the 1984 Miami Nebraska game was on last night/afternoon. I got in on it late, it will be on again as per this schedule.. on the Sunshine network. It is/was maybe our greatest game, and I got to watch it with my son who had never seen it. They had Bernie and Howard as hosts and the discussion was fabulous. I WILL get it recorded this time around. I HIGHLY recommend this game!

lol I know. As long as Tressel is still around we should have at least 2 guys taken in round 1. Probably going to have at least 4 maybe 5 in 09draft.

    That's a negative to me.

They can wrap it up in pretty paper and a bow telling us how that will benefit the team but in the end it just means they don't think anyone is ready.

Mavre has a season under his belt so he should be the best candidate to step up and take the lead.

Yeah, it sounds like 'we'll go with the best one' after the season starts. God, I hope they have if figured out when we play Florida. I don't want to be sitting in the stands with my thumb up my *** hoping for a miracle, surrounded by sure-minded Tebow fans. I hate to say it, but that guy could score in a Hurricane.

He's really good, no doubt. But their defense can be scored on. I think the game will be closer than people realize, but only if Allen Bailey is healthy. There's something unpredictable about rivalry games. Good luck to anyone who has money on the game.

I know the Northwestern Alum's are itching to bring the hurt on Urban Meyer and his squad. He told them Miami would wreck their careers, etc, etc...

Miami at Penn State Nov 3, 1979 on at 8pm est tonight Sun sports network. This was the pivitol game boys.. our first big win with Howard, Jim Kelly's first start, the very first game of the Miami Hurricane dynasty that encompassed playing for the national championship ten times, winning five. They are at FAU and the conversation is great, Howard is a good host with interesting stories. I watch this "Gridiron Greats" series a LOT, they feature some very good games.

Yes they do and unlike ESPN Classic Sun shows games we won. With the exception of the Nebraska game ESPN never shows a replay of us winning.

I am cautiously optimistic for this year. As mentioned the ACC is nothing special right now. Virginia was decimated with problems this off season. FSU as long as Bowden stays is a 7-8 win team. VT lost their top RB and WR which was unexpected. i look for GT to have a huge fall off with their new offense and their starting QB from last year transfered due to the change. UNC and NCST we gave them the wins last year. I don't think this teams packs it. The biggest problem last year was the Defense knew the Offense couldn't score and once we were down it was over.

Regardless of the Florida game and even the a2m game we have a shot at the ACC championship game this year. Those games should get this young team ready and while wins at both would be great it is not the end all although I fully expect a win at a2m. Clemson is the best team on paper and we don't play them.

I'm getting kind of tired of all this THUG - U bs. They call Miami thugs yet they only have three incidents in the past four years (Remember that number three as you read the rest of my post). There was another incident but it wasn't started by Miami. I came across an article today that talked about Miami and its label of THUG-U. It talked about how Miami hasn't had much trouble and the team that is loved throughout Florida, has been the troubled ones. That team is the Florida Gators. The Gators have had 97, I repeat 97 arrests and legal troubles in the last decade.

Yeah, I know we'll be number one again but the fact is that they make statements like those and then fail to support it.

He is also getting recruiting advise from Patrick Johnson I mean Patrick Peterson. Wonder if Carter's dad will get a new job if he signs with a certain team? Not saying L$U would ever cheat or anything.

90% of the D-1 teams have had more arrests/issues than us since the start of the Davis era. Dumb reporters that can't research info spewing garbage. Led by ESPN. The world leader in man crushes.

It isnt just about arrests that gets one labeled a thug. You guys earned that nickname over a period of time, you cant get rid of it because of a low arrest total over the last decade. (Recruiting the likes of Willie Williams and the FIU brawl arent going to help your cause any)Nicknames are hard to get rid of, I suggest you embrace the label like so many other Miami fans seem to have done lol.

Top-rated TE Charles rates Miami visit as “10”

Orson Charles of Tampa, Fla., one of Georgia’s top recruiting targets, said he nearly committed to Miami during a recent visit to the ACC school.

When asked to rate his trip to Miami, Charles scored it a “10.” Explained Charles, “I really did enjoy myself. I got to talk with a lot of players. I feel like it is an up-and-coming program.”

Charles is a member of the AJC’s Super Southern 100 and rated as the nation’s No. 1 tight end by Rivals. He has 29 scholarship offers, and said Oregon appears to on the verge of making an offer.

The 6-foot-3, 227-pound Charles is one of two tight ends that Georgia is heavily recruiting, along with Arthur Fontaine of Dartmouth, Mass., who may be close to committing to Georgia but is also considering Boston College, Virginia and Maryland. Rivals rates Fontaine as the No. 4 tight end.

    http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/s...cruit/entries/2008/08/09/toprated_te_cha.html

Wonder if we will ever see another Kellen Winslow or Jeremy Shockey.

It must be noted he has almost done the same thing on other visits. In the end he is a Cane. And more than likely the only TE that will remain a TE. The others appear to be going to the OL (2) and DE (1) as they are bigger and slower.

Charles has the right size and speed to be a great TE.

Yeah I saw that, disappointing to say the least. Randy Phillips is the big loss here as well as Marve. Regarding the QB decision, I saw on ESPN that they named Jacory Harris starter prior to the suspensions so I don't know why it says Marve.

I think they did that because they knew they were going to suspend Marve. He is clearly the better QB of the two. No way Harris starts over him.

I just hope we got it together in a couple of weeks. Marve could've used the game experience by playing this week, as well as a few of the other guys, but if you mess up then you don't get to play.
