You're telling me if we scour this forum for posts about the defense during Tannehill's first couple of years that we're not gonna find evidence of the contrary?

Anybody care to find the stats on this? I clearly remember our defense being the best part of this team early on.

Pay no attention to these claims...the defense has outperformed the offense 3 out of 4 years since Ryan was drafted. It's just another poor attempt to apologize for a QB who is becoming a bust.

It's probably debatable even this season considering our third down conversion rate and time of possession.

Of course one can...you only say that b/c your fellow is toward the very bottom of the list...QBR includes the very things listed, GWD, 4th Qtr +/- 7 points, etc...all quantify leadership and the "it" factor. Next Generation is starting to revolutionize the way one can look at the game.

You just choose to live in a state of Tannehill denial...I really can't help that every time I see your posts that are demeaning and sarcastic picturing a 12 year old in his Tannehill pajamas laying on his Tannehill bed sheets and comforter looking up daydreaming at all his Tannehill posters on the ceiling...TOO FUNNY!

He also didn't sign a franchise QB contract either, 2 years 7+ mil, less than 4 mil per.

That'd be me....and feel free to put who I was referring to as well. I think AdamPrez is making a strong case though to replace Fin D. I've never laughed so much at a guy reaching for any non sense possible. The Tannehill critics that more accurately should be referred to as the "common sense crowd" shouldn't even have to debate this anymore. Tannehill's play is doing more for out argument than our words could ever come close to doing.

The defense is def better than the offense this year, it was last season the offense actually looked like it had the potential to be good and led by a top 10-12 QB.....we were wrong.

Ah, yes. Year one of the magical Chip Kelly offense that made Foles look like a football god but has been exposed. Yeah, that didn't really count. Lipstick on a pig as far as I'm concerned.

It helped we had a game breaker with speed who also had 10Tds and our QB looked like a budding star when throwing to him. Now? Teams just sit on the underneath routes. Nobody is afraid of Kenny Stills.

Yep. Nearly half of his TDs went to a guy everybody complained about. We all know Tannehill should've done more with Wallace.

Edit: Forgot that he had 27, not 24. Still, 10 out of 27 is significant. Should've been a lot more.

some are crowing because you were one of many that kept telling us we were wrong, and here you are again keeping it it up, just admit you were wrong, until you do that expect to hear sh##.

wilson has a 106 rating, right around 70% comp %, with an 8.5 ypa, with almost 500 yards rushing...put that in your christmas stocking..

please stop bro, you picked the wrong guy..

From what I've heard, Bridgewater is bad at long passes. Wallace has elite speed. He needs QBs that can hit him in stride. Tannehill was terrible at that.

What's no coincidence to me is Big Ben is doing fine without Wallace. My point is that good QBs can do well with decent WRs.

ryan has thrown better deep balls this year, he's learned to throw them early like he should of been doing last year with wallace, if the coaches had him wait til wallace was 50 yards downfield that was wrong..

While I'm not going to get into whose better (it's wilson) I will say this. The Seahawks defense looked pretty mediocre to start the season, and so did wilson. Now their defense is ballin, and so is wilson.

I would say the same applies to us. When I defense plays well, typically tannehill looks good too. Our 5 wins featured good defensive performance, our 7 losses feature some very bad ones.

I can't quite figure it out personally, it's almost like it's a team sport, but idk that just seems too far fetched.

For the people that thought I was crazy to say Campbell was covering for Tannehill because he's weak minded, watch the post game interviews. Tell me they're not deflecting. It's pathetic.

Gee, idk, I think time of possession and third down conversions are crucial. They help keep your defense off the field. It's almost like its a team sport, but idk that just seems too far fetched.

Time of posession is a defensive Stat as much as an offensive stat. If we're getting destroyed in TOP in means the defense isn't getting off the field. Also their probably giving up a lot 3rd downs.

hav you watched the guy in isolation?..his numbers back it up..you continue to hate on a player for no good reason.

he's got nearly 500 yards rushing...ryan hasn't run on his own in 6 strait games..

It sure is but it doesn't help when we're absolute **** in third down conversions. Tannehill could barely even convert on 3rd and short today.

Idk about you but it seems like the offense hardly ever capitalizes on good situations. Wasn't it last week that we got three straight starting positions of 40+ yards? What'd we get from that? Miller rushed for over 100 yards today. What'd we get out of that?

The only "good" season our offense had was the first year of the magical Kelly offense that made Foles look like a football god. Tannehill was ranked 22nd in YPA that year, higher than previous seasons by 5 and 6, respectively. It helped that Miller had his best year too.

It's no wonder that our defense gets tired. If not for terrible officiating, 20 seconds of brilliance by our defense and complete incompetence by Pick Six Schaub, we lose to a horrendous, injury riddled Ravens team.

    So Tannehill's impression turns a 146 rating into a 78.

and 51 yards rushing into 11 yards.

    Sounds about right.

What part of my statement did you disagree with?

That Wilson doesn't win many games where he has to score more than 24 points?

Or that he benefited from having the best defense in the league year after year?

Or that he benefited from a strong run game?

Or that he benefited from coaches scheming to his strengths?

Or do you think that Tannehill has had all that?

Tannehill may not be as "good" as Wilson, but let's not act like Wilson hasn't had tons of support.

Wilson is a great young QB, there is no denying that. I'm not trying to say he owes all of his success to the run game and defense, but to not think it hasn't been a huge factor in his success is a little naive imho. The GB game last year showed just how bad he can play for most of the game and yet still be carried to victory against an elite opponent due to the immense talent on that team. Like it or not, SEA doesn't play in last years SB if it isn't for the other 52 men on that team being as good as any in the NFL. They have to be when facing Rodgers and your QB puts you in that kind of a hole.
