's also had just as good of a record, if not better than Tannehill as a starter. We could've improved that same team as well then handed the keys to someone who was ready. Instead Philbin and Ireland dumped seemingly everybody and put in Tannehill. Stopped reading after the first statement. I'm just gonna say defense wins championships, running helps rookies and veterans. We've tossed enough resources at the offense with Tannehill as the starter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow. He was better than who... Chad Henne in 2011? Damn... Thank god for that. He lead us to a stellar 6-6 record in 12 games, with 16 td's and 9 ints, averaging about 192. yards per game with an 87 Qbr, while surrendering 36 sacks. If that's MVP calibre... you should be blown away with Tannehill. Seriously guys, come on, I know the backup QB is like, the most loved guy on most teams, always because of how much fans have been trained to hate the starter, but... Matt Moore isn't going to help us. If he helps us at all... it actually hurts us.
Ok... so if you arent going to read stuff, why are you here? Only to present your own opinion as fact, and disregard others? You're going to have some great conversations... Again... if you think he's over paid, who would you have replaced him with, rather than giving him the deal? Apparently Matt Moore? Great idea.. We don't need to explore that much further. I'm not here to defend Ryan... not at all, but... lets be serious about this discussion here... who? Then you want to go on and discuss a coaching change, and your desire for a defensive HC, but again won't read anything anyone else has to say about that, given the current status of the team? Ok, so great... you don't want to read, or discuss anything. So... why are you here?
Seriously dude. He posted a winning record in relief of Henne for the season and averaged 28 points per game. He was awarded the MVP for the season. He has a higher winning percentage as a Dolphin than our current QB and several others. I'm not suddenly a fan of his nor do I think he is the savior of the franchise. I just do not feel that what we currently have has ever been better than him and the fact back it up.
No, I stopped reading after that baiting comment in the third paragraph. You're doing it again. I have plenty of good debates here. I've said numerous times who I'd have kept and signed and drafted before we drafted Tannehill. I read what you said about Hue Jackson and responded. Reread what I said about that. You're exaggerating. I've read everything that didn't start with a baiting comment. I responded. I know you don't like me because I disagree with seemingly everything you say but don't be unfair and misrepresent me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spot on Brandon, I would not be surprised to see Moore Released after the season for a cheaper younger back up. I always liked Moore... But as nothing more than a back up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6-6 is a winning record? To me, thats .500. That's not winning. Thats mediocre. Average. Just like we are now. I think you should look at 2011 again. By my quick glance Moore started 13 games. We scored 260 points in those games. That doesn't work out to 28 points per game. Again, quick glance here, maybe I missed a start or made a mistake... but... I dunno.. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/mia/2011.htm
That's our front offices job to figure out. Along with the other 52 guys on the roster which is a big pile of stinking s**t year in and year out. To answer your question, until we get a better option, Tannehill is the guy. I wouldn't be afraid to draft one if the opportunity came along. If not, we need to start upgrading our roster and drafting players that make an impact on our team. Our franchise has been set back a decade or more because of horrible drafts and personnel moves.
That is a question for the offseason. The 1st step is for the FO to get their head out and admit Miami needs an upgrade at the QB position. Then start doing their homework. Not the strongest QB class this year. Top dog right now looks like Lynch. Goff and Cook possibilities as well. Perhaps Hackenburg in the 2nd. Or Doughty or Kessler in the middle to later rounds. The QB I think they should go after is Hundley with GB. I thought he was the 3rd best QB in the draft last year. Certainly looked the part in preseason and a year learning from Rogers...I would roll the dice with him.
What? You're clearly being a bit dramatic here. I didn't bait you on anything. The third paragraph of my post was me saying, a defensive head coach? Why, its our offense that's struggling. That's not baiting you into anything other than giving your opinion, so we can discuss it. If you aren't prepared to do that, just say so, rather than saying I'm baiting you into something... Jeez...
Matt Moore had a 87 rating in his MVP season. Ryan Tannehill has a 89 rating this season which most would agree has been underwhelming. What does that say about the people begging for Moore?
Tannehill's passer rating is highly inflated...I dont care about this argument. But passer rating doesnt mean much with this...
Ok, serious question for everyone involved in this debate. Why are you so quick to dispose of Ryan Tannehill, instead of seeing him with a new coaching staff? I don't recall seeing so many anti-Tannehill posts before this season. Which tells me most people hopped off the bandwagon recently. So, why not see what a new staff can do with a guy who has had success in this league?
