Christmas comes early. Thank God we don't have to squeeze out a Herculean effort to uphold the honor of the undefeated team...Probably would 've had more fan inguinal hernias than a country wide squatting competition in China.
I could live easier if Carolina did it vs the Pats, I dont thin they will, but not nearly as bad if the pats did it.
I'm not gonna lie, I really wanted New England coming into our house at 15-0. It would have been a hell of a storyline. Either way, few things are better than seeing a Belichick lose.
perfect world, id love the pats to go 18-1, but man I rather just have them lose. I remember finally accepting they were going to be 19-0 in 2007, and when the Giants did what they did, I thought, this is how its going to feel if the Dolphins win a super bowl! I thought, no team would ever go 19-0 if that Patriot team, the best team EVER, had they won of course, failed to do so. I am now rooting for a Panthers loss, and ill tell you what, if for some reason, Carolina is 18-0 and Patriots are playing them in the Super Bowl, as much as I would hate to do it, id root for the Patriots to win. Something special being the only team to have a perfect season. One more super bowl to the patriots wont change anything
I'm glad the Patriots lost and won't go undefeated but it sucks that's all we have to hold on to these days.
Right there with you. It's just impossible to get passionate about this current Dolphins team. But my passion for hating the Patriots burns hot.
With a competitive team maybe... I didn't want that at all as we would have to live forever with the knowledge that the only undefeated team in history was at home defending that honor and choked to their division rivals. that would have been harder to swallow...
I would rather they finished the season 16-0, so the perfect season pressure cooker gets revved up, to see them get tight and lose due to the massive pressure, now they got that loss out of the way, you can just hand over the Lombardi trophy now.
Carolina has the Falcons twice, the Bucs, the Giants and the Saints left on their schedule....the best of those teams being 1 game above .500. Three of the four teams are division rivals, but it does look fairly realistic that they'll go 16-0 without a miracle. Carolina is currently my home team so I'm rooting for them to win it all (it's become my default back-up team being a life-long Dolphins fan), but I really hope that they lose one out of the next five. Because I think they're winning it all this season and I'd really like for them not to join Perfectville with our Fins. If they do go 16-0 though, then I don't know what the heck I'm going to root for. So they need to lose soon.
I dont want New England to do it but I want another team to do it. I'm tired of this franchise clinging to tradition and our past to distract our fanbase from the fact that for the majority of my 32 years on this planet we have sucked.
To each his own, but I hope no other Dolphins fan agrees with you. Records help make athletes/sports teams special and I really hope we're the ONLY team in history to ever have that on our resume (so if it's going to be done again, it better be the Dolphins doing it a second time).
